  1. I've been to Army games also at Notre Dame Stadium and it's always delightful to talk with, or to just speak to, the Cadets and the Midshipmen. They are always respectful. The stadium just seems a lot livelier when the Service Acadamies are there. Some just get too wound up with results when it comes to sports. Sometimes it's just nice to enjoy the atmosphere as much as the scoreboard.
  2. Yes you are. Like!
  3. IMO, Steele was a steal for the Cardinals!
  4. I'm really impressed that you can speak Potawatomese!😄
  5. I doubt that toilet paper throwing is much a problem with it in short supply.
  6. Sometimes I'm not sure you can count to 10.☺️
  7. IMO, the continuation of this thread proves my point. You either love 'em or hate 'em, there's no, or not much, in between. Cathedral is a small school, neighborhood locked, that has no place to expand and therefore very few voucher recipients. I took an entrance exam in 1957 and the same criteria applies today. Our young men, and women, work hard at their sport year around and they have extremely good coaching. The academics are pretty good also.
  8. Thanks Bob!
  9. You win, as usual. in your own mind. BTW, how many ND/Navy games have you seen in person?
  10. I finally managed to work my way through the rest of this thread, and it's amusing that there are those who have never seen a Cathedral game in person, or has seen very few, that know so much about the school and it's football team. For a school with only 1062 students, some of those not eligible to play football by gender, the Irish seem to do well enough to get these type of responses from non fans. I find that to be somewhat of an honor to get this kind of reaction. Hate the Irish or love the Irish, the Irish play their hearts out, most of the time. No, the Irish aren't the greatest of all time, but they play hard, against anyone, anywhere.
  11. I haven't read this entire thread, but this year's Irish are no where near as good as 2020. 2020 may have been the toughest schedule in my years of watching Cathedral football and they came 16.4 seconds from an unbeaten team. Defensively this year's team is better, but on balance the 2020 team was one of the best in the history of Cathedral football. IMO, only the 1963 team, they only allowed 18 points the entire season, and the 11996 team were on par with the 2020 team. Looking forward to Friday night and some dry weather, I hope. It's playoff time!!!!
  12. So you can't hit a QB too high or you can't hit 'em too low?
  13. IYHO
  14. Tickets are bought and the forecast, so far, is for dry weather!
  15. I've been lucky enough to have personally seen about a dozen ND/Navy games. Some were stinkers, a lot of 'em were hard hitting close games. ( I had a cousin with season tickets that just wasn't interested in this game) In fact I may have seen more Notre Dame games, in person, in my long lifetime, than temp has seen total football games in person. Just guessing of course.😊
  16. A for instance, today a Colt tackler hit the Tennessee QB around the ankles as he released the ball and it was called. Maybe it is just my imagination but it seemed that the hit had to be high or really late for roughing to be called. Oh well. thanks for the update, Bob.
  17. I hate to sound like Lou Holtz, but a lot can happen during a game, and that's why they play. DC beat the Irish down there 3 years ago. I just hope the Irish aren't looking ahead.
  18. As another Notre Dame fan, I agree with you. I would like to see the Irish get a nice Bowl Game somewhere warm and get some extra practice and get ready for the spring. I don't want to see them fed to them fed to the wolves. And I love seeing Harbaugh clutching his throat.
  19. Tough loss today! Brett Favre was about the only QB that could throw into coverage and Wentz ain't no Brett Favre, but not many QBs are or have been.
  20. That's evident, Bob. If there was any doubt before, that was taken care of last night.
  21. This could be an interesting game. 5A #1 and #2, in some polls, could be one of the best games of the week.
  22. I could be spoiled, and I'm glad the Irish are winning, but they are much more talented than they're playing. Kyle Hamilton's absence was more key than I imagined. I realize he's the heart and soul of the defense but no one seemed to want to step up in his absence.
  23. Is it my imagination or has the criteria for roughing the passer changed this year at all levels? I'm all for protecting the QB but I've seen some ordinary football hits that have gotten flagged this season. It makes me think they should just put the red vest on the QBs and make 'em off limits.
