  1. I think Ben Davis has a great team this year. I still think it's a tragedy that two nationally ranked teams had to play each other in the first round. No matter who has who ranked ahead of the other, I think both Ben Davis and Brownsburg deserve any accolades a poster is willing to give them.
  2. I still have Carroll up there with, at least within the ballpark, of Crown Point and Penn. Too much stock is being put into their loss to Warsaw. Just like many on here thinking Snider is average since Mishawaka took them to the wire. Those are hard offenses to defend. Warsaw's time of possession on one drive was higher than Carroll's for the entire game. Again, posters are putting too much stock into "one" game. Warren Central almost beat Ben Davis. EVERY team has a week or two where they just don't play up to par. Some are too blind to see that. I have a lot of respect for the time you put into your rankings. At least you throw it out there. I'm still going to take the easy road and put mine out there after this weekend. By the way, I still think Brownsburg is the best team in the state. But I'll give credit where credit is due. I'm not sure anything can change my mind this weekend about not having them in at least the #2 position. As of right now, I'm not sure how you measure the gap between Ben Davis and Crown Point...........unless we're going by how many miles they are away from Indianapolis. I really don't feel like getting into another transitive property debate. I'm just hoping for a good game, as I know you are too.
  3. It won't be anything like the 2015 game. I'm thinking whoever scores 28 first wins. Snider's defense in 2015 was probably less than average by Snider historical standards. This one ranks pretty high.
  4. Is that a tax for taking up real estate while standing in line? I can't imagine there's a fee.
  5. They did catch up, kudos to them. It's a four quarter game. I have a lot of respect for the Westfield program. They do with what they have as well as anyone in the state. They're so good, no one was giving Crown Point a chance. But Crown Point did win the game, and they are still being downplayed. Not sure what else this team has to do. Unless they beat Ben Davis, they are in a no win situation. If they are competitive to the tune of a 35-21 loss, many will turn to the Center Grove overtime game and say that was the "real" state championship. Right now I have Crown Point at #4 in the state, and it's well deserved.
  6. Don't act like you're doing something wrong. Your opinion is your opinion. Just don't get caught up putting too much stock into one game when you're formulating your polls. We're 14 weeks into the season. Look at body of work over course of time. Good luck to Northwood Saturday, they may need a little. Great win on Friday. Leo is a good team.
  7. It's my hope, for obvious reasons, that Snider's not in 5A next year. I'll be cheering Merrillville on. Their program and fan base are ready for a shot at Lucas Oil. It's a tough pill to swallow when you're 0 for your last 8 opportunities.
  8. Of course it is. Double the enrollment. Double the amount of speedsters on the team and the likelihood that the fastest kid is on your team and not the other one. That's what I'm saying.
  9. I think Snider/Chatard would be a good game. Other than that, 5A would utterly smash 3A. I think East Central might be slightly better than 5A's best. I'll know more after the weekend. But I'll take 5A's top six over 4A's top six. Let's be honest, no one said anything about 5A being weak when Cathedral was there. I don't know what your definition of weak is, but I happen to think that Snider, Valpo, Merrillville, and Mishawaka are pretty good football teams from the north. The "5A is weak talk is overblown" and it's mainly because it's not dominated by an Indy team when Cathedral isn't there. It doesn't fit the "Indy is better than everyone else" narrative. Therefore it has to be weak.
  10. Lol, your true colors are really showing. It was just a matter of time.
  11. I have no doubt that Ben Davis will be the fastest team Crown Point has seen all year. But they did manhandle Merrillville, who's pretty damn fast. I get it though, double Merrillville's enrollment, and you have Ben Davis. In my opinion, every state title game other than 3A has a degree of interest. I plan on hitting five games.
  12. Let's not forget about Brownsburg. Until I get to see EC on Saturday, I still have Ben Davis, Brownsburg, and Center Grove as the Top 3.
  13. That just sums up all of your back handed slaps in one sentence. For the record, Snider was bumped to 6A in 2017, and 2018. In 2017, they were easily Top 10 regardless of class. I believe I had them somewhere around #5. So stop ignorantly acting like this Tippmann/Isaacs led program is a "losing cause." They do a pretty good job with the resources they have. Anyway. I'm looking forward to the East Central/Northwood game. I'll have an opportunity to see this Trojan team that everyone keeps touting. Maybe they're as good as advertised? Probably. I'll also get a chance to see two of Indiana's best players on the other side of the ball. Northwood has a pretty good football team. They have to be since they made it out of the north. I really thought it was going to be Leo or East Noble. But congrats to Northwood, they had a very good Leo team playing catchup all night long. I think this game is a little more interesting than people give it credit for.
  14. I love how you claim admiration for Snider, then throw their program under the bus with claims that you think are factual. You're only here to tout how great Chatard is, that's factual. I'm looking forward to my final assessments after the state finals are over. Everything until then is just speculation. There's twelve teams left that need to finish what they started. Until then, stop your 'Chatard is greater than thou nonsense.'
  15. Everyone gets upset about hypothetical rankings. Who really cares. East Central has an opportunity on Saturday to crown themselves champions of 4A, and that's all that really matters. After that, they can make the claim "we could." But in reality, we'll never know. East Central had a really good win over Moeller, and they want to use that as a basis to the claim "we're the best in Indiana." I get it, but when I compile my final ranking (which means nothing btw), body of work over the entire season is going to come into play. At the end of the day, yes, the Trojans are "pretty darn good." I think it's exciting for their program and fans that posters here on the gridiron are even mentioning them in the same sentence with Indiana's perennial powers. I'm looking forward to seeing them in person on Saturday.
  16. C'mon Rodney. Even you can appreciate Adams Central vs Lutheran.
  17. Then proceed to enjoy the next three quarters of the 1A game?
