You realize the Sagarin ratings had Morton and Np over Hobart too. Fun info to look at but they are not a very good thing to look at for game predictions

Didn't realize that. I just have nothing else to go by regarding Hobart and East Noble since I've seen neither play. Looking forward to Friday though, I'll get to see both first hand.

Regional bias. Picking Hobart to roll a solid East Noble club and thinking Merrillville can hang with Carmel? Regional bias. My guess is Carmel over Merrillville by at least 20. Could be 30. Zac Wells took better Merrillville teams than this down to Carmel and got embarrassed. Carmel’s D is too good and they have a very solid running game this year. The other games will be within 10 points either direction. My gut is telling me Hobart and Valpo win thrillers and Eastbrook pulls away late to beat Andrean.

In my opinion, Dwenger might have the best defense in the state. I just don't see anyone "rolling" them.

I agree with Carmel winning big. I'm rooting for Merrillville, but Carmel is Carmel. I see them handling Merrillville in the same fashion they handled Homestead.

I really don't know anything about Hobart and East Noble other than Sagarin having EN as a 1 pt favorite.

How good was Bama before Saban got there?

I’d say there are 2-3 other coaches who could dominate there in college football today, but don’t forget how bad of shape that program was in when Saban took over. Only 47 wins from 2000-2006.

That's a fair answer regarding Saban. Knute Rockne not being on the list was the biggest head scratcher to me.

Good size crowd....I was surprised how many showed up when I arrived.   Tenderloin was HUGE....my wife took 1/2 her’s home.  I liked the chili, too.  Called them at Noon to confirm the chili, btw.

    Fun time!

Glad you enjoyed. The Acme has been around forever. A great spot for the local North Side folks................Snider, Dwenger, and Concordia as well.

Good luck to Chatard next week. When they scored on their second play from scrimmage last night, I knew the young Cadets were in big trouble.

Don't ask me me why Dwenger or East Noble were brought up. Read bro! read the thread then you will understand my comment. This is 2 threads you have quoted me without reading anything. Please read before quoting me if you don't understand but don't wanna read just don't comment or quote ppl.

Actually, I just quoted you in another one a few minutes ago. Read that one.

My question about East Noble and Dwenger wasn't meant to offend. I was just wondering if I was missing something......................"bro".

Good luck to your Brickies..................great team this year!

The man said he is going to be in Bloomington Indiana returning to the Region area so how is Valpo vs Dwenger a possible option? ppl need to read. I picked Merrilliville at Carmel as the best pick cause its the most inline with his route home.

And a good pick it was! I was just reinforcing Bobref's decision to hit the Valpo/Dwenger game. Maybe "no-brainer" was an insensitive choice of words.

Good luck to your Brickies on Friday, that's the game I will be at. From a geographical standpoint, I should be cheering for East Noble. But really, I don't care who wins. I'm glad to see Hobart back in the mix of things. Indiana High School football isn't the same when Hobart's not toward the top. Good luck to you guys.

The great thing for smaller schools in the SAC is that you are going to play against a variety of schools that typically are bigger than you, some maybe a lot better.....but you will be better in the end.  The negative is that your probably going to lose a fair amount of those games.

That might not fit well in the video game mindset where if you are losing you just reset the game until you win.  That mind set isn’t isolated to certain kids Concordia, by any means.  That said, I’m no shrink so what do Iknow?

I thought the kids from Concordia played their @sses off last night.....right to the end.  They went down throwing roundhouses.

BTW, Acme was a great recommendation for pregame last night.  Thanks.  Hope our folks weren’t too rowdy and tipped well.  Thanks for ALL of the food recommendations.

I heard there was a very rowdy out of control bunch from Chatard at the Acme last night. Btw, how was the tenderloin?

Unfortunately they have been stuck at this level for 4 to 5 years now. They have some good athletes at Concordia who won't play football. I know one personally. I keep asking him why he won't play, his answer is "Why would I go play and lose? Or I am not big enough." Drives me crazy when he says this.

There has to be something else. Something else that he is afraid of. Or maybe he's just not that passionate about football. I've heard kids say that as well. In my opinion, it's either that football isn't their passion, or that they are afraid of not being as good as they think they are going to be. They'd rather talk about how good they are, instead of going out and showing how good they are. I don't know the kid you are speaking of, so I'm not judging him personally. It's just what I've personally observed from kids who say that.

The kids I respect the most are the kids who play for Caston. They go out and get whipped every Friday night. Then they have to deal with the critics telling them how bad they are. But they continue to fight every week. When it comes to the game of life, those kids will be the winners.

I think he would have had an even better HS career if he hadn’t been required to play QB as a senior. Not his natural position.

I don't blame Dwenger for that decision though. I'm sure there were offers at the D1 level had he wanted to play QB. He was just that kind of athlete. He could QB. He could receive. He could return punts and kickoffs. It really makes me wonder what he would have done as a QB.

Not for the South Semi-State game they won’t.. They might be chirping that Valpo will beat NP, but I can 100% say the South Semi-State game is going to be a blowout lol

If New Pal thinks that the state championship was won against Cathedral, then they will lose to the Valpo/Dwenger winner.....................I have no doubt about that. Honestly though, as the best coach in the state, I think Kyle Ralph will have his team mentally prepared.

Valpo unfortunately. Dwenger ends up getting screwed with only 1 home playoff game.

You don't see a lot of teams play both regional and semi-state on the road. That's kind of a raw deal for the players and the fans. The road trip didn't seem to have any impact last night, hopefully it wont against Valpo.

Dwenger has to be ready for what type of team Valpo is. They could be the best team Dwenger has faced this year. Possibly better than Homestead, Snider, and Carroll. Valpo has competed in the largest class. And honestly, the only thing that kept them from championships is competing with schools twice their size.

This game could go either way. Good luck to the Saints!

All these ppl in here talking about Parker and East Noble, Wait until he plays Hobarts D, East Noble won't beat the Brickies. Talking about East Noble playing bigger schools is silly especially Dwenger.

How does Dwenger enter the picture? And who on this 6a thread is talking about East Noble?
