  1. I don't think anyone takes this thread seriously anyway. I'm a pretty compassionate guy, I'm not bothered by blowouts until it gets into the 60's and 70's. I think it's ok to show mercy at that point. If I'm a head coach and in a situation to give my second string QB some reps, I can assure you that I'm not sending him out there to had the ball off every time. On the surface, passing the ball when there is a running clock might look like "running up the score," could be a situation where the second string QB is getting passing practice. However, if the margin is in the 50's, the second string QB should have been in the game long enough to get some passing reps in, so no need to pass at that point. Be gentlemen and run the clock out.
  2. Losses will start mounting for HCC teams and others will bump up by default. I get it. It would be hard for me to rank a four loss Noblesville team ahead of a one loss Elkhart team given that Elkhart hasn't had the opportunity to play an Indy team. My poll will also reward the undefeated and one loss programs.
  3. Took the words out of my mouth. I'm curious how good they really are. North Side's loss against them isn't looking so bad anymore. You've got Elkhart beating Noblesville?
  4. I'm curious what Rodney would say about this.
  5. I'll kindly pass, not worth the time. I just know that a team was up this past weekend 35-0 and lost. Gotta go for the jugular. As a coach, I'm running the score up to 49-0 in the first half. If I have an opportunity to score again before halftime, I'm taking a knee, the game is over. If I'm up 35-0 in the second half, I'm letting the 2nd string run down the clock.
  6. Agree. Based on overall body of work, I had to rank HSE ahead of Fishers. Beating a team by three points doesn't mean a whole lot to me. The outcome in Game 2 could be a whole lot different. I'm not surprised that Fishers beat HSE though. The level of play is off the charts right now for the Northern Indy schools. I'm not sure Noblesville, Westfield, HSE, Fishers, and Carmel have all put good teams together in the same season like they have this year.
  7. How is winning a game 36-0 "running up the score?"
  8. Our Top Ten, ironically, is almost identical. Push Snider to #11 and bump HSE to #6.
  9. I just don't think the "amount of time" one is here is relevant.
  10. It won't matter as long as he's posting 10 win seasons. A three loss season this year would warrant his firing though. This is an easy schedule that screams undefeated or one loss with the talent on this team.
  11. Odd that one high school football fan would attack another on their passion for the sport they share a common interest in. We need more posters on here who are obsessed with the sport. DT provided a lot of content.
  12. Notre Dame is Chicago adopted team. Is Purdue Indianapolis's adopted team? Roster is LOADED with Indy kids.
  13. The only positive I can take from that game is that the head coach is a Bishop Luers graduate.
  14. Not a bash on Michigan, but from what I saw on Saturday, six wins would be a successful season. If they played IU right now, I'd put my money on the Hoosiers. I like what I'm seeing from Cigneti. X's and 0's beat Jimmies and Joes. Right?
  15. I think Notre Dame is in if they win out. Smart people know that Northern Illinois was a trap game. Or was it? Can we call a 'guaranteed win' a trap game? Or do only mid and low tier Power Five qualify as trap games? Either way, win out and they are in. But right now I don't have confidence in the offense to do that.
  16. Going into this season we knew that East Central was losing a lot of players from a season ago, which is why I was never ready to anoint them as the team to beat in 5A. I believe I had them at #5 to start the season. Bishop Dwenger went through a mediocre stretch of two years in which they posted a 12-10 record, a winning record nonetheless. What we forget is that they were 35-5 the three years prior. So that's been the story of Jason Garrett's 5 year era. Snider went 12-8 during the 2019 & 2020 season and many on this forum were also saying that the Panthers best days were behind them. So.............maybe Dwenger is still Dwenger? Personally, I don't have any answers, so for me it's a 'wait and see.' Check out this link for some pretty good highlights against Moeller. https://www.maxpreps.com/in/fort-wayne/fort-wayne-bishop-dwenger-saints-tuffy/football/
  17. Just when I started to giggle at Michigan's embarrassing loss (I do like their coach though), Notre Dame turns around and gets embarrassed as well much to the delight of Michigan fans knowing that we are sharing in their turmoil. Bad day for the nations two winningest programs.
  18. I like Noblesville and Fishers to be a little higher.
  19. Ranking 6A is a challenge. After Brownsburg, 2-6 is a crapshoot, as is 9-13. Snider, Carroll, Fishers, Noblesville, and Lawrence North all worthy of cracking the Top 10, but there can only be two.
  20. Well, the Saints did rumble with Moeller for the better part of 2 1/2 quarters. I guess time will tell.
  21. Well yeah, but.................
  22. I think you missed the point.
  23. Great post. Pump dollars into your local community. A million dollars is way too much to tote a football, I'd much prefer supporting local high school kids.
  24. This is the game of the week in the SAC. Two programs that took a beating in the offseason by fans and posters. North Side was dubbed as a "train wreck" of a program by many and Dwenger was left for dead as a program on a downward spiral. Personally, I like the passion Ben Johnson has for his program. His first three years have been a complete up and down yoyo, but the passion is there nonetheless. Dwenger has a guy who led the team to a 35-5 record his first three seasons, but after two mediocre seasons, some (I admit taking part) have dubbed the Saints as a program on a downward spiral. Fast forward to 2024. North Side opens with an impressive win over Northridge and shows some fight against 6A power Lawrence North. Dwenger goes toe to toe with the second best team in Ohio before succumbing in the second half by double digits. What Brownsburg did to the Saints is no different than what Brownsburg would do to 95% of all Indiana high school football teams. I think both of these teams have Top 10 potential in their respective classes. Hoping to see this one in person. I think the Saints prevail.
  25. My comment really had nothing to do with Snider, more about why Riley chose to cancel their game with Wayne. To be fair though, Kendallville is 30 minutes to most of the northern part of Fort Wayne. Forty minutes to downtown (North Side High School). Snider's right down the street from North Side.
