  1. Too many Irish turnovers led to 3 easy scores for the Warriors. And the final score was 34-26. The Irish drove the ball the Warren Central. 3 with about 25 seconds left but didn't score.
  2. This is the "real" season that's beginning. This is where hardware is the result of winning. Strange things seem to always happen during this season.
  3. North Central at Cathedral Lawrence North at Lawrence Central
  4. Colts won a grinder today 20-16. It helped that the Titans offense was inept. It was a nice win, though with the Colts injury situation. Richardson and Taylor didn't play today. Flacco did a fine job though and the receivers had a very good day.
  5. Thanks for the link and the reminder.
  6. "Bama finally won 27-25. I wonder if you can consider South Caroling a directional school?
  7. An old open wheel racing saying is "If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch."
  8. Cathedral freshmen beat Columbus East28-13. Cathedral JV beat New Pal 19-14
  9. For those still interested, like me, the ND 4th quarter is on CNBC.
  10. That's an interesting question. One that's also impossible to answer, but it does coincide a bit. Roncalli football numbers seemed to be down last night.
  11. Roncalli was much better this season than last. In fact they took the opening kickoff and kept the ball for over 7:30, before turning it over on downs at the one yard line. And do you think it's a coincidence that Center Grove football took off about 20 years ago? I don't believe you build a winning program just by playing weak teams. Cathedral has played Cincinnati St. X since the 90's and have only beaten them three time, for example. Also the enrollment at Roncalli is almost equal to that of Cathedral. I don't know the numbers now but Roncalli had a few more students recently than Cathedral. And the numbers seemed to be down somewhat on the Roncalli sideline also.
  12. The Irish had a slow start, but lead 21-7 at halftime. It looks like they did some serious work, during the bye week, with Riley Leonard throwing the quick slants, and it's paid off.
  13. Things sure have changed since Saban retired at 'Bama! They're scuffling, at home, against South Carolina today.
  14. That doesn't include the Sacred Heart and Chartrand years. The Cathedral/Sacred Heart years were some of the most classic football in both school's history. And there were stretches when the Irish was on the losing end for extended periods.
  15. Cathedral 35, Roncalli 6
  16. Cathedral 35, Roncalli 6 I'm not sure if the Irish had a letdown or what happened, but they looked quit ordinary offensively, except for a couple of touchdown passes. And sadly Roncalli has decided that this was the last game between the two schools for awhile.
  17. It better be a really big rabbit! The Boilers are massive underdogs again this week, and will probably have a tough time covering.
  18. Catholics vs. Catholics is usually hard hitting and fun football. I sure hope that describes tonight's game at Butler. I hope to see a lot of Irish fans at the Bowl tonight. And the weather shouldn't be a factor tonight. The last two times Cathedral has played at the Butler Bowl, it has rained.
  19. There will be no letdown in this game. This is a big rivalry and both teams will be made aware of that.
  20. No wonder they show up late.
  21. I really like playing at the Butler Bowl, but I don't care much for the $10 charge to park in their parking lot. Other than that the sight lines are good with no running track around the playing field.
  22. No bigger rival for these two schools than each other! I'm glad they're back playing each other again.
  23. Cathedral's win against Center Grove, 49-45, was very entertaining, unless of course you prefer a defensive battle. I really enjoy watching two skilled teams going at it. Lots of big plays, and the Irish even played a bit of defense in the 4th quarter.
  24. I only watch to see how many targets and catches Jaron Tibbs gets. I feel bad for him!
