In my time at Cathedral, the football team jogged, ran, to CYO Field, which was at least two miles from school. And, of course, after practice, they ran back to school.
Does anyone know if there will be a Cathedral tailgate for this game? I always arrive early so it doesn't matter to me, but I've had a couple of fans ask me and I really don't know.
Tickets will be available at the gate, cash only.
Well, Cathedral and Cincinnati LaSalle are playing on grass Friday night. Maybe you should come watch that. BTW, I prefer Field Turf. It's sad to see some NFL teams painting the dirt green late in the season. Field Turf should be mandated.
Oh, and if you need lawn service, Turf Dogs handles the grass field at Arlington and do an outstanding job. Well, unless a couple of inches of rain falls on game day. Not much can be done with that situation.
This is usually a very competitive game, and probably will be again this season. It will be interesting to see how the Irish respond to the inactivity the last two weeks. Long range forecast looks good also.
Nice win for the Irish, 45-32. The game was all Irish after the first quarter. The Irish may have had 400 yards rushing today. They didn't throw the ball the entire 4th quarter and moved the ball quite well. The game wasn't near as close as the score indicates. Estime fumbled going in for a touchdown and NC threw a 4th down pass for the final score.
I didn't know you couldn't hit a ball carrier, in the chest with your shoulder. That targeting call looked just a hard tackle. Maybe Bertrand has a hex on him.
Tony Rice was the QB the last time Notre Dame won the Natty. He was an excellent QB all around, just not a good passer.
If thing progress today, and I sure hope it does, Swarbrick, Rees and Freeman may keep their jobs another week.
Should have given the ball to the big guy there!
Cathedral 56, Hammond Morton 0
Also the Cathedral Freshman team beat Southport 44-0 earlier in the week. They, and the JV, play Roncalli in the morning.
