Johnathan Taylor is one of the best draft picks ever for the Colts. He's a big time talent! Michael Pittman is also coming along as a big time receiver. And Carson Wentz played well, and didn't throw the ball to the other team.

It was only 7-0 at the half, and to be honest Decatur Central outplayed the Irish by a wide margin. It was a different story in the 2nd half as the Irish wore down the Hawks and pulled away to a 31-7 win. Mr. Javon Tracy is the real deal. He never left the field. He QB's, he RB's and he plays defense and runs back kicks. He's just an outstanding football player! But even he slowed down in the 2nd half. Hats off to the Decatur Central Hawks for a well played game. Numbers did them in. Bryce Llewellyn had the hat trick in the first quarter, three interceptions. Seth Mencer ran for more than 100 yards. It should help the Irish moving forward to be contested as they were tonight. Now onto New Pal at Tech next week for the Irish.

Well, for one thing, they don't have to play their #3 QB too often. Frank did pull the plug late again tonight. Evidently Frank has a personal mercy rule.😏

I believe Doyel was suggesting that Wentz be benched so the Colts don't lose a first round draft pick, as they will if Wentz plays 75% of the Colt games. Making the playoffs isn't completely gone but it's going to take a lot of circumstances beyond the Colt's winning out to accomplish that.

I've been to Army games also at Notre Dame Stadium and it's always delightful to talk with, or to just speak to, the Cadets and the Midshipmen. They are always respectful. The stadium just seems a lot livelier when the Service Acadamies are there. Some just get too wound up with results when it comes to sports. Sometimes it's just nice to enjoy the atmosphere as much as the scoreboard.

IMO, the continuation of this thread proves my point. You either love 'em or hate 'em, there's no, or not much, in between. Cathedral is a small school, neighborhood locked, that has no place to expand and therefore very few voucher recipients. I took an entrance exam in 1957 and the same criteria applies today. Our young men, and women, work hard at their sport year around and they have extremely good coaching. The academics are pretty good also.

I finally managed to work my way through the rest of this thread, and it's amusing that there are those who have never seen a Cathedral game in person, or has seen very few, that know so much about the school and it's football team. For a school with only 1062 students, some of those not eligible to play football by gender, the Irish seem to do well enough to get these type of responses from non fans. I find that to be somewhat of an honor to get this kind of reaction. Hate the Irish or love the Irish, the Irish play their hearts out, most of the time. No, the Irish aren't the greatest of all time, but they play hard, against anyone, anywhere.

I haven't read this entire thread, but this year's Irish are no where near as good as 2020. 2020 may have been the toughest schedule in my years of watching Cathedral football and they came 16.4 seconds from an unbeaten team. Defensively this year's team is better, but on balance the 2020 team was one of the best in the history of Cathedral football. IMO, only the 1963 team, they only allowed 18 points the entire season, and the 11996 team were on par with the 2020 team. Looking forward to Friday night and some dry weather, I hope. It's playoff time!!!!
