  1. Win or lost this one, this is an embarrassment for the Colts. They had a 17-0 lead and thought the game was over, or so it seems, and now they're scuffling to beat the lowly Jags.
  2. I think if tOSU makes it so will Oregon, since the Ducks won the head to head in Columbus.
  3. DiNardo was a great player and a terrible coach.
  4. It seems that the Colts just have a hard time keeping the hammer down. They had a 17-0 lead a few minutes into the game and have had a tough time moving the ball since. They are driving now but for most of the 1st half they've have trouble moving the ball. Taylor is over 100 yards in the first half, most of those coming in the early spurt.
  5. Many years ago at a Cardinal Ritter/Cathedral game, a young Cathedral student said to his mother, "let's go home, this game is boring." His mother's reply, "the Irish are winning 35-0, that's anything but boring." Boring is in the eye of the beholder. Notre Dame just isn't talented, or deep, enough to compete with Georgia, Alabama or Ohio State. I just want them to win out and go to a warm place for a bowl game, where they can get some extra practice and start getting better for next season.
  6. I'm not interested in the Irish making the Final Four. I want them to improve week by week, and get a decent bowl game in a nice location. Not a clean game tonight, but a good game for the Irish. They left some points out there but had enough to win comfortably. The also had a chance to play some players who needed to see the field for experience.
  7. Nice first half for the Irish vs. UVA. They're up 21-0.
  8. I'm still glad I don't have to drive to Bloomington! I hope the weather is dry and I expect the Irish to not be as conservative offensively as they were last night. Also need to cut down the penalties, but we've been saying that all season.
  9. It's difficult to watch today's "performance!"
  10. Back to the subject at hand, I'm still impressed by the maturity of Danny O'Neil. He never seems to get to flustered after being sacked or a bad throw. I'm glad he'll be around for another couple of years. It'll be fun to watch him get even better.
  11. Stats from last night: (30) Cathedral Football on Twitter: "Irish Regional Victory! Cathedral defeats the New Palestine Dragons 23-7! Here is the games final Stats Update: https://t.co/1V8YIXH1lu" / Twitter IIRC, this is the only time the Irish have had more than one turnover in a game.
  12. Thanks. I finally saw the information on another thread. See ya there! Yeah. It seemed a bit out of character for the Irish.
  13. Well that answers that question. I was waiting to hear where next week's game was to be played. 👍
  14. Actually there were 4 field goal attempts as Gomez missed one. He doesn't miss many kicks at all. The offense played very conservatively last night. It is time to spread it around. I really believe that the wind had an effect on the passing game of both teams. I still haven't heard anything officially. Will the game next week be at Tech?
  15. Of course I hope you're right but the Irish have been tested these last two weeks, and hopefully it will be good for them to be tested. it's just good to be playing at home next week, especially for this old fan!
  16. I want to personally thank the New Albany Bulldogs for their win tonight. Driving to Bloomington is not a good thing as of now. It'll be good to be staying at home.
  17. It was rather small. It was on the west side of the parking lot. Most Irish fans didn't arrive until late because of the bad weather, I presume. There was also a gathering at a local bar in the area. You know I always have fun!😊
  18. The Irish didn't play their best, too many penalties and too many turnovers. New Pal had a lot to do with the latter. It was a hard hitting game. I hope that Seth Mencer isn't hurt too badly, as he limped off the field in the 4th quarter after a good night. He must've gained more than 100 yards tonight. I'm still amazed that New Albany beat Bloomington South. Now the Irish will have another home game next week. I presume it will be at Tech. I heard nothing official. Purdue basketball kept the Irish off the over the air broadcast, so there was no Irish post game show.
  19. I still have one. What do you mean, back when? I'll be there early and I hope to see a lot of Irish fans at the tailgate and the game!
  20. No autographs but some good wisdom. Not a bad call on the field the entire game.
  21. I had the distinct pleasure of sitting with Bobref during a St. Eddie/Cathedral game a few years back. Good company!
  22. That sounds like you're describing a certain head coach from Iowa,. Ferentz fits all the description in your 2nd and 3rd sentence.
  23. Tickets are bought and ready to go Friday night!😊
  24. My cardiologist told me if I didn't stop drinking, I was gonna die. Not a tough choice there. I was told to give up caffeine too, and that was tougher than alcohol to quit.
