    Carmel vs Westfield…oh wait.

    CG vs Warren…oh wait

    Carmel&CG vs MIC…nope

    Carmel&CG vs HCC…nope.

forget the travel rule. Great matchups right around Indy metro area. And these schools don’t want it.

Center Grove and Carmel as independents will now have balance to schedule quality in-state as well as out of state opponents. Out of state matchups featuring premier opponents is good for visibility.

Once again, stop being so dense.  The gentleman above just stated “safety” as one of the main reasons for moving his children to the suburbs. I believe it is often referred to as urban sprawl/white flight.

As I have mentioned in multiple threads, the issues facing students in the city as opposed to rural/suburban schools are night and day.

Just turn on the news every once in a while…especially if you want to be depressed.

Look at the data as it relates to crime and where it takes place…(hint, it isn’t Hamilton, Hancock, Boone, Johnson or Hendricks County most often).

If you cannot connect the dots, I don’t know what to tell you.

Warren and Ben Davis’ best days as football programs are behind them.

Side note:  How in the hell are you telling me on about things that have been happening for 30+ years when I’m pretty certain you weren’t even fertilized before then?

I'm not being dense, the gentleman above has stated that his son hasn't been cleared (neither has the Cathedral transfer) so it may very well be a case of transferring to a better program without a picking up and moving everything. This very well could be an athletically motivated transfer and why the IHSAA nor Warren have signed off.

I lived literally across the street from Tech for 4 years and it hasn't been long since I moved north. I know exactly what goes on in the inner-city schools. I was tutor for schools on wheels for over 5 years. Your opinion of me couldn't be more wrong.

I'm in my early 30's, I was a product of urban sprawl. I get it and it doesn't take a genius either to understand that people have been moving out of the city and into the suburbs for decades, it's not an Indianapolis thing. Given the current housing market, you're starting to see more and more young and up and coming families buying inside the loop. It's the only thing that is affordable. It's either going to benefit the private schools even more than it has but likely you're going to see a turnaround in some of the township schools. It's a ways out but I wouldn't put it past anything.

Not football players.  Ben Davis and Warren have been THE transfer destinations for talented football players for 30+ years…this would have been unheard of even as recently as 10 years ago.

Once again, you are being too dense.  These aren’t guys who got lost in the shuffle at Warren and were looking for increased playing time elsewhere…these were STARTERS for the most prestigious 6A program in Indy.

Doubt they’re looking for increased playing time elsewhere as they were already starters at Warren Central. They’re transferring to better football programs for an increased chance of playing at the next level. Warren isn’t churning out players like they used too.

The frequency with which it is happening has and will continue to increase.

STARTERS for WARREN CENTRAL are departing for the suburbs.  Don’t be so dense.

Wanna continue that SES rabbit hole?

Kids have been flighting to the suburbs for literally 30+ years. This isn’t news.

You bring the disdain on yourself dude.  Dont be so argumentative and feel like you have to take a contrary POV on every subject.  You bring great value to the forum with your knowledge and insight, but your approach just makes people want to punch you in the face.

So many empty and broken promises that I can’t keep up with them anymore.

    Sad.

Anyone see the irony in name calling someone in the exact same sentence as “you don’t know me?”

    Oh, it’s just me?

    Carry on…

I don't see any irony in calling somebody a clown for (incorrectly) assuming something about somebody simply for where they attended high school over a decade ago. For you to assume that I don't know anything about poor or less fortunate students "because I went to Cathedral" says everything about you and if we were anywhere other than this forum, being called a clown would be considered a compliment.

You still seem to have a problem with separating and understanding school consolidation from football team/program consolidation.  They can be two different things, at least in other states.  And as I have previously stated the IHSAA would be wise to also bless such football team/program consolidations.

Of course in the Ivory Tower that is Cathedral football, ideas such as football program consolidation would seem very strange and foreign.

One of the major reasons I ended up at private junior high and subsequently Cathedral was due to the consolidation and subsequent merging of athletic programs in my district.

But yes go off and tell me what I do and don't know. Puts you in the exact same category as that clown Temptation for assuming you know a single thing about me, simply based off the high school I attended years ago.

How do you handle practice 4 days a week when there is so much travel involved?

@Muda69Clearly he was talking about co-op teams as he immediately responded to the post complaining about travel constraints. Why would players at a consolidated school have to worry about traveling to practice 4 days a week if they were all in the same building? I realize reading in-between the lines isn't one of your fortes but at least give it a try.

I've searched all three pages of this thread for a post by DT where he states "I think it's a bad idea" and I can't find it. Can you please provide a direct link to said post or a screenshot?

I've already provided two direct quotes from this very thread where the commentary is more than clear and if you want further proof, check out this thread where he explicitly calls the same exact post on here "bad ideas".

    Checkmate.

I hope your find something productive to do with the rest of your day.

I cant imagine kids driving 30 minutes every day after school to go to a consolidated county football practice.  But I live in the city so what do I know.?

@Muda69Putting this out here again. If you can't recognize DT as anything but a walking contradiction than I can't help you, although I'm not sure you were worth saving to begin with.

Take off your dunce cap and listen very closely to what I have to say about this issue so I can clear it up for you. I said that I personally would not want to travel 30 minutes four times a week after school to go to practice. I also said very clearly that farm -rural people are different from City people and likely would have no problem making that 30 minute trek to practice four times a week. So yes there are two sides to the coin. Finally I am also fascinated by the idea of county schools consolidating their sports teams in an effort to be more competitive, assuming they can figure out the logistics and it makes sense for all of their people. I would much rather watch a competitive 1300 student 4a school then three horrible 350 student 1A schools. And I think most people would probably agree with that assessment.

    didn't even last an hour.
