  1. I thought Cathedral would do the same thing on the ground but they didn't stand a chance. LN is a finesse team offensively but they are much, much more physical defensively than you are giving them credit for. They fly around, get after you, and hit you in the mouth.
  2. LN outclassed Cathedral Friday and didn't even play particularly well. First time in a long team that I've seen a team head and shoulders better than Cathedral. LN is the best team in the state by a wide margin in my opinion and their toughest opponent is going to be themselves. Turnovers and penalties can wreck a team in the postseason and that is something that needs cleaned up because good to great teams will take advantage.
  3. Not going to get the kind of respect you're looking for with that schedule. I'm sure Crown Point is very good and they will have their chance to prove themselves here in the next couple of weeks.
  4. I don't think CG is as good as they have been in the past, but I will say this...there isn't a better big game coach/program in the state than Eric Moore/Center Grove. Despite having a defense that struggles to get off the field, their offense is still very legit. I know the winner of LN/Brownsburg does not want to see CG in semi-state, especially LN who has already played them once. I think CG is still a very legitimate threat to win the state title. Way too many people counting out the Trojans who are still the standard program in this state.
  5. Weird game. Sloppy game, one I’m sure both coaches will lose sleep over when they see the tape. LN won 24-7, surviving three first half INT’s. Cathedral threw a pick 6 near the end of the 2H and lost their QB shortly after to injury and that effectively ended the game. LN scored on a short field to start the 2H and then returned a fumble for a TD on the ensuing drive. Pretty darn impressive to win convincingly as they did given the amount of turnovers and penalties. They clean that up, they are the favorites going forward. Future is bright for Cathedral. Young team that returns a ton next year to go along with a freshman class that might be one of the best to come through when all said and done.
  6. LSU/Bama is an elimination game this weekend
  7. HSE best value, Brownsburg best bet
  8. Up to #8 in the AP
  9. So many impressive wins? Yesterday, TAMU lost by 24 to South Carolina and Navy lost to Rice by 2 TD’s. Rice fired their coach on Monday. Louisville is a nice win that looks better after yesterday. Northern Illinois is now 4-4 with a 1-3 record in the MAC, there is no escaping that. ND is going to benefit from a soft schedule to end the year and a bunch of conference teams beating up on each other these next few weeks.
  10. A postseason moral victory at that…
  11. Carmel loses 29-28 to Zionsville. Time to burn it down.
  12. I'm not sure I'd categorized Jackson's play as bad. IU is in survival mode right now until Rourke is cleared to play and the play-calling definitely suggested a game-managing role...of that I felt he did fine.
  13. I think Cig and staff know QB is the most important position on the field by far and will do whatever is necessary to make sure there isn't a drop off my this year to next. Whether that be Tayven, a portal QB, or potentially the incoming 5* freshman remains to be seen, but I trust the staff to make that decision. FWIW, Cig and staff have dipped into the portal the last 3 seasons(2 at JMU/IU this year) for a QB and have turned the latter two into all-conference player with Rourke likely to receive serious consideration depending on his availability the rest of the year.
  14. They're still aggressively trying to flip 5* QB JuJu Lewis from USC so that will probably play a factor in what they do in the transfer portal.
  15. That they're in a sectional with his historically mid to bad programs such North Central, Lawrence Central, and Lawrence North. Outside LN this year, I wouldn't exactly call that murderer's row. In fact I wouldn't favor either of those schools to win 3A, 4A, 5A in any given year.
  16. I don't think Cathedral has a chance without a healthy line and a stable of running backs that can extend drives and run clock.
  17. On any given night, absolutely. But the grind throughout a 3-4 month season however is a completely different story, especially as injuries mount. Not an excuse, just the reality of the situation. That is precisely why teams are classified by enrollment. A fully healthy Cathedral team is very good, a hurt Cathedral team is still good and will always compete to the final whistle. Have done it a couple times this year
  18. Oklahoma, well more like Brent Venables, is going to regret forcing Dillon Gabriel out in favor of Jackson Arnold
  19. Tayven good enough to beat everybody remaining on the schedule minus Ohio St and I’m not sure IU beats Ohio State WITH Rourke. 11-1 gets IU into the playoff which starts mid-December. Plenty of time for Rourke to heal.
  20. Hopefully Sherrone Moore is in line for an extension.
  21. They’re terrible lol
  22. Rourke out least a week due to thumb injury. I’ve heard it’s broken and timetable is 4-5 weeks.
  23. No one will discuss this. John Wooden would have been banished to Hades had the ncaa had a compliance team in the 60’s.
  24. IU is going to beat Michigan by 30
