  1. Congrats to Ball State and Indiana. ND's not an Indiana school. They're an extension of Chicago's South Side 😃.
  2. Haha..so true. I would bet my life's savings that one ND fan I know will post something similiar on Facebook. I'm looking forward to the day that Saban decides to not coach college ball anymore. How about Hook 'Em fans? Someone should dampen their expectations and remind them Sark isn't bringing Jones, Harris, Smith, and the entire Alabama O-Line with him to Austin. Irregardless, the way he was using Harris in the 1st half on the motions was a thing of beauty. I haven't watched much of Alabama this year. Was that a new wrinkle for tonight or typical of Sark's playing calling this year?
  3. Yep, and one of those perennial powers, Maine South in Park Ridge, got taken to the woodshed by Warren Central a decade or so ago. New Trier would be an absolute powerhouse in most sports if they didn't lose so much talent to Loyola Acedemy. Hockey is also huge up there. You can see homemade mini ice rinks in a lot of North Shore backyards. I have a friend who played hockey at Cathedral and he said playing New Trier was like playing a minor league youth team.
  4. Miller needs to go. I can't believe we had another WR fragile enough to take the bait of that NO DB. Wims needs to go as well. No point in keeping a WR that will drop key passes when he does get playing time. Looking forward to seeing some house cleaning take place in Lake Forest.
  5. And if you talk to the average Chicagoland HS football fan they'll act like they're watching Texas HS football up there. The population of Chicagoland alone is going to create some really good teams in conferences like the Chicago Catholic League, East Suburban Catholic (think they recently merged with the CCL), DuPage Valley, West Suburban, and the conference that Lincoln Way East, Bolingbrook, Homewood-Flossmoor are in. But, the elite teams in that area are no better than the elite teams in Indiana and Ohio. Unfortunately, they don't leave the Chicago area much for marquee OOC play. In 2019 Loyola played Cleveland St. Ignatius in Michigan City and lost 27-10. Loyola wen 8-4 that year and lost in the 3rd round of the playoffs. Iggy was 5-5.
  6. Yeah. I don't know how anyone could trust this guy long term. It's well written that one of the main reasons Spurrier failed in the NFL, other than Dan Snyder, was that he tried treating it like a 9-5 job. The absence of not having to recruit is probably a plus, but NFL head coaches practically live at their Facility.
  7. Isn’t Palm from the Lake Central or Munster area and a Purdue grad?
  8. That was with Foles throwing for 272 yards and 2 TD, Kamara being held out of the endzone, and it was played in the beginning of November. I'll take the Saints by double digits this time around. The line is 9.5 last I saw.
  9. Payton should have a field day outscheming Pagano. I'm confidant the Saints cruize to a double digit win. Hopefully, the Green Bay game and a 1st round beating will convince George it's time to move on from Phillips and Pace. I have a feeling Nagy is safe and a new GM is not going to resign Mitch. Unless, Mitch is franchised and the Bears groom a drafted QB.
  10. I was close. Figured Ole Miss would eclipse 30. I missed this one. Looks like IU’s offense was a no show for most of the game.
  11. I’m too lazy to look it up. What did Tennessee and Florida do? Is LSU under fire for something other than the sexual abuse handling? It’s unreal their BB coach is still employed.
  12. Houston and Minnesota have awful defenses. Jacksonville may not even try now that the Jets have foolishly handed them Lawrence. Will Green Bay even need to play their starters in week 17? Nagy and Phillips may be saving their jobs with this cushioned wins. I think I'm going to puke.
  13. Interesting. I wasn't aware Ole Miss will be missing players. IMO, this is a pretty big game for IU. It's completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but beating even an average SEC team in a Bowl game is a good image booster.
  14. What is the appeal of Marian? Chicago Heights is a dump and they don't dominate the East Suburban Catholic in football.
  15. Here is what Harrell has so far for Morton's 2021 schedule. It doesn't look like they plan on playing 2nd fiddle to Central...
  16. I think your questions start with Morton. IMO, there's no possible way for Central to become an "Elkhart" if too much of Hammond's talent is stil going to Morton.
  17. Anyone else have a feeling that Ole Miss is going to win by double digits? I don't think IU can keep Kiffin's offense under 28 and IU's offense hasnn't looked great in the post Penix era. The storyline will be that IU didn't belong in the NY6 conversation from those who probably don't even realize they lost a player of Penix's magnitude.
  18. Because SEC fans are lunatics who think their next coach should put them on the Saban/Alabama level. I will give O credit for doing what HC's should do and put together one helluva staff in 2019. He's always toing ot have NFL talent in Baton Rouge. It appears he will always be dependant on the staff he builds around him.
  19. How so? If I'm Mason, who both schools should be targeting, I view LC as the place I'll get better athletes. The guy one quickly at Michigan City. I'm betting it wouldn't take him long to turn LC around. I'm also betting LC wouldn't lose as many players to Andrean and the Illinois Catholics if they were routinely a legiitimate contender in the 6A North and/or have D1 coaches paying attentiont to their roster. I was a little caught off guard by RegionFBFan's comments regarding Marian Catholic. I knew LC kids were going to Chicago Mt. Carmel, but I had no idea they would head west on 30 to Chicago Heights for a school that's not an athletic juggernaut in the East Suburban Catholic.
  20. Out of curiosity, what is Munster's? Housing prices seem grossly inflated there.
  21. Yeah, and the icing on the top was boy genius passing game coordinator who went back to the NFL as an OC with Carolina. It was the perfect storm for O. NFL talent/coaching across the board on offense.
  22. Chicagoland does produce some quality linemen, problem is they've historically viewed Notre Dame and Michigan as options 1 and 1a. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he was out of his element in Fayetteville. But, Wisconsin didn't shed any tears when he decided to leave. The guy isn't the greatest representative for a University: Exhibit A: His drunken antics in Madison. Exhibit B: He alienated all of Texas HS football by telling a coaches clinic they were playing sissy ball. Granted, you'll side with him, but it's probably not a good idea to pi** off HS coaches in a state that borders Arkansas and has enough talent to fill rosters across the Southwest. He's not going to turn Illinois into a power just because Alvarez left him a finely tuned machine.
  23. Yeah, as a Purdue fan, it pains me to say Bloomington is a pretty cool little town. I drove around their downtown area and campus the last time I was down there, which was a few months ago. They have a lot of good night life choices and the campus is definately scenic. I will say though that downtown Lafayette is getting better. And West Lafayette is making strides in improving the village on State Street between Chauncey and Grant. Anyone notice Sam Jackson decommitted? That is a really, really, bad break for Brohm.
  24. I would say as a Purdue fan I would be happy with 7-9 wins a year with a good Bowl game. 10 wins and above is just gravy. College football is a beast.
