  1. The Irish offense gave LN 14 points and only scored 7, a nice run by senior RB Jalen Bonds with about 20 seconds left in the game. The Irish defense only allowed 10 points but the game was basically over at halftime, even though LN was only up 7-0. Irish QB Cameron Koers left the game shortly before the end of the first half after throwing a pick six. I'm not so sure he wasn't injured earlier in the game because his throws were erratic much of the first half, which is unusual for him. The Irish had a very good season considering the youth on the team. They were beaten badly only twice this season, against Brownsburg and Lawrence North. They had two other last minute loses to Cincinnati St. Xavier and Warren Central. They finished 6-4 and at last Sagarin they had the 9th toughest schedule in the states, and that doesn't include the loss to St. X. I'm 81 years old but I sure hope I'm still able to get to the games next season to watch this team grow. The Irish freshman team was undefeated, and a lot of young players got a lot of experience this season at the varsity level. Hats off to the Wildcats! They can win it all! Their game next week will be a doozy against Brownsburg.

It should be, let's put it that way.
  3. It's game day! The weather is really good for this time of the year. This game is the Game Of The Week on WNDY, Channel 23, for those who can't make it to LN . I hope to see a lot of Irish fans in the stands!

'Bama may be in with 3 or 4 losses, or so it seems.
  6. There's nothing much better than gameday at Notre Dame Stadium!

  8. That would be just fine for this old Irish alum! I just bought my ticket, so I hope to see a lot of Irish fans at LN on Friday night.
  9. The Irish get #1 for the sectional final. They are getting some injured players back, which may help. But it's a tall order to play the 6A #1 team in the sectional. It should be a dandy!
  10. Another Colt loss, this time without an offensive TD.

    Like!
  12. Riley Leonard has to stay consistent, that means he has to do what he does best, and that's the short pass, with an occasional long one to keep the defense honest, and continue to run the ball when it's open. The Irish defense seems to be getting stronger, especially in the back end. Xavier Watts has had another outstanding season so far and he needs to keep it going. Lots of crazy things happening in this CFB season.

Or so you would think! They deserve a top 10 spot at this junction of the season. Pretty consistent season so far.
  14. This should be an exciting match up! LN has the speed and the Irish are getting healthy. It should be a good one!
  15. In my almost 70 years of watching high school football in Indiana, I cannot remember ever seeing a penalty called after a game had "ended."

It was good to see if the Hoosiers could come back from an early deficit, and they did! Quite handily!
  17. Cathedral 36, North Central 0.
  18. Lawrence North 40, Lawrene Central 9 Cathedral 36, North Central o The sectional final will be played at Lawrence North
  19. It was clear that someone from the Brebeuf sideline did point to the Danville sideline to an official before they gathered to make their decision. It's clear in the replay that was the case. I have deleted my Channel 23 recording so I can't post that. Anyway, it wasn't going to be changed, but they got some clarity, and I hope it helped and they will be able to get over it. It is bad for the seniors that it ended that way but life isn't always fair.
  20. Don't forget that this game will be played at North Central!
  21. BTW, Cathedral will be playing at North Central Friday night. John Harrell has the game listed as being played at Arlington, which is no longer an Irish home field.
  22. My ticket is bought and I can't wait to be out in the November weather, whatever it may be. I just hope it's dry as is predicted.
