  1. Not bad. Carmel, Warren Central didn't live up to the preseason hype. Chatard, and Decatur Central over exceeded. I like DC and Merrillville next year. I expect both to flirt with that 15 spot.
  2. You and I were both hard on Luers this season. I love when a team proves critics wrong. I remember those years well. Anthony Spencer's years were just as good as the Jaylon Smith years. Both those era's saw Luers beat Snider two years in a row. That's saying something.
  3. I think it will be hard for the committee to exclude an undefeated Power Five program...........even if deep down they think another team is better.
  4. I'm not sure why they are so off on Snider. I can't imagine Snider's the only program that goes easy on inferior opponents.
  5. I get what your saying, but damn, it's a close call. I can't stand Ohio State, just trying to be objective here.
  6. OSU since Michigan is better than Alabama.
  7. So you think the committee will choose a one loss Oregon team over a one loss Ohio State team? It's a close call. As of right now, Ohio State's loss looks better. But Oregon has an opportunity to avenge theirs. Hard to ignore how Ohio State did on the road against who most are calling the best team in the country.
  8. Lately everyone has been siting Calpreps and Massey's football polls. Why the belief that these are so accurate? Sagarin does a darn good job, but we've seen some flaws.
  9. I'll gain some friends from Decatur Central and lose some from Mishawaka. I'm not so sure the Cavemen could beat DC or Merrillville. All bets are off with that offense though. The Cavemen's run game would get stuffed by either of those teams. Their only chance would be large chunk pass plays down the middle of the field like they did against Snider. And although Mishawaka has a VERY good defense, I think DC and Merrillville's are a little better.
  10. I like Luers, but I'm not sold on them being #25. Quite frankly, not sold on Lutheran either. I'd take New Haven in a head to head matchup with either team. It's a good looking poll though.
  11. My thoughts are similar for Decatur Central. Enough young guys to maybe propel them to 6A in 2026.
  12. When you come up with your polls, is it "who deserves what" or "who would beat who?" Honest question. I'm not sold that four teams ahead of Ohio State, as much as it pains me to say it, are better than them.
  13. You could very well be correct. SEC down at the top this year compared to years past?
  14. This forum is going to obliterate you for having the audacity to place Snider at #6 after winning "a watered down 5A." I'll say this, the Panther defense is THAT good. It would keep them competitive against anyone in the state. Good poll, thanks for sharing. I'd like to see Brownsburg in that #2 spot though.
  15. Inspired by College Football Final this morning. I thought I'd throw mine out there before they do: 1. Michigan 2. Georgia 3. Ohio State 4. Alabama 5. Washington 6. Florida State Next out: Texas It would suck for an undefeated Power Five team not to get in, but strength of schedule has to matter.
  16. I was impressed with Luers. It was the first time I was able to see them in person all year. I left them for dead after weeks 1 & 2, but they are clearly a different team now. I think Kyle Lindsay should be looked at for Coach of the Year. For the record, I think Luers vs Lutheran or Luers vs Adams Central would be good competitive games. Congrats to Luers. No matter what they say about the level of play in 2A, the bottom line is this: You'll be remembered forever as the 2A champ. And 95% of high school football fans don't even know what the GID is. So most are oblivious of the "this class is weak," or "this class is watered down" talk. Fans are enjoying these championships for what they are. Gotta love high school football.
  17. They remind me of Center Grove. Nothing flashy. Just good sound football. They beat you with discipline and fundamentals.
  18. Thanks for the update. I really thought Crown Point was going to keep it closer than that.
  19. Landen Fry #44. He's a beast at LB. Jamarion Kolagbodi #20, good defensive back. Defense should be pretty solid along with Logan and Blakely.
  20. Thanks for that. Kudos to Penn though for getting it done in the mud.
  21. Not sure why Northwood was giving away field position in the 2nd quarter. No need for an onside kick tied 7-7. That led to a short field touchdown to fall down 14-7. Then going for it on 4th and 5 from their own 45. Again, short field touchdown, 21-7. That was the turning point in the game. The better team won of course, but I think the game could have been closer. Passing game was looking solid early on.
  22. Went to Kilroy's after the Luers game. I didn't see anyone who looked like a truck driver with his belly hanging out of his tee shirt..........and the bar was packed. Had my beer at the District Tap.
  23. Good for them, great program. That says something for their coaching staff.
