  1. This old Irish fan isn't staying home unless the game gets postponed because of lightning. I've sat through games in worse weather conditions than those predicted. Besides, I already have a ticket.
  2. Frank goes for 4th down early in games, but he's been is not good at closing out games. This isn't the first time he's gone conservative too early. Once you back off, it's very difficult to get it going again. Also I had forgotten the decision to go for two after the 3rd TD. It was way too early to worry about the previous missed XP, and that one point would have won the game. This game was just a gigantic clusterbleep!
  3. Lets get this straight, neither team "likes" to lose! The only thing they're playing for is pride and a bit of bragging rights. Whoever loses, doesn't go home. That's what makes next weeks game more important. Hardware and a 2nd game is at stake starting next week.
  4. I've never been much of a Gruden fan, so it's good riddance as far as I'm concerned.
  5. IMHO, it will be difficult for the Colts to finish at .500. That was a terrible loss.
  6. The defense was in a loose "prevent" in the third quarter after taking the 22-3 lead. It's been a Frank characteristic to pull the plug early when building a nice lead. It hasn't happened much this season, but he does it out of habit, I guess. Frank gets conservative quite often. And when you get right down to it, the kicker cost 'em the game, missing an extra point after the 2nd score and of course missing the las FG try. If he was truly injured, you are correct that they shouldn't have been playing for a FG to win the game. But that's my opinion, yours might vary.
  7. Last night's loss was the worst loss in the 37 year history of the Indianapolis Colts. Frank needs to put away the "prevent" defense when his team gets a "comfortable" lead and he needs to find a new kicker. Going for a two point conversion when up 22-3 was wrong. The two missed extra points and the missed field goal was the difference in the game. Frank's a nice man and a decent X&O coach, but he doesn't know how to win when having a lead. This wasn't the first time this has happened.
  8. Reminds me of George Sefchick back in the 1960's, Joe Perkowski missed a field goal against Syracuse and the Orange are flagged for running over little George the holder. I'm guessing that was 1962. I hate trying to work from my old memory, but I was in ND Stadium that day.
  9. And Bob always does a fine job because he loves high school sports. He is the voice of Friday & Saturday night. He had some health problems a year or so back that kind of slowed him down, but he should be around as long as he wants to.

Texas A&M is kicking a FG with 1 second to play to beat #1 Alabama. it's only 28 yards. It's good! #1 goes down 41-38.

'Bama back on top 38-31 with 5 minutes left. I need to go to bed!
  14. The Irish trailed Virginia Tech 29-21 with 3:55 left. Jack Coan came in and led the Irish to a 32-29 win, yes that Jack Coan. Another page in the Irish lore!
  15. I don't know that, but if you're coming to the game, get there early.
  16. Arlington is far from being "rundown." The only problem with the facility is the inadequate parking, but parking is available in the strip mall next door. The field will not be an issue . Just get there early and you will enjoy the game.
  17. JV - Cathedral 34, Brebeuf Jesuit 12 Freshman - Cathedral 28, Harrison (West Lafayette) 12
  18. I heard on the Irish post game show that the last time Center Grove played on grass was 2017.
  19. Like! (all but cheering for the Trojans) This isn't just the game of the decade, it's the annual game of the century! I just hope both teams come out of this game injury free. It should be a good one. The Irish defense is better than last year, and the offense is getting better week by week.
