  1. This has been discussed more times than I can count since being a part of the GID dating back to the oldest format with TA at the helm (6A prior to that 5A). There are many factors (not just one) as an answer to that. I didn't bring anything up just asked a simple question. Look I'm sorry you and others are aggravated by my opinion that Center Grove will beat FW Carroll. I am entitled to that opinion and stand by it. If they don't then I will eat my crow. Nothing you or any one else post will change my opinion. Gameday is Friday we will soon find out.
  2. Can you give me a reason why you wouldn't hear that? If you look at 6A and 5A (it has been dominated by Indy area schools). Sucks to look at for those outside of Indy area schools but it is the truth.
  3. No I did not find it weird. The IndyStar sends out and/or contracts photographers and/or videographers to several games. Those photographers and videographer are not the ones writing the articles. They will send those photographers and videographers to games that Indianapolis and surrounding county teams are playing in. HSE is one of those surrounding county teams. The ones writing the articles can't be at multiple games. The ones writing the articles covered: Torres - Bishop Chatard vs West Lafayette Neddenreip - Cathedral vs Center Grove Glespie - Roncalli vs East Central Haenchen - Lutheran vs North Decatur
  4. Yes HSE was the number 1 team in the State via rankings after beating Brownsburg 31-28. Brownsburg had a 28-14 lead at halftime, Brownsburg's star QB Whitaker was injured shortly before halftime and did not play the 2nd half. Brownsburg did not score in the 2nd half as a direct result, and HSE came back and won the game. If it makes you feel any better I would have the same sentiment if HSE were playing Center Grove in the State Finals instead of Carroll after what CG did to Cathedral.
  5. What was not factual about my statement: "Jefferson vs Cathedral and Jefferson vs Carroll both teams were healthy" Both teams were healthy in the games. I didn't mention anything about the personnel changes. Many teams are playing some different personnel come playoffs after finding areas to improve on. I only made the statement the teams were healthy, something that Cathedral was not against Penn having 2 key players down.
  6. FW Carroll did not hold Lafayette Jeff to their lowest point total all season. Jeff scored 20 points against Carroll, Cathedral held Jeff to 12 points. I can be called a naysayer and will accept that. I fully believe Center Grove will beat Carroll rather easily, Carroll will battle but CG will overmatch them physically and with experience. I may be wrong who knows and I will eat my crow if I am.
  7. Cathedral struggled with Penn for 1 half (missing several players like their top TE (Wooten) and RB (Johnson) who just ran for 226 yards against CG). Cathedral still dismantled Penn 35-21. Jefferson vs Cathedral and Jefferson vs Carroll both teams were healthy. The Final score of Carroll vs Jeff 21-20 and Jeff had the ball 3rd and goal from the 2 in the middle of the 4th, and then even got another shot. The Penn Cathedral game was never in doubt in the 2nd half. I wouldn't compare the two games. Regardless nothing will change my sentiment. Carroll has had a great season and just getting to Lucas Oil Stadium is a great feat and neat experience for their players. When the ball is kicked on Friday night though they will be in for a tough night. They will battle but will be overmatched. As far as HSE's last 2 victories over Westfield and Fishers being close. #1 Fishers and HSE is a huge rivalry game, Fisher's is the split off from HSE growing too big that they had to make 2 High Schools. Westfield is in their conference they see both these teams EVERY year in the regular season. Of course I would expect it to be close tight games.
  8. Does this mean the Ole StinkTownClown is going Soft with a capital "s" on us?!?! We need to get @Donnie Bakerto pull the corn cob out of your @$$ and get you back to normalcy (I am sure he will tell you right to your face). 😂
  9. I like the FW Carroll team and how hard they play. I personally think HSE is not undefeated if Brownsburg's QB is healthy and plays the second half as I feel Brownsburg would have beat them by at least 2 TD's (that is just a personal opinion). The one glaring thing that makes it tough for me to not say CG dominates this game is Lafayette Jefferson. Carroll won 21-20 (were on the brink of losing that). Lafayette Jefferson was pretty much dismantled and blown out by Cathedral. With a terrific Cathedral offense and at the time (week 1) a weak but learning Cathedral defense (they were 100% better by the time they played Semi-State, but were shaky in the first 3 weeks with 9 new starters). If Carroll only threw up 21 points against Lafayette Jeff (understanding teams improve so did CG) and allowed 20 points against Lafayette Jeff. It doesn't look good when you have to play a team like Center Grove who will be solid Offensively and defensively. I could be totally wrong and Carroll could come out and lay the smack down, if that happens I will eat every bit of that crow. I thing CG wins very easily, if any team was going to knock CG off it was going to be Cathedral.
  10. I agree with this post 100%. Cathedral has had a lot of games with very good passing numbers. In this game however they needed to just ride their run game. It became obvious CG wanted to take away the pass and force the Irish to run and they did very well with it when they did. In the second qtr they went away from the run and sacks and penalties put them in the hole forcing them to punt into the wind. Every possession CG had in the second qtr was inside the 50 (a couple inside the 40. In hindsight probably should have stuck with the run and went to short passes with 3 step drop. The Cathedral defense although stats won't totally show played really well. The offense put them in bad positions giving CG a short field. The biggest issue I saw with Cathedral's defense at time was wrapping up, there were a couple of runs they hit the RB in the backfield or at LOS and didn't wrap up. The terrific CG backs turned those into HUGE runs. Special teams were not helpfull. When you give the ball to the other team on all their scoring drives inside the 50 it hasn't been a good nght for Special Teams. Also can't settle for FG's (or an INT trying to force something) inside the Redzone against a great team like CG. Great learning experience this year for a terrific young QB for Cathedral. Kid is only a Junior and had probably his worst game. Congrats to CG they didn't start out great but kept battling. I also want to say RB #3 Johnson is a warrior, he is fun to watch always pumping his legs even though he is not a big RB.
  11. Some doubt for Center Grove in this one? I don't think there is any doubt. FW Carroll has had a great season and should garner respect. Even with their win against HSE, it won't be as good of a game as many would hope. I say that because I look at their 21-20 win over Lafayette Jefferson. That really to me garners attention. The same Lafayette Jefferson team that lost to Cathedral 43-12. Center Grove will not be Lafayette Jefferson or HSE. They will present some problems for Carroll no matter how good many feel their defense is. I think CG has seen plenty of good defense's and offense's and won't be in awe with being at Lucas Oil Stadium. Center Grove is very disciplined in what they do. I will take CG 35-10 or 35-17.
  12. The neat thing about Bishop Chatard football is they post their roster with the elementary school each player attended. I think maybe 2 on the entire roster didn't attend a Catholic elementary school. Apparently the cheating starts with getting to them before they start Kindergarten 😂🤣 https://bishopchatardathletics.org/wp-content/uploads/Football-Roster.pdf
  13. Actually if you read the title of the thread it says "Cinderella is a myth" and this statement was made: "One of the biggest talking points for keeping the all-in is this roundabout myth that bottom half Sagarin teams flourish in the state tournament. Short answer is....they don't." Yet here we sit with a bottom half Sagarin team flourishing and being the Cinderella that is a myth in Monrovia after beating respectable teams in Speedway, Danville, and Owen Valley. That makes them very relevant. I mean the data has only been tracked for a recent amount of time. For the other data only Sagarin data after the State Championships (which is completely different than week 9) was used. You can have a team that was in the lower half after week 9, but after the State Championship they could have been in the bottom half
  14. Oh I fully understand you were doing it in fun. Just love taking blows at Flerf's (flatheads any chance I can not meaning you). While having fun save some time on the hundred miles and drive however many miles it takes to go to an ocean. Watch a ship go out to sea and explain what happens.
  15. Time travel didn't seem to have an effect on IMG Academy. Their 1 loss was at home compared to their wins in St. Louis, Utah, Alabama, At least we know they kept him in shape!
  16. I would say I would donate $30 if you could provide factual evidence and disprove the curvature of the Earth, however I know the GID would never receive my donation. So I will donate at the first of the year when the curvature of the Earth has completed a full orbit around the sun.
  17. If you are on a Charter Bus you don't need to stop for a bathroom break. There is a toilet on the bus to be used.
  18. I didn't sell Brotherton short. I gave the leading rusher from both teams in their week 9 match up and said they are both terrific backs. Brotherton is a terrific back too.
  19. I have seen this 2 times now. Week 9 Roncalli at East Central Rushing (Car-Yds): Roncalli - Luke Hansen 29-120 East Central - Josh Ringer 26-117 Looks like they are both terrific RB's to me. Like I stated before, if East Central turns the ball over (2 Int's 2 Fum in week 9) it will not go the way they hope. If they don't they have a very good shot at winning this game. Both teams are hard nosed and physical.
  20. Bigfoot and a Cinderella Story are 2 different things though. One people claim to have sightings, the other there is real life statistical and even game footage of it happening that is unedited with no photoshop images. No matter how insignificant you deem it, it is there and is undeniable. It has no comparison to a public health official coming out and saying it is a myth that jumping off the golden gate bridge is dangerous because one person one time survived. It has happened and no matter if it is a rare occurrence or not it is still a possibility which in a contrary position would not be possible. I know there is the steadfast turn the blind eye look of denial because it only happened this year. In all honesty the data is skewed towards an only rather recent study of it. Some of the other data (using sagarin) came only using past data after the fact of the season. There may (or may not) have been more teams outside of the top half with similar outside the top half of sagarin. That is impossible to judge because sagarin changes week by week. When you go pull data after a State Championship it won't be the same as the end of the regular season. Just like this year Monrovia after last week will get a boost in sagarin compared to where they were in week 8 because of their upset wins. You can't however deny and say that "Cinderella is a myth" when a dispute of that is smacking you right in the face.
