    This is the only drawback. I like the rule, but I hope my team isn't on the wrong side of it.

    Probably the biggest DL the Irish have had in years, maybe ever. In previous years, speed was the big factor in the DL. Now it seems clogging the middle is being addressed. Lots of youth on the offensive line. The OL opened up some huge holes for the runners and held up nicely in pass protection. Now it's on to Cincinnati and Moeller next week.

    Cathedral 42, Noblesville 14. Got to see the new "mercy rule" enacted. I really like it.

    I was at the Cathedral/Noblesville game. Weather was outstanding! I'm glad I brought a light jacket. It got a bit chilly before the game was over.

    Cathedral 42, Noblesville 14. Nice win for the Irish. They need to cut down on the penalties and turnovers. Two turnovers in the first half. You were close. Noblesville scored in the last minute. I like the new mercy rule. The only drawback is that it limits the number of players the winning coach gets to play.

    This is true. #58 (iirc) was on the field almost to the end and he's a big young man! I guess some coaches see it as any opportunity to get reps for the starters and other coaches see it as an opportunity to get all their players on film. I do hope the injured Avon player will be OK. It was a bad collision! If any Avon supporter has any general information on his condition, please post it here.

    Three consecutive Freshmen undefeated seasons against a pretty tough schedule says otherwise. We'll know more after tonight though.

    I'm still here! I'll know more about Cathedral after the scrimmage against Avon tonight.

    This is the day we've been looking forward to. The regular season doesn't begin until next week but we get to hear the pads crack tonight with the scrimmages. I'll be at Tech to watch Cathedral vs. Avon.

    There was no whining or special "rules" when Sheridan was winning all their state championships. Different time I guess. Or maybe they weren't a private school. And you do realize that Cathedral hasn't won a state championship since 2014?

    That's true. Let's not fool ourselves, this is the Cathedral ruling! If there was any question about Bobby Cox and his dislike (mild term) for Cathedral football, this answers them. GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!
