  1. But Cathedral didn't break any rules or misbehave to receive the kind of "ruling" handed down by the IHSAA just a few weeks before the season began. I guess the Irish just won too much.
  2. I guess I'll be watching Andy Griffith replays.
  3. To top off the day, WNDY televised the Cathedral at Warren Central game last night and Julian Smith was their choice for Player of the Game. It was a big day for both young men as they received a lot of minutes in last night's 75-40 win.
  4. But Cathedral brought home the trophy!😉
  5. Here is the Indy Star article: Kindness prevails as DOE panel overturns IHSAA on Cathedral transfers
  6. The DOE affiliated Case Review Panel has overruled the IHSAA ruling today, and the three young men are now eligible to play varsity sports at Cathedral!
  7. It's kinda strange that there's no thread about this on the John Harrells basketball site. I'm certainly not going to start one.
  8. First of all, it's good to hear from you! And Tech seems to have the magic potion when it comes to transfers.
  9. Lots of examples of out and out discrimination against Cathedral. This is a blatant one since they came from the same school and received different outcomes. I could list 'em until my old fingers fell off, but I'll spare everyone that. You must get the point by now.
  10. Maybe for most schools! Cathedral being the on the outside of that.
  11. Excellent hire by the 'Hounds!
  12. And the sad part is, Cathedral basketball is rated in the top four in the state, and all five starters from last season returned. This is more about the young men, and their future, than it is helping the Irish basketball succeed.
  13. A couple of years ago, Indianapolis Tech had four transfer starters on their basketball team. Not a sound from the IHSAA transfer board there! And in 2002 Cathedral had a young sophomore, I can't remember his name offhand, but he was a defensive starter, but wanted to be a running back and after he played for the Irish in the early season at Huntington North, transferred to Tech and played against the Irish later that same season! That's just a couple of examples. I could go on!
  14. The Irish moved up a spot to #5 in the CFB rankings. The USC game is vital for the Irish to stay up there. Stranger things have happened, but the Irish should be able to take care of business Saturday afternoon.
  15. Alabama still in the hunt with 3 losses, and a game left with Auburn. No one should be surprised at that. Even if they lose to Auburn they will still be ranked in the top 20, that's just how it is.

    IU 2024

IU came in at #10 on the CFB rankings. Not as bad as it could have been.
  17. Kyle does the best he can under the circumstances. He's a one man band as far as being a high school writer at our local "newspaper." I'm sure he feels he has to stay on the IHSAA side to keep his job. Any controversy would not be beneficial to his career. I have no problem with him being on that side of this situation. Doyel, on the other hand, is a columnist who points out the problems, and hard stories, of the city sports scene. I don't always agree with either of the Indy Star writers, but I do understand discrimination.
  18. His name is Doyel and he actually reviewed in depth the situation. Kyle just seems to take the IHSAA and Mount Vernon's interpretation of things. Your choice how what to believe. It also proves the point that transfers from Cathedral play immediately, and that's not the case when a student transfers to Cathedral. I can site many instances to prove that.
  19. That's OK, we'll just stick with they.
  20. The success factor is indeed a p/p leveler. In fact a short time back, the Commissioner at that time, name omitted, changed the rules just a few weeks before football season, that kept Cathedral from "falling" to a lower level. Now that's real discrimination. And further, as I've stated here every year after the season, if you know of any P/P school violating the laws, contact the IHSAA immediately and report it.
  21. Like! (I guess I'm down to one "like" a day now.
  22. They?
  23. Rick is now the athletic director at Cathedral, so they have a lot of contact between 'em. I guess they have to start the nominating process?
