  1. Yeah, CG didn't run much wingT last night. Mostly a spread. I was surprised because they were very successful with the wingT for quite a few years. I guess they didn't have the personnel this season maybe because of the inexperience of their young QB. He threw the ball quite well last night, btw!
  2. I'm not sure what you're trying to say? If you attended the freshman game, could you relay the score please.
  3. Does anyone have the scores from the JV and Freshman games?
  4. Now it's onto the real season, the season where you're playing hardware and rings. Normally I would want Cathedral to play through and not be a bye team but this year they can really use the week off to get healthy. The Plainfield at Decatur Central game leads off this sectional next Friday night and could be a very interesting match-up.
  5. Center Grove had a 42 yard drive for a field goal in the third quarter and there were 45 yards in penalties on Cathedral on the drive. The officiating was far from being acceptable! Just watch the replay! I was told it was down because of Fall Break. It was sparse.
  6. 143 of those yards were against Cathedral. (and those were just the penalties that were accepted)
  7. Cathedral overcame 143 yards in accepted penalties to win 14-9. The Irish are not an undisciplined football team, and this was by far the most penalty yards they have accrued this season. Probably another 50 yards or so were declined by Center Grove. There may have been more personal fouls called in this game, most all on the Irish, than most basketball games. The game is now being shown on a delayed basis on WHMB, channel 40, in Indianapolis. I would advise anyone who wears officials stripes to skip this one. More later.
  8. Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. I hope to see a lot of Irish fans, and Trojan fans, at the tailgate and game tonight!
  9. WHMB, channel 40 in Indianapolis, will be showing this game on a delayed basis. I'm not sure if it can be downloaded.
  10. Doesn't seem to be as much discussion for this game compared to years past. The weather should be better this week and this should be another outstanding game on both sidelines.
  11. There are a few programs on that list that have had great success in the past!
  12. This is nothing more than deja vu all over again. This is the annual, let's discriminate against "unworthy" teams. How about we just leave things alone and let things play out. A seeding wouldn't be a bad idea but it's not totally necessary. You're going to have to play the best somewhere along the line.
  13. Please, NO CLUSTER! We tried it and it didn't work out at all! Just let everyone participate and things weed themselves out!
  14. If you do make it to Tech Friday, please come by and enjoy the Cathedral tailgate!
  15. OK, I goofed again. 10-25, Plainfield at Decatur Central 11-1, Terre Haute North vs. winner of game 1 11-1 Terre Haute South at Cathedral 11-8, Championship game ( not able to edit previous post)
  16. 11-1, Plainfield at Decatur Central 11-8, Terre Haute North vs. the winner of game 1 11-8, Terre Haute South at Cathedral 11-15 Championship game
  17. I disagree, USC is very ordinary.
  18. I'm mixed on this one. I feel that it's OK for coaches to move around so maybe it should be OK for the players too. I do agree that this is creating a real wild scene.
  19. I agree Bob. Rival or not they should have taken USC to the woodshed! It seems they played a prevent defense, especially in the 2nd half. It seemed they just wanted to coast at times. I sure was glad to see Markese have a big game. I talked to his dad recently and he said he's be ready for this one. He needs to get the rock on a regular basis, imo.
  20. Markese is a very smart young man but evidently not smart enough for Notre Dame. It was not his choice to forgo his commitment to the Irish. Everything has ended up well and Markese should have a very successful career at USC. He was awesome last night for sure. I sure hope he stays healthy during his college career.
