  1. Similiar to what Lake Central recently did, Noblesville has a brand new stadium currently under construction. It should hold up to 8-9K. https://www.wthr.com/article/news/local/noblesville-build-new-high-school-stadium/531-de9df832-5824-45d3-8cfb-d56703d7ccf7
  2. I live in Noblesville. My kids go to Noblesville schools. I watch a lot of their games. I just want them to win, no matter the type of offense they run. Last year, their OL wasn't close to being good enough to run that offense. Hopefully, next year is a different story. Noblesville does have a solid youth football program, ironically called The Grinderrs, but I'm not sure if they're even running his offense.
  3. The Duneland is going to be extremely interesting next year with a lot of storylines. 1. Valpo & Merrillville: Coming off of multiple sucessful Tournament runs and both lost significant amounts of high end talent/size. Can Seiss and Marshall sustain success or do they take a step back and wait for more talent to come through? 2. Michigan City: There's been some mentions on here that Mason will have a contender next year with some really good talent. 3. Chesterton: Typically floats around .500. Will the standout QB deliver some unexpected W's? 4. Crown Point: Lake Central, LaPorte: New Coaches. Lake Central and Crown Point both appear to be good hires. LaPorte still without a coach. 5. Portage: I don't like the future trajectory for the Red Tribe. Chestovich has his work cut out for him with the way the landscape is changing in the Duneland.
  4. Fair point Mark and you can certainly be right. My argument would be he's not coaching against Zac Wells or Rick Wimmer. No offense to Seiss, but he had a really good crop of talent come through that got even better with transfers. Can he sustain success or drop back down to .500'ish level seasons? If the later, I coud see CP dominating Merrillville regularly.
  5. That would be extremely coincidental it's not his daughter. Doesn't Lux live in Crown Point with a kid on the basketball team?
  6. This is roughly the 8th time he's announced a departure. He'll be back. He has too much time vested in this forum to quit cold turkey like this. Ironically, his comment wasn't even accurate. Crown Point's percent of white students is lower because of the number of Hispanic students.
  7. Agree. Currently, best case scenario, he puts Crown Point on the same page as the upper ring of the Hoosier Crossroads. He still hasn't gotten over that hump to win a Title. Lost in '94 with Portage and had 2 teams at H-F capable of winning 8A in Illinois. One lost in the State Championship and the other lost the defacto State Championship to Loyola Academy when sketchy seeding had the two playing early in the playoffs. I can envision him getting Crown Point into the State Championship eventually if all goes well. The guy just beat cancer a year ago and hasn't coached since. Hopefully, his health allows him to continue until he decides it's time to hang up the whistle. But, taking down the last team standing from the MIC in Lucas Oil, I have to agree it'll take more than just good coaching.
  8. I'll tell you, from the experience of playing for him in the mid '90's, he expects perfection at all times. There's no slacking in the weight room, off season conditioning, film room, practice field, etc. Very good players were benched or held completely out of key games if they weren't focused. He holds everyone accountable. Expect a very seasoned and intelligent coaching staff if he brings in one similiar to what he had in Michigan City and H-F. I look forward to seeing how this plays out. The Blue Ring has eluded him at Portage and H-F. He's not leaving a perennial 8A contender in Illinois to settle for Sectional and Regional Titles in Indiana.
  9. Here's a good Bears factoid to highlight the geniuses at Halas Hall. The Bears chose Mark Trestman over Bruce Arians in 2013 because Bruce wouldn't take part in a silly mock Press Conference as part of the interview process. Trestman agred and the rest is history.
  10. My wife, who knows absolutely nothing about football, even asked why Rodgers didn't run to the EZ on that 3rd down play.
  11. Speaking of Brady, maybe the hyperbole is strong with this take, but I feel like his WR's let him down on those picks. Definately on the dropped passes. It seems like the guys he had in NE would be smart enough to look for the 1 on 1 jump ball when Brady is trying to avoid a 3rd down sack.
  12. How does Matt LeFleur not realize that kicking a FG with 2:05 left is the same result as not converting the 4th and Goal to potentially tie the game? You still have to get the ball back!!! Unreal. Absolutely. Though the millenial NBA fanboys will insist it's China's favorite son.
  13. Yeah, me neither. I immediately though of the Tennessee game last year when the deficit was much larger. Meh. 9 point deficit is chump change to the KC offense.
  14. And only in the southeast will a school purposely turn itself in for violations just to fire their coach and bring in the next best thing. I'm in not confidant in anything more than a 1 year self imposed Bowl ban for the Vols. The fact that Will Wade is still coaching hoops in Baton Rouge is about all you need to know about the power of the folks at NCAA HQ.
  15. I would be curious to see the impact Andreas has on Crown Point. My guess is Andrean gets more football talent out of Crown Point than they do Valpo. Though I'm unsure how many of Andrean's starters are actually from Crown Point. I would imagine Center Grove has the benefit that they'll never lose anyone of significance to Roncalli. Just my guess though.
  16. Agreed. Whenever I do actually go to a game, typically a Noblesville game at this point, I'm impressed by the sheer size of the teams. Based on my perception, a lot of 6'0 or higher players. Not a lot of 5'7 to 5'10 kids.
  17. That is an unreal stat. I agree, based on longevity of career, I would bet on a kicker or punter as being the most likely to duplicate it if even possible. I do think Brady is the GOAT and have enjoyed his run this year.
  18. Tom's resume definately speaks for itself, but defense also wins Championships too. Plus, MVPS, like the Heisman, typically go to the offensive stat stuffer on the best team. My counter to Belichecks record would be 80 of those games were in Celeveland. He turned Cleveland around by Year 3. Year 4 turned into a complete disaster when Modell announced he was moving the team to Baltimore. He then left for New England. Year 1 was a transition period where he restructured the roster (Also lost picks in the draft prior to Year 1 to get Bill from the Jets). Year 2 was a Super Bowl win. I charted NE's Passing Offense and Team Defense Ranks during the Belicheck/Brady marriage. I used inverse rankings for appearance, so a ranking of 32 in 2007 indicates the Patriots had the highest passing offense that year. Early on the Defense was ranked significantly higher than the passing offense. The 1st 3 Super Bowls had a significant difference in their rankings. Tom's rankings elevated later in his career; however, the defense had a higher league rating every year they won a Super Bowl.
  19. I think the truthh is somewhere in the middle. Earlier in their marriage I would say the defenses Belicheck built really carried New England. A lot of QB's could have won a Title with those defenses. Later in the tenure I think it's definately fair to say Brady carried New England. Looking forward to that game the most. The Packers are looking like Super Bowl Champs, but Tampa Bay has some serious hitters on D and the Brady factor. Personally, I hope the Pack win out. Hopefully, GB winning another Title lights a fire under the seats of the idiots running Halas Hall. They may not know much about running a football team, but it's well reported they do not like seeing GB win.
  20. Brees and I both started at Purdue in the Fall of '97. He was actually in the very first class I had. I recognized him because I followed recruiting and knew he was the QB from Texas. Crazy to think he went from being the skinny unknown kid in class that day to where he is now.
  21. Rippy is back and wants the New Haven job. Noted. Any wise interviewer is going to ask how you can be trusted to not bolt after 2 seasons. I'd advise you to work on that response. Good Luck!
  22. RIGHT!?! Allen Robinson told Carmen & Jurko a few days ago he didn't even know who was calling the plays against New Orleans. Are you kidding me? And I did hear the clip of them giving praise for winning 3 of the last 4. Getting excited about beating 3 crap teams and getting clobbered by your rival is cause for joy in New Jersey and Jacksonville. I loved hearing a reporter drill George about having a knowledgeable football presence at the President level. The only answer George had was that he trusts Ryan and Matt to make football decisions. I'm not expecting him to throw Ted under the bus, but I hope he wasn't missing the point of the reporter that Ted's position SHOULD be making football decisions regarding Pace and Nagy.
  23. I haven't listened to the press conference; however, judging from those I follow on Twitter it seems like George, Ted, and Pace are clueless. I'll catch up on today's Chicago sports radio while working tomorrow and I'm looking forward to the soundbites. The fact that Ted was even there today is proof he is involved in Operating decisions as Team President and doesn't just oversee the Financials of the business. He has no Business as President of an NFL football team. Only in the Chicago Bears organization could an Accountant rise the ranks of the financial side of the business and end up being promoted to President over football operations. Complete lunacy. That doesn't happen with the Rooney's or Mara's of the NFL. The schedule gets even tougher next year. So, I guess we can look forward to a sub .500 season and George having no idea how to fix it. The worst is I've heard multiple talking heads in Chicago say Virginia and George really do care about the success of the Bears. Then do something about it! I could possibly despise the McCaskey's more than the St. Louis Cardinals, which is saying a lot in my book. They inherited the franchise via Virginia and have zero background in football. By no means am I saying the owner should have an NFL background, but in their situation, it probably wasn't very prudent to hire the best Accountant in your office to run the Bears football operations when you realized Michael McCaskey wasn't capable of the job. I'm so pissed right now. Who knows if it would have even mattered, but I was convinced that this would be the year we would see some real changes being made before the Bears got lucky and ran off a string of W's against crap teams. I would not be the least bit surprised if them getting the extended playoff spot saved everybody from getting canned.
