  1. Possibly. I’m very intrigued by the idea of North winning this Sectional. I think it would give them a huge confidence boost and they would go on to win the North. If I’m North’s OC if I’m finding every way possible to get the ball in Johnson’s hands on a high percentage plays. He is the type of talent that can take over a playoff game.
  2. I think LC would have waxed that Ville team. The ‘92 team really had a chance against Ben Davis.
  3. Let's be honest. They have arguably the best coach in the state and 6A talent playing at 4A. Nobody in 4A is going to want to see them in the playoffs. Per 247: Senior Class: 6'7 OT committed to Louisville 6'1 WR committed to Ball State Junior Class: 6'5 OL with at least 20 Power 5 offers Sophomore Class: 6'2 DL with an offer from Tennessee listed. I'm sure there are other offers that aren't reported in 247. Outside of the above list I'm sure they have at least 5 guys (likely more) who will/could play at various levels of college.
  4. Be honest Parkhurst, you got Merrillville 49 - Snider 10 in front of a sold out Demaree Stadium? Get a little payback for Jamaal Williams and that '92 team that was legitimately good enough to win State?
  5. Not even Andrean? Most of what you said in this thread is the equivalent of saying water is wet. Nobody in this thread other than maybe Parkhurst has stated at all this season they think a northern team has a shot at 6A or that 5A is a meat grinder this year. Congrats on your hyperbolic diatribes, I guess.
  6. YIkes. Procrastinated and completely forgot to put my picks in last week.
  7. indeed. Definately not the same as when my mom lived there. She grew up in the small Village of Riverdale that is across the Little Cal River from Chicago. Her childhood home recently sold for a whopping ~$35K.
  8. Thornton Towship (my moms alma mater in Harvey) has definately seen better days. But, for a brief period in the '90's, they had Randle El, Tai Streets, and Napolean Harris in the hallways among others.
  9. Michigan and Notre Dame generally get who they want out of Chicagoland. But, Wisconsin and Iowa (Michigan State to an extens) have been feasting on what they don't want and have been getting some highly rated players occasionally. I think it would turn the needle towards Illinois in Chicagoland if Bielima starts producing in Champaign at a higher level than those 3. Champaign isn't as nice as Madison and probably Iowa City, but they tend to recruit Chicago well when they have a positive buzz in Champaign.
  10. On the flip side, that was a pretty big win for Bielema in my opion. He can now go to places Wisconsin has feasted in recruiting, especially Chicagoland, and say what they had is now in Champaign. Curios to see where this goes with Bielema as I think Illinois has long been a gross underachiever.
  11. And the ultra underachieving Mertz is still the QB. I am definately curious to see what kind of an impact Leonard could actually make this year as the CEO of the program. His auditition may be more about how he conducts himself as the CEO and less about on field success the remainder of the season.
  12. Did you see that CBC/Chatard game? I don't know much about St. Louis area football other than East St. Louis is traditionallly a powerhouse. CBC looked like a well coached All Star team. I wouldn't be surprised if someone said the Public schools in that area aren't the greatest because schools in that Catholic league CBC is in hoard the talent. Complete team. Not just some big time studs like Detroit King. I would be amazed if Warren could go to St. Louis and keep it within 2 scores considering the way they're playing.
  13. Good points. I'm just expecting it would be very painful to watch as a Purdue fan. Oh well, need to take the cup is a half full approach and just be happy to be there. My wife is always telling me I'm too pessimistic.
  14. Definately enjoyed that W after the way they lost to Penn State and Syracuse. The 'Cuse was the worst for me. Can't give up 30 yards in penalties after you score the assumed game winning TD! It could be worse. At least I'm not one of the boosters who committed $95M to Mel Tucker, lol. I respect what PJ Fleck has done in Minnesota; however, his Row The Boat schtick and reading children's books to his team just really annoys me for some reason.
  15. Of course. They have an elite coach. I think it's fair to say they're not beating Brebeuf last year with just an average HS QB. Allen was making throws in that game that were beyond next level for a HS QB.
  16. Of course they woudl, but it would be a very unpleasant game to watch. I can't imagine, presumably Michigan or Ohio State with a CFP berth on the line, letting this Purdue team hang in the game very long. I would guess the opening line would be around -17.5 and could hit 20 if it was Ohio State in the game.
  17. We're talking 2022. Gibson Southern no longer has a MAJOR reason they finallly broke through and won a Title and Chatard clearly isn't the Chatard of 2 years ago. I really don't care who would win a hypothetical matchup between Merrillville and say Chatard, but one thing was evident last Friday night. The speed on the perimiter for Christian Brothers was WAY too much for Chatard's defense to handle. If Justin Marshall was healthy, there's no reason to believe the Pirate offense couldn't run past Chatard as well and make it a game.
  18. Please no. I'll gladly take the easy schedule and a padded record if Purdue can continue to win. I don't want to see an embarrassing loss to Ohio State or Michigan in the Big Ten Title.
  19. I thought that was the case. I'm kind of out of the loop nowadays on the hot Coordinators. I know the current AD played for Alvarez. Curious to see if he sticks with Leonard or goes outside of the Wisconsin family tree.
  20. Not sure what to think about this one. Is Leonhard considered to be a hot HC candidate this year? Seems like either: Wisconsin made the difficult decision to let go of one of their own before his downslide continued to get worse and lock in a hot commodity who happens to also be one of their own or Wisconsin just pulled a Nebraska (Solich or Polini) and things are about to get even worse in Madison.
  21. Wow. Not often you see Chatard give up 41 points in a half. St. Louis Christian Brothers has some dudes.
  22. Highly doubtful. It would be nice to see them at least split with Merrillville and Valpo. Preferably with the W against Merrillville. I thought Good was a pretty good hire for them. It would be great if he could turn the Indians into at least a Top 5-10 6A program.
  23. Agreed. And it all starts with Lake Central. Enrollment and Socioeconomic wise they should be dominating the Duneland.
  24. Brownstown Central Indianapolis Cathedral Evansville Reitz Fort Wayne Dwenger Western Boone Brebeuf Tecumseh Carmel Floyd Central Tippecanoe Valley
  25. This is an amazing stat. The Bears have the #2 rushing offense in the NLF with 560 yards. But, they have the 3rd worst offense in the league in terms of total yards. I don't care how bad the WR's and pass blocking are. How often Fields doesn't go through his progressions or misses open WR's in the limitied time he does throw the ball is very troubling.
