  1. Being reported that Kurtis Rourke played the entire season on a torn ACL. Add in fact that he only missed a game and a half after having a broken thumb surgically repaired and it makes his performance all that more special. What a warrior.
  2. IU has retooled their RB room with transfers Lee Beebe Jr from UAB (884 yards 7 TDs last year) and Roman Hemby from Maryland (2400 yards 22 TDs in 3 seasons). There is a large expectation that Cal transfer Fernando Mendoza (3004 yards 16 Tds/6 INT's 69% completion %) will be committing to IU over Georgia in the next 48 hours. Fernando has a brother on the team that is a RS-Fr QB. He is currently the #2 rated QB in the portal. Team still needs a couple, two slot receivers, and an EDGE rusher although All-American Mikhail Kamara has another year of eligibility if he wants it.
  3. Wasn't missing this one for the world....just a Christmas dinner with the in-laws. Whoops 😄
  4. Ohio State will bring significantly more fans than Oregon to the Rose Bowl Jan 1. Nobody in the country travels better than Ohio State. They've already played once this year at Oregon where OSU lost by a point on a questionable OPI. Ohio State is the most talented team in the country, if the coaching staff takes off the training wheels they are the toughest out in the field.
  5. If OSU plays like they did against Tennessee, they will win the whole thing. Stockton is going to have to make some throws for Georgia, but so is Leonard. Texas and Penn State will roll. Talent always shows out in games like these and Texas and Penn State are vastly superior to ASU and Boise St despite having some lackadaisical coaching.
  6. What an atmosphere Friday but my health took the worst hit lol, haven't been this sick in awhile standing out in the cold all day/night. Congrats to the Irish, they controlled the LOS and were a vastly superior team. Disappointed with Coach Cignetti and the gameplan. Can't talk all that crap and call a game like that. Rourke was never the same after that INT and refused to look over the middle until the game was out of hand. I thought pass pro in the first half was fine and Rourke just had happy feet. ND/Georgia should be war. Will say, Riley Leonard probably needs to take more shots downfield if ND is to have a chance. Won't be able to dink and dunk down the field like they did IU.
  7. Woodson's hire was 100% political. BOT chair Quinn Buckner has been calling the shots the last 4-5 years. He's going to be ousted here once his term is over. There will be a new IU bball coach next year.
  8. If you have to give Woodson credit for anything it's him somehow being 3-3 vs Purdue. Archie Miller being 0-9 against Purdue is something I will never forgive him for.
  9. Do they? A&M went 1-3 down the stretch. Who is their best win? Missouri, a team who lost to every good team they played by 30+? LSU, a team that lost to 6-6 USC?
  10. Indiana was projected to go 4-8 this year, picked 17th out of 18 teams, with their lone B10 win projected to come against Purdue. Teams like Michigan, Nebraska, UCLA, and Washington would have finished a lot higher than 7th, 10th, 12th, and 13th had they in fact not lost to Indiana. And all would have finished with a winning record. Indiana wasn't able to play itself this year and their SOS took a hit at their opponents expense.
  11. IU goes 3-9 or 4-8 next year? That's normal for IU football. There's two, three at most, games IU will be an underdog in next year. IU going 9-3 or 10-2 next year isn't the flex you think it is nor is it returning to normal. IU still returns a lot more than you think, especially on the offensive line where everything stops and starts. IU turning over a large part of the roster and still winning 8+ games next year further supplants Cignetti's legacy.
  12. One team has already had the benefit of playing a snow game while the other played in 75 degree weather out in LA. IU put up 66 points and nearly 600 yards of offense in a snow game last time out....granted, it was against Pudue.
  13. Lottery ticket winners have just hit the secondary market this morning. Going to be a lot of red next week. Get-in prices now under $500
  14. If they lose at home to Tennessee, he might be gone before he hits the locker room. It's all going to depend on how they feel their chances are with Freeman and Vrabel. You beat Tennessee you aren't playing again til the 1st, waiting until after the 1st (portal closed by then) to hire Matt Campbell just seems like a huge gamble. I think the only way they'd fire Day after the 1st of the year is if they had Urban onboard.
  15. Freeman Vrabel Matt Campbell Hartline Hartline would take the job if the first three said no, but if it got to that, they're in trouble. I wouldn't put it past Urban coming back either.
  16. Rourke with a clean pocket has absolutely shredded teams. He has the highest QBR rating of any QB in the country. He’s extremely accurate (70%) and doesn’t turn the ball over. The only QB Notre Dame has seen this year in the same breath as Rourke is Tyler Shough from Louisville and he had a big day against the Irish. ND is going to have to dial up some blitzes to get home.
  17. Ohio State has two of the best receivers in college football. IU sold out to stop Jeremiah Smith from beating them over the top. ND doesn't have anywhere close to the passing attack or outside weapons of Ohio State. Indiana can and will keep an extra defender in the box against ND. That was the point I was trying to make. Notre Dame runs the football extremely well and Love is as good as it gets, but IU's best strength plays into ND's greatest strength. That's why I believe ND is a better matchup for Indiana. exactly
  18. Unfortunately I think close to half of that was spent on our underperforming basketball.
  19. ND is a better matchup for IU than Ohio State. Outside a gamesmanship 50 yard run at the end of the game, IU held Ohio State to less than 3 ypc all while committing help to Jeremiah Smith over the top. ND doesn't have anywhere near the WR talent, let alone depth that Ohio State does outside and should be able to keep an extra defender in the box to assist with the run. IU statistically has the best run defense in the country and will be by far the best ND has seen all season. Contain Leonard and force ND into obvious passing downs and the D should hold up. Offensively, IU just can't get behind multiple scores where they have to get off-balance with the play-calling . Despite the 25 yard loss credited to the punter on the drop snap and the bevy of Rourke sacks, IU ran the ball well against Ohio State with both backs despite the end game rushing stats...over 4 ypc. I think Ohio State has a better run D than ND although ND is very solid across the line. IU dictated the game up until the two ST miscues that saw the Hoosiers go down 2 scores quick. From there, Ohio State pinned their ears back and really brought the house as IU had to try and pass to get back in the game. If IU can operate around 3-4 ypc, should be able to extend drives most the night. A game like this is probably going to come down to a turnover, both teams take care of the ball extremely well and both are in the top 5 in the country in TO margin. Feels like a 27-21 type game, hope its IU. Should be a good one.
  20. I was at the Ohio St/IU game and all the OSU fans around us started buying tickets towards the end of the 3rd quarter. Meteor wasn't an option.
  21. The real reason why Ohio State fans want Day fired 😄
  22. Over my dead body lol. I'll root for Georgia before I root for Notre Dame.
  23. So under that proposal, Clemson #16, wouldn't have made the field as the 5th highest rated champion. First round byes: 1 Oregon 2 Georgia 3 Texas 4 Penn State Opening round games: 5 ND/12 ASU, 6 OSU/11 Alabama, 7 Tennesse/10 SMU, 8 IU/9 Boise
  24. I think it's the right number. Bracket would look a whole lot better going forward if you scrape the 5th highest CC automatic qualifier and eliminated first round byes for the 4 highest rated conference champions. Seed the field based on the final rankings 1-12.
  25. Except IU and Notre Dame aren’t rivals. They’ve played each other twice since the 50’s, last occurrence in 1991. There’s no conflict of interest rooting for Notre Dame football in the fall and IU basketball through winter and spring, especially for non-alums of either school which make up 99% of the “reversible jacket” crowd.
