  1. I wasn't surprised there was a close game between Brownsburg and Noblesville. For starters it was a conference game they play each other every year. Secondly Noblesville runs an Offense that gives teams fits because they just don't see it often anymore. Their T-formation just does not get ran by many teams, but what it can do is eat up clock and limit the other teams possessions. if you look at the scores of the game the Millers usually stay within 7 points. They are 2-6 but a scary team to face because with their ball control offense they usually keep themselves in a manageable game they just haven't climbed over that hump yet to get the W's. Doing a National top 100 though is tough because those types of things can not be seen in an overall look. I did get to see Owasso play Jenks this year while I was in Oklahoma, they are a very good football team. Indiana does not look to be one of their best years on a National level. The level of play is the same as other years, but there is a lot more parity with multiple teams playing at a high level in the largest class but really not 1 dominant team. It didn't lend itself very well on a National level though. You do a great job with your top 100 Whiteshoe's, I usually peek at it and go find film on a couple of the top 25 teams you list just to see them in action when I have the chance.
  2. Unfortunately being a new Head Coach doesn't always equal to seeing potential amongst fans, parents, etc. I will give a prime example after 7 years at Evansville Reitz (5 Sectional Titles, 2 Regionals, 1 Semi-State, 1 State Title) Coach Hart took the job at Warren Central in 2008 and was under heavy fire from the start as not being the right fit. In 4 years (2008-2011) at Warren Central (2 Sectional Titles, 1 Regional, 1 Semi-State, 1 State Title) he amassed a 42-8 record and ended up leaving for Illinois to coach at Huntley were in 4 years he went 2012 6-4, 2013 4-5, 2014 8-2, and 2015 10-1. He left Huntley to take the HC job at Brownsburg while it hasn't translated to a State Championship he has done well at Brownsburg with a record of 77-18. Just an example of how new HC isn't always seen as having potential (even if it unwarranted).
  3. Elkhart recruits: DL - SR Dye (Tennessee), DL - SR Orozco (Miami OH), DL - SR McFee (Cincinatti) Warren Central recruits: DL - SR Shanklin (LSU), DE - SR Burris (Louisville), S - SR Rollins (Miami OH), OL Herron (Notre Dame). Also DL - JR Finch (offers from Wisconsin, Indiana, Notre Dame, Louisville, Purdue), DL - SR Bell (offer Miami OH), DE - SR Guess (offers Toledo, Eastern Michigan)
  4. Speed is speed and I have Tractor Speed these days.
  5. I will give you a answer from my perspective. 1.) Carmel - I don't think anyone can figure out what is going on with the Hounds. Their wins have been over Homestead who has had a couple average seasons lately, Centerville OH who is 5-3 and a struggling North central team. They played well against Westfield early in the season but since have lost to 4A Brebeuf (a shocker even though the Braves can score) and blown out by Ben Davis and Warren Central. It will be tough for them in the tournament but they are fully capable of getting a win if they play to their capabilities and haven't packed it in. 2.) Brownsburg - The tough thing about the South bracket is it can be brutal. Brownsburg is in a sectional with Ben Davis and Avon and when they are good it is tough. If you want to make it to State you (as Brownsburg learned the last 2 years) you have to bring your A game. The last 3 seasons they have lost to Ben Davis 2 times and Cathedral. Over looking it Brownsburg was able to stay good but while they stayed steady Ben Davis and Cathedral improved. Last year was simply blunders in crunch time of the 4th quarter from play calls, clock management, and fundamentals. I would bet that was a focus in the off season. They have athletes at all skill positions, a HUGE O-line, and 2 very capable QB's. Defense has been inconsistent at times but good enough to win in their bad days. 3.) Penn - I am not sure what happened to Penn they seemed promising wih that opening victory against Valpo then lost to Mishawaka and they dropped the close one to Elkhart. We have a couple good posters from the Penn area on here. I am wondering if they see potential. Do they think the players are trending either way under Coach Riordan in his first year at the helm. Having Penn solid again will only make the North 6A bracket better. 4.) Center Grove - No the well is not dry for the Trojans. They had a back and forth game with Cathedral, Cathedral just made 2 or 3 more effort plays late in the game than Center Grove did. CG had 314 yards passing and 226 rushing against the Irish. With Lawrence North they had 252 passing and 171 rushing. Both Cathedral and Lawrence North have fast RB's and WR's that CG had trouble stopping. CG throws the ball a bit more and turnovers (Interceptions) hurt them at key times in both games. Against Cathedral the end of the game and against LN it kept them from tightening up the ball game and allowed LN to extend their lead. CG is fine and if I am a Head Coach wouldn't want to see them in the tournament. 5.) Fishers- The Tigers are much better with Sturgill at QB. He is injured right now and not sure how long he is out. They are still okay without him but a lot better with him. Winning in the Hoosier Crossroads is tough. The last 2 weeks they lost to Franklin central who has found their stride and doors blown off by Westfield, they did play Brownsburg very very tight. They play Zionsville who is not a bad team even though they are 3-5 Eugene Hilton (TY Hilton's son) can give teams fits. It won't be easy for Fishers but they are much better with Sturgill at QB and they are capable of playing with the big boys. 6.) Westfield - To me the Rocks and the Brownsburg Bulldogs were who I felt had the best chance of playing in the State Championship. Westfield is very physical on defense and running the football (Webster plays both sides of the ball), but they also throw the ball very well. They lost to Brownsburg 17-13 at Brownsburg game moved to a Saturday, their QB Melvin (Bowling Green commit) was knocked out of the game in the 3rd qtr and didn't return. It was a great game to watch in person. Their HC from last year (Jake Gilbert) went to Wabash College (he was a Wabash grad) to be DC and Head Coach in waiting as Wabash's HC is retiring after this year. Coach Miracle worked on Gilbert staff as DC so everything in their system is exactly the same. Yes I think Westfield is very capable of a State title.
  6. Perhaps heavy was too harsh of a term. I have: North: Westfield 40% Crown point 25% HSE 10% Fishers 10% Carroll 10% Field 5% South: Brownsburg 30% Lawrence North 25% Cathedral 15% Center Grove 15% Warren Central 10% Field 5%
  7. Got to watch some of the Toledo at Buffalo game Saturday while doing some things around the house. Tough loss for the Rockets but got to watch your boy make some tackles led the team with 12. Was great to watch him play for a little bit.
  8. There is no reading comprehension issue Dwenger has nothing to do with your statement. It is what BTF is harboring over from the Cathedral vs Roncalli thread thus the personal attacks, belittling, and name-calling etc. You stated you are with him on everything else except what I posted about Crown Point breakdown vs a Indy schedule. So I stated "it is all good" and asking "Shouldn’t Dwenger have a better record than 1-8 to be considered on equal footing” means you (me in other words) have a vendetta against all of Fort Wayne. Even though I have no bad words for Fort Wayne.
  9. I feel Crown Point or Westfield as the heavy favorite. Carroll, Hamilton Southeastern, and Fishers could be spoilers (if Fishers QB is healthy of course). From the South Brownsburg and Lawrence North are the favorites. Cathedral, Center Grove, Warren Central are the spoilers.
  10. Not sure what it has to do with it, but no I don't live in Indianapolis.
  11. 6A Sectional 1: Coach Buzea will lead his Crown Point Bulldogs to another Sectional Championship. The Bulldogs will be too much for the Penn Kingsman to overcome. Crown Point handles Penn taking the Sectional 1 crown. 6A Sectional 2: Coach Tippman will have his Snider Panthers ready to play knocking off Elkhart setting up a rematch with Coach Dinan's Carroll Chargers after they beat Northrop easily. Carroll wins the Sectional 2 crown after the Panthers put up a big fight in a closer 26-20 type of game. This sets up Carroll to give the Crown Point one of their biggest tests this season in Regionals. 6A Sectional 3: I will take the Zionsville Eagles to end a terrible season for the Carmel Greyhounds. Westfield cruises over Harrison WL as the Raiders have had a decent season. Coach Miracle leads the Westfield Shamrocks to his first Sectional title over Zionsville. 6A Sectional 4: Coach Sharpe gives teams fits with his ball control offense and Noblesville is no easy out. If Fishers QB is healthy they win a close one with the Noblesville Millers. Coach Kelly leads his HSE Royals to a victory over the Homestead Spartans setting up a rematch with the Fishers Tigers. HSE vs Fishers is such a tough game to pick, I will take the HSE Royals to avenge a earlier loss in the rivalry game. 6A Sectional 5: Brownsburg cruises over an improved but not quite there Avon team. Ben Davis has improved and dispatches Pike to set-up a rematch at Ben Davis between the Bulldogs and the Giants. Brownsburg gets the revenge they have waited 365 days for and has a small moment of relief before they have to turn around and head into a showdown for Sectional 5 vs Sectional 6 Regional. 6A Sectional 6: Cathedral cruises past North Central in round 1. Lawrence North dispatches Lawrence Central after the Bears put up a fight setting up a Cathedral at Lawrence North showdown for the Sectional Championship. My heart wants to go with Cathedral with the Irish exploiting mistakes that the Wildcats tend to make, this is a tough one to pick and a doozy of a game. I feel like Lawrence North might make a play or 2 with their tremendous athletes to get Coach Mallory a Sectional Championship at home. 6A Sectional 7: Definitely the weakest Sectional in 6A, I would much rather see Valpo, Warsaw, Whiteland, Merrillville, or Lafayette Jefferson in 6A than Tech to be honest Whitelandf is the only team of those that would go to the South bracket. The Perry Meridian Falcons have been trying to play spoiler and will handle their rival Southport. Warren Central will beat Tech easily and are way too much for the Perry Meridian Falcons, The Warriors cruise to another easy sectional Championship. 6A Sectional 8: The Franklin Central Flashes at the Columbus North Bulldogs is a tough one to pick. Both teams have played very well and I like what Columbus North has been doing this year. I will pick Coach West to lead his Flashes in a close win over the Bulldogs. Center Grove will walk through Jeffersonville. Coach Moore will lead the CG Trojans to another Sectional Championship at Center Grove, the Flashes will put up a good fight but the Trojans offense will be too much for them.
  12. It’s all good, apparently when you ask “Shouldn’t Dwenger have better record than 1-8 to be considered on equal footing” means you have a vendetta against all of Fort Wayne. Nah, just put up or shut up, until then the statistics speak for themselves.
  13. Again, I won't stoop to your level. Nice try though. Where did I state it was "my Top 10". I gave you the Top 10 teams for 6A listed by Calpreps nothing more nothing less not my Top 10 (see blow). I'll let you get back to your digging, your fury blinds you.
  14. Popping cheese curds like tic-tacs.
  15. I totally understand. Calpreps is an algorithm so they give whatever the number shows. lol
  16. Compared your Top 25 poll to Calpreps today. Looks like your not far off from their algorithm aside from a few. Not an easy thing to do keeping up a Top 25. Good job @temptation (first team name Temp's top 25 second Calpreps) 1. Lawrence North / Brownsburg 2. Brownsburg / Lawrence North 3. Westfield / Westfield 4. Crown Point / Cathedral 5. Cathedral / Warren Central 6. Center Grove / Crown Point 7. Warren Central / Center Grove 8. New Palestine / Bishop Chatard 9. Bishop Chatard / Hamilton Southeastern 10. Hamilton Southeastern / Columbus North 11. Carroll (F.W.) / Ben Davis 12. Ev. Memorial / Franklin Central 13. Columbus North / Pike 14. F.W. Snider / Carroll (F.W.) 15. East Central / Fishers 16. Franklin Central / Zionsville 17. Martinsville / New Palestine 18. Decatur Central / Concord 19. Merrillville / Lawrence Central 20. Lafayette Jefferson / F.W. Snider 21. Concord / Ev. Memorial 22. Mishawaka / Merrillville 23. Elkhart / Martinsville 24. Heritage Hills / Roncalli 25. Fishers / East Central
  17. @temptation has Crown Point at #4 which is recognition. Where specifically has Crown Point "not" been given recognition. Honestly saying we have to wait and see how they do against a Westfield, HSE, Fishers is not a bad thing. It means there is no real barometer of where they stand fully without seeing them play a calibur of team like Westfield. I will give you some: Brownsburg - FW Dwenger, @ Cathedral, @ Franklin Central, Avon, @ Fishers, Westfield, @ Zionsville, Noblesville, @ Hamilton Southeastern (I have Crown Point at 6-3 or 7-2 so far with 1 game remaining Brownsburg is 7-0) Cathedral - @ Ben Davis, Brownsburg, @ Cincinnati St. Xavier, @ Chatard, North Central, Center Grove, Roncalli, @ Warren Central (I have Crown Point at 4-4 or 5-3 so far with 1 game remaining Cathedral is 5-2) Center Grove - Westfield, Carroll (FW), @ Louisville Trinity, @ Ben Davis, Trotwood-Madison OH, Lawrence Central, @ Cathedral, @ Lawrence North, St. Frances Maryland (I have Crown Point at 4-5 or 5-4 so far with 1 game remaining Center Grove is 5-3) Lawrence North - @ Lawrence Central, @ FW North, @ Wayne OH, North Central, Tech, @ Ben Davis, @ Warren Central, Center Grove, @ Pike (I have Crown Point at 7-2 or 6-3 so far with 1 game remaining Lawrence North is 8-0) Westfield - @ Center Grove, Carmel, Zionsville, @ Noblesvile, Hamilton Southeastern, @ Brownsburg, Avon, @ Fishers, Franklin Central (I have Crown Point at 6-3 or 7-2 so far with 1 game remaining Westfield is 7-1)
  18. Sets up nicely for Lawrence North too as the Sectional Championship will be at LN although Cathedral got the big break with drawing North Central in the opener.
  19. All great points, there were 3 games though under 30, they scored 28 against Carmel in a 28-27 victory. Tri-West won 27-7 called at halftime Roncalli lost 18-37 Carmel won 28-27
  20. This is what you've resorted to. Nice, tells me all I need to know. Carry on if belittling makes you sleep better at night, it doesn't bother me and I won't stoop to the childish behavior. My point is the Team from the North improved and other teams including a North bracket team improved namely Westfield which was an OT game in Crown Point where does that leave you? Look you can call out names all you want "Indy Cronies"" blah blah blah. Like @temptation has said multiple times, several of us would love to see a Crown Point get a State Championship. The astronomical statistic for 6A states it won't happen 2 out of 22 teams in 6A finals history have been non-Indy area teams and both were beat by 28 or more points. You don't have to like it and can resort to belittling, but the facts are facts. Because I typed the truth. Coach Buzea taking Crown Point from losing season to 5-5, then 10-1, then 13-1 and State runner-up is commendable nobody is has stated otherwise. Nobody has stated Crown Point is not a good team because they are. I stated it in another post Crown Point brings nothing new that teams like Westfield, Center Grove, Lawrence North, Brownsburg, HSE, Fishers, Ben Davis, or Cathedral don't see every week. However Crown Point does NOT see that every week. I can talk about improvements other teams have made if you want. I have Lawrence North as one of top 2 contenders from the South (the Lawrence North vs Cathedral Sectional Championship game will be a doozy). The other team I have is Brownsburg and my only contention in having them as sole favorite to win is their blunders in the post season the last 2 years (they are really good). Cathedral, Warren Central, and Center Grove could snake-bite LN or Brownsburg. As bad as Ben Davis started this season (rebuild entirely on defense and a new OC they are trying to get on the same page with) they played well against Lawrence Central and they still have a terrific RB and playmaker in Zachary. Westfield from the North will be a tough out played Brownsburg about the best you could play them in that 17-13 loss at Brownsburg. I was at that game and had the Shamrocks not lost their QB to injury they might have pulled off the win. There are some wildcards in the North with HSE who can be very good. Fishers who nobody can figure out what they are. Noblesville who I wouldn't put at the top of any list, but what they do have is a offensive scheme they run very well that limits the other teams possessions and keeps scores much closer than you would expect. That being said I feel the Top 2 are Westfield and Crown Point on a collision course. I think you will see much like last year back and forth and CP's secondary will be put to one of their tougher tests. You have made comments about New Palestine in other posts about their SOS and Crown Point is no different in that category. Both have great coaches: Coach Buzea 36-7 at CP 252-96 in career, Coach Ralph 134-14 at NP and in career. What has changed on your stance when it comes to schedule here? It seems you are being hypocritical. When I look at the State's Top 6A teams here is what I see: 1. Brownsburg = (SOS) 36.5 2. Lawrence North = (SOS) 24 3. Westfield = (SOS) 38.4 4. Cathedral = (SOS) 40 5. Warren Central = (SOS) 32.8 6. Crown Point = (SOS) 11.4 7. Center Grove = (SOS) 47.3 8. Hamilton Southeastern = (SOS) 33.3 9. Columbus North = (SOS) 39.5 10. Ben Davis = (SOS) 42.5
  21. This wasn’t me doubting any of the others. I would have Snider the same 4-4 at best and Carroll 4-4/5-3, Mishawaka worse. I asked the question to see where the thoughts were. You’re not going to have a Top 25 list with nothing but 6A. Both Chatard and New Palestine have done well against 6A teams in the past and they both have good football teams this year. You have to reward winning as Temp said. It has nothing to do with an Indy bias. One poster keeps calling New Pal a tiny school even though their enrollment is 38 students more than Cathedral. Is New Pal up to their 2018-2019 team no, but they are good and they have to play the schedule they have. i will be honest I feel Crown Point would not be undefeated with Lawrence North, Cathedral, Brownsburg, Center Grove, or Westfields schedule. When you look at Calpreps most of the top 10 teams hover at 23 to 41 (higher the number better the schedule) Cathedral is at 39.9 and CG at 41.1. Crown Point came in at 11.4 that is lower than Chatard. They would win some for sure but wouldn’t be undefeated. Same with New Palestine with a 5.
  22. Do you feel FW Snider, Carroll, or Mishawaka would fair better than Ben Davis with Ben Davis’ schedule?
  23. Improvement only pertains to Crown Point got it. Couldn’t Westfield be better this year than last year? Guess that win at Center Grove doesn’t put a check on improvement. Or a close 17-13 loss at Brownsburg after losing 37-7 last year.
