  1. But, who showed up to their meeting with Pace in an old Toyota Camry? Who led a 4th Quarter comeback against an average opponent in an obscure Bowl? Anyone can draft a star out of Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, etc. Pace looks deep into their Soul and places more value on handshakes, table etiquitte, choice of car, choice of logdging, etc. My gut feeling is the Falcons will take Pitts at 4, the Bears will trade up to to get one of the QB's who falls, and draft David Mills out of Stanford. It's a total Pace move. I wouldn't mind seeing the Bears trade their #1 pick if they stay put at 20. I trust Pace more with some extra 2nd and/or 3rd picks than I do at picking #20.
  2. Expansion into the CCL/ESCC Blue Division? Play Brother Rice, Marist, Mt. Carmel, and Loyola Academy in Conference with crossovers against St. Rita, Montini, and Naz Academy? Keep Merrillville and Hobart for Non-Conference. Something like that? 😀
  3. If my math is correct, Wells went 81-32 with 5 Sectional and 3 Regional Titles in 10 seasons at Merrillville before leaving to become Buzea's long standing DC. I would imagine at some point Wells would want to be a HC again unless he prefers to be out of the spotlight.
  4. The Class of '23 OLB'ers recruiting is blowing up. 247 has him rated as a 5 Star recruit. He has a wide variety of Big 10, SEC And Big 12 offers. Any of the NWI guys know if he's a dual sport candidate in college? I see he's also on the 59'er baseball team. https://247sports.com/Player/Drayk-Bowen-46103028/
  5. The Burial Grounds was literally a football field put on a swamp. Portage was late to arrive for the '94 Regional because of the amount of traffic on Indianapolis Blvd trying to get to St. John and into the parking lot.
  6. I've never been to Evansville, but from images I've seen I actually like Enlow better than Reitz. I'm hoping I can get to SW Indiana at some point to check out the Baseball stadium in Huntingburg, Bosse Field, Enwlo, and the Reitz Bowl.
  7. Unique: The old Hobart Brickie Bowl The northside of the Bowl was concrete seating and grass hills that the Hobart faithful would pack along with structured seating in the parking lot above the Bowl. The west side of the Bowl had houses at the top where fans would watch from the yards. The "south" side of the bowl was a hill with active railroad tracks that were active. It was common for a train or two to pass through during a game. Fans would also watch games from up on the tracks. At the bottom of the hill, below the train tracks and on top of a creek, sat the visitor side bleachers. Below is a picture likely taken from the train tracks when the stadium was still used by the Brickies. I've also included an updated picture that shows the old visitor stands still in place and the homeside with new, smaller, stands. I'm not sure what the old Bowl is used for nowadays. Best: Cincinnati St. Xavier. No track surrounding the field so fans are right on top of the action. Very big stadium. Worst: Gary Wirt. There was dog feces on the field.
  8. Yeah, this is going to be UGLY. Warren would be better off playing their JV team that week.
  9. Kudos to the AD's for going out of their way to put a game on the schedule. Should be a fun experience for both teams.
  10. The other conspiracy I've consistantly heard is that it's clearly a setup as these women are all just now coming out. I haven't researched the claims enought to know the timeframe of each, but I do know Kobe's accuser received death threats. It can't be easy to be the first to publically accuse a celebrity of wrong doing. Especially a black celebrity.
  11. The enormous offer Pace put together for Wilson was leaked. Unless I'm missing it, I haven't hord a word about the Bears offering Houston for Watson. Maybe, just maybe, Pace was aware Watson was about to face all of these accusations.
  12. Maybe it was consensual and a shady lawyer is trying to cash in on it. So many different possible storylines. I will say why fly a massage therapist in from Atlanta to Houston if it isn’t sexual?
  13. 100%. Most of what I've seen from the SJW's on Twitter is support for Watson and asking for all facts to come out before casting judgment. Completely opposite of the narrative on Brett Cavanaugh. I've been following loosely. Have any factuals details (Texts, etcs) been provided?
  14. Even worse is it's possible this move shows Nagy/Pace have job security. Bring in a veteran bridge gap to play and/or mentor the QB you're going to pick. Matt could be getting a chance to pick his guy at QB and be given a few years go work with him. Even more worse than that the Bears have $17M in cap space invested in Foles/Dalton.
  15. That headline is potentially very misleading. I immediately think Ryan Turley, which if it isn't him, the headline should include the word assistant.
  16. Yeah, I'm curious to see what the Eagles do. You're timeline with Hurts is accurate. He definately played in 3 different offensive schemes in college. I'm just not sold on him as well. His personality and character are what you would want in a franchise QB.
  17. Ballard is really something else. He knows how to run a team. Only way that conditional pick will end up being significant is if Wentz delivers, which in turn is worth giving up a 1st or 2nd round pick.
  18. To piggy back off of Lysander's comment in another thread, adding Elder and now Cathedral to the future schdule says alot about how confidant Rodenburg and Co. are in Roncalli's short term future.
  19. I would really like to know what the plan is. If George/Ted gave them 1 year to at least make the playoffs then they might as well have fired them. If they have a few years to turn it around, then I would prefer they draft a QB and not leverage 1st to 3rd round draft picks for someone like Carr now that Wentz is off the board. I may be crazy, but I was OK with at least 2 second rounders for Wentz. I have a gut feeling he's going to turn it around and I'm now looking forward to watching the Colts offense next year.
  20. Great for Roncalli. I would imagine Rodenberg will be adding GCL South teams to his schedule whenever feasible.
  21. Will South make the return trip to 169th & Cline or is this a one year affair?
  22. I watched the entire game. Homestead moved the ball in the 1st half, but couldn't force their will Carmel's D when it mattered. Carmel ran the ball down Homestead's throats. Like I said. Carmel's domination typically starts at their line play.
  23. It was 14-7 Carmel at the half and the final was 31-7. Complete domination by Carmel. I watched that game as I was hoping Homestead could pull off the upset. Missing their best player wasn't the difference for the Spartans. It was the complete domination of Carmel's lines. The Hoosier Crossroads is a Conference made up of Homestead's and Carroll's. It's not really surprising when a bottom feeder of the HCC (Noblesville) can compete with an SAC school.
  24. Best 1-9 team in the history of Indiana. Regardless of sport. 😎
