  1. I almost forgot the shout out to Cathedral Sr. Sir Johnathon Thompson, #75 DL, for an outstanding rendition of our National Anthem last night!
  2. If you're an Irish fan who still wants the Irish in the CFP, then you must be happy that tOSU is putting the big hurt on MSU today. MSU shouldn't have been rated over the Irish anyway because Purdue beat MSU and Notre Dame beat Purdue. I believe that detail is being taken care of this afternoon.
  3. tOSU has brought out the bulldozer and the road grader in this one. 49-0 at halftime!
  4. BTW, due to the Pacers playing Friday night on Fox Sports Indiana, the 5A championship game will be moved to an off channel. If you have Comcast that channel is CN81.
  5. It's gonna be fun. It's always a good to be at LOS on Thanksgiving weekend.
  6. I think it's interesting that 3 Irish regular season opponents are in the state finals, Brebeuf Jesuit, Center Grove and Westfield.
  7. Irish win 52-13 Irish junior Carson Johnson rushed for 232 yards in the first half. No Irish starter played in the 2nd half. Looks like Zionsville vs. Cathedral in the 5A final next Friday at LOS. Game time estimate 7PM. Can't seem to get any scores on the Harrell site tonight.
  8. You are correct. Our local print media needs a day or two to digest what happened.
  9. Actually, if you want to get technical, Cathedral hasn't had a home game since CYO Field closed in 1976. The Irish traveled to Castle for the semi-state last year. Is that far enough for you?
  10. It's almost game time and thank God! It'll be good to get to the game and leave the peripheral things to others. I hope to see a lot of Irish fans in the Tech stands tonight. The sun is shining and it's cold, which mean that's playoff weather. Dress warm and bring your loud voices.
  11. Not this year we didn't want to travel!😉 Bloomington is difficult to get to with all the I69 construction. Bobby Cox would have been upset with the Irish's lack of travel this playoff, btw.😅 It's all good!
  12. 1973, Bloomington High School, no North or South back then. Bloomington HS had won 60 games in a row and this was the first year for a playoff in Indiana. Bloomington HS almost had more coaches than Cathedral had players, or so it seemed. It was really cold that night as it usually is when you make a long playoff run. The opening kickoff was run back by Cathedral's Vince Gaughn and the Irish went out to a lead with another score shortly thereafter. Anyway the Irish won the game 32-28 and broke Bloomington's long winning streak. It was a fun ride back home! The Irish played at School Field the next week for the 3A championship. They were beaten by South Bend Washington 19-13 in a tight battle.
  13. It seems the IHSAA is trying to make up for the lost revenue from last year. Tickets for the semi state are $10 ea. with a $1.50 service charge for each ticket. It is through an IHSAA site, that everyone must use to purchase tickets in advance. There will be tickets sold at the gate, and this seems to be a thriftier way of gaining admission. That is if the gate price is the same as the advance price. Anyway, we'll be there! GO IRISH!!!!
  14. I believe that the Carmel/ Valpo game was in 1977 as the 1976 3A final was at CYO Field between Merrillville and Cathedral, the last football game ever played there.
  15. I was surprised that New Pal only brought about 40 players to the game Friday night. Is that a normal number for them?
  16. Maybe they should name 'em the Washington Georges.
