  1. Wow, a geography lesson! Who'd a thunk it!😄
  2. The game will be on channel 40 WHMB at 7PM on the net and 10PM on a delayed basis on TV. It's also on SRN network, and both are free. It's also on 1260AM radio live.
  3. Cathedral Freshman 28, Carmel Freshman 7
  4. Oh, I'll be there. It's a nice sunny day and I don't miss too many. I hope to see a lot of Irish fans too, and they will be there tonight.
  5. Carmel JV 28, Cathedral JV 14.
  6. Where are all the Trojan fans? I can't believe they're this quiet the day before the game.
  7. Why does it matter so much if any school is an Indy area school? I don't understand this discussion. Maybe I'm just naive. (thanks Gomer)
  8. Good to see some spirited conversation about this game. Catholics vs. Catholics is never easy. I do hope the Irish are healthier than last week. Lots of good players didn't play. Although it did give some young players a chance to get some valuable experience.
  9. Most years this is a close, hard fought game. It will be interesting to see if that is the case this year. I would guess it will be.
  10. It's Tibbs, Jaron Tibbs. Yes they are both talented. Tibbs has already committed to Purdue and, after seeing their style against Penn State, he should help them immensely if Brohm is still there. Danny O'Neil is also a very special talent. I'm sure glad that Coach Peebles was open to play a sophomore QB last year.
  11. Yep! I knew he was good!
  12. I think Brohm messed up! Throwing the ball, up three, with less than 5 minutes to play is okay, if you're throwing safe passes. Throwing the ball deep on most plays was just not good, imo. I guess he just doesn't believe he has a running game. They didn't run much the entire game. You need a bit of balance.
  13. I like it! The more teams the better! Maybe some year they'll have an all in playoff, hey Bob?😉
  14. I agree with all, Friday night is high school football night! The Pros and Colleges are now playing almost every night of the week, or so it seems, and they should leave Friday nights for the high schoolers!
  15. I have no more likes left, so I'll just respond my liking. I like Tom Allen! I ran into him at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Garage Area in May and he was super cordial. I'm glad to see his team get a win. Listened to the game on the way home from Penn Friday night with an IU alum driving, and we were both happy. I hope they get to a Bowl Game this season.
  16. Brian Kelly looks like he's aged 10 years. He's got a team full of undisciplined players, and he's not used to that. The look on his face looked like he was thinking, "what in the world have I done?" I wish him nothing at LSU. I hope he enjoys the paychecks. The Irish offense just ran out of talent at the end. It wasn't lack of effort, it was just tOSU had a bit more talent. Good days ahead for the Irish! At least they look like a football team coming on the field again!
  17. It was a good trip up north. The game was well worth the effort. It took the Irish a bit to get going, but when they did it was good for this old Irish fan! I thought the offensive line showed improvement in the 2nd half, giving Danny O'Neil more time to find his receivers, and even open up some running lanes for O'Neil and the Irish running backs. Also, the Irish defense stepped up. late in the first half and through the 2nd half. Baby steps, but progress by both. If there's a better wide receiver in the state of Indiana than Jaron Tibbs, I haven't seen him yet. He's an amazing talent. I do hope that some of the injured players get back soon, although it was good to see young players step up and play well. I really enjoyed the Penn facility as this was my first game up there. It was good to have adequate seating for the visiting team. Overall, a first class operation! After returning home at about 1AM, I am sure there will be a nap this afternoon.
  18. It's scheduled for a 7:30 start. The hard part of the trip will be trying to get out of Marion County in the late afternoon.
  19. I agree with you. I watched the St. X/LA game and LA was looked very good. I wish Cathedral and St. X still played also. I don't know what happened with that as they played most years for 20 years or so. Also I may have missed it, but I didn't see Brownsburg on the list. Maybe just an oversight?
  20. I hope you're right about the kicking game. Ben Gomez spoiled the Irish faithful last year with his talents. It's an important part of any team, and its importance is sometimes overlooked by fans.
  21. I hope the Irish have all, or most, of their players back from last week. I sure hope Danny O'Neil especially is OK this week. I'm looking forward to visiting Penn for the first time. I didn't make the trip 2 years ago but we're on our way this year.
  22. Cathedral JV lost to Brownsburg 52-37 Cathedral Freshman won 14-0 over Brownsburg.
  23. I have not indicated that the officials cost the Irish the game. Brownsburg outplayed the Irish and deserved to win. As for the officiating, I'm not whining, I'm stating the truth. Sometimes it's necessary. The Irish defensive effort wasn't up to Cathedral standards at all last night. I'm sure the players and the coaches would agree with that.
