    I'm on board.

Saying that I would give you 28 was just for the sake of conversation. I'm not going to continue a discussion about gambling here (even if it is to benefit the GID). A high school football forum certainly isn't the place to do this. I apologize to anyone who may have been offended by this.

I'm not against discussing a fun friendly way of making a donation to the GID if you'd like to do it via private chat.

YOU stated that Noblesville would be “6-8” in the SAC so I’m just looking at Homestead’s (1st in the SAC) margin of victory over the current 6-8 teams:  Concordia (29), Luers (51) and soon to be North Side (pick your score).

    35 is generous, no?

If they were 7th in the SAC, you can throw out the Luers score. I do believe the Miller's would beat Knights. Whether or not they could be Northrop or Concordia is the big question to me. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say they could possibly finish 5th.

    I'll give you 28.

Yes, Snider is a fringe top 10 team that is comfortably in the top 15...as a 5A school playing at the 6A level...pretty high praise in my opinion.

Capable?  Sure.  But it won’t happen.

Noblesville played CATHEDRAL and CARMEL in the non conference and then will have played the HCC gauntlet by the time the tourney rolls around.

Snider, Carroll, and Homestead will also have been tested, no doubt but not nearly as much as Noblesville has been.

    Gimme 35.

Average margin of defeat so far is 25, why are you asking for 35?

Adding one more thing before I am accused of regional bias...

I want it known that I think highly of the top three 6a teams in the SAC as I ranked Homestead 7th in my GID submission whereas Snider and Carroll are just outside of my top ten (easily top 15).

I think all three would be favorites over Noblesville but not by a wide margin.

Very kind of you to put Snider in your Top 15. Thank you.

So Fishers, Westfield, and Zionsville are capable of beating Noblesville by a wide margin, but not Snider, Carroll, or Homestead? Sorry, but...........................regional bias.

I’ve heard this before.  I was just responding to DT’s comment that the “gap is closing fast”...I don’t agree with that part and think Noblesville could be competitive in the sectional, which IS A bad look for the SAC...no other way to slice it.

Wish in one hand, sh_t in the other. See which one fills up faster. Noblesville would finish somewhere between 6-8 in the SAC.

SAC is a beast this year.  Suburb schools Carroll and Homestead really stepping up their game

    Gap is closing fast

Is this just a wave of talent going through those two schools? Will they both go another decade without beating Snider and Dwenger after the 2019 and 2020 seasons? (Btw, both teams will be very good next year.) Personally, I think both programs are closing the gap as a result of leaving the NHC in 2015 and joining the SAC. Every week is a fight now instead of a guaranteed undefeated season (Homestead) and a guaranteed early round exit in  the playoffs.

Is this Luers worst team ever?

Hard to say. The SAC is absolutely stacked this year. I consider North Side to be a good football team. They just had the misfortune of opening against Snider, Dwenger, and Carroll. As I said in another post, those three teams would do the same thing to 90% of the state. I just can't say that a 5 point loss to North Side is any reason to believe that this is Luers worst team ever.

  8. Sure, they got blasted by Homestead and Carroll. But those two programs would do that 90% of the teams in this state. The Bruins win over Concordia was an eye opener to me. The Cadets have a pretty good football team...................we'll find out how good once the 3a tournament gets here. Did Northrop turn the corner? They have a good coaching staff, and in my opinion, it's just a matter of time.  Anyway, good win for the Bruins last night.

  9. This is getting comical.

After an unimpressive win against conference weakling Dwenger, the Spartans drop from 8th to 27th in the Sagarin Ratings.

One week later they beat lowly Snider and drop from 27th to 56th. Fifty five teams in the State of Indiana that are better than Homestead according to this poll. Shouldn't the Sagarin Ratings be at least semi-accurate after 5 weeks?

I know, it's just a poll.............bla, bla, bla. I'm just disappointed because I thought after 5 weeks it would be at least somewhat accurate.

    South Adams over Homestead

    Eastbrook over Snider

    Western Boone over Dwenger

    Rensselaer over Carroll

If Sagarin is right, the SAC is in an absolute state of disarray.

I picked homestead number one beginning of season. Just surprised Snider couldn't hang with them as tough is all.

It's really all about Luke Goode. He gave Snider fits last year. The difference being Snider not able to force any turnovers tonight. Homestead literally had the ball 7 times and scored 7 touchdowns. Kudos to them. Definitely Homesteads year.

I don't think anyone is ashamed. It's just that the turnovers and penalties are somewhat unusual. There were some questionable game management tactics and personnel decisions. And finally, there seemed to be a lack of urgency and intensity during several stretches of the game. Also not trying to take anything away from the Spartans. They are a legit good football team and it will take a nearly mistake free game for someone to beat them if they play like they did last Friday night.  My gut tells me that this was an anomaly and they will be back on track tonight at home against the Chargers.

They better be. And they better put their best foot forward. If not they will be on a two game losing steak. Carroll, Snider, Homestead, and Dwenger are playing on the same level right now.

  12. Carroll over Dwenger - The Saints are coming off of a big game against Homestead and probably don't realize how good Carroll is. The Chargers were an extra point away from sending the Panthers to overtime, yet know one really want's to add them to the discussion as the SAC's best. Carroll by 10.

Homestead over Snider - The Spartan's just beat a team that, in my opinion, is better than Snider. Dwenger's probably bigger, faster, and has a better defense than Snider.  Homestead by 14

Concordia over Northrop - Concordia has a good team. They are battle tested. They lost to Homestead and Snider and will probably go down to Carroll. They will handle everyone else and be battle tested to start the 3a tournament. Concordia by 10

South over Wayne - I'm not I've witnessed a collapse in one year like I've seen at Wayne. I'm rooting for the Archers. I want to see this program turn the corner. South by 7

North over Luers - North Side has some fight in them, probably more so than Luers at this point. North by 7.

Yes, I keep forgetting that Dwenger is in 5A now.

In my opinion, Valpo is a slight favorite over Dwenger. But after playing Homestead, Carroll, and Snider, I think the Saints will be battle tested enough to carry them to Lucas. Those four teams might be Top 20 regardless of class. I'm not sure the SAC could ever say that in the past.

  14. I was out of town, so I live streamed it. Dwenger's side was never shown, but I'm presuming their side was full with some standing? 2700 maybe for Dwenger? Homesteads side looked like all students and some parents. 600 maybe? Homestead's side wasn't jammed packed like I thought it would be. Many people staying home because of lack of seating would be my guess. Casual fans who were neutral more than likely sat on the Dwenger side.
