  1. He did have a great year and is a great kid. I however feel many might have had the same sentiments about Wheat before he was lost for the season. Thomeson did just fine for CG also. I just feel Hansen had a better season even in their loss to East Central in OT by a FG Hansen had a heck of a game.
  2. Pretty unbelievable. Don't get me wrong Micah Coyle is a terrific RB and young man, but wow!
  3. Springfield took out Moeller in 2021 also, maybe it shouldn't have come as a surprise. Once can be called luck, twice can be called a pattern.
  4. Only 4 more to go to surpass the number of State Championships Moeller has and 6 more to surpass St. Ignatius.
  5. Class 2A has the highest percentage of P/P in it. Class 1A = 5 Class 2A = 8 Class 3A = 4 Class 4A = 5 Class 5A = 1 Class 6A = 1
  6. They do not anymore, but did field a football team. I was making a basic point with that. Oldenburg was low on the enrollment of 1A and Adams Central towards the top of enrollment. By the statement made their enrollment should be more because of their advantages.
  7. Since the Success Factor (2012) 1A there has been 6 P/P State Champions and 5 Public State Champions 1A there has been 8 P/P teams in the State Finals and 14 Public teams in the State Finals 2A there has been 5 P/P State Champions 6 Public State Champions 2A there has been 10 P/P teams in the State Finals and 12 Public teams in the State Finals As for the there should not be a P/P competing in the 1 A tournament. I would put Adams Central against Oldenburg Academy any day and over the last 10 years would bet Oldenburg would be fortunate to score points. The problem is there is a skewed view looking at the successful P/P but there are P/P that don't share that same success.
  8. They didn't just all of a sudden turn into a basketball power. They have had good teams dating back into the early 90's they were over shadowed by great Ben Davis, Pike, Lawrence North, and North Central teams. They had a good team in 2022 and won state and return some very good players this year. They also brought in a really good Coach in Delaney who I think is in his 6th or 7th year
  9. This does not matter. Mutiplier's do nothing but try to address a couple of teams because they had success, while punishing some others. Prime example how much more success has Gibson Southern had compared to Hammond Noll. Hammond Noll has won a grand total of like 3 games over the last 10 years. It is easy to just say "Slap a multiplier" and turn your head. Success Factor is a much better idea. The current success factor is flawed because it looks at 2 years only.
  10. 1.) There are Private / Parochial Schools with Special Needs programs. One I can name is Roncalli and their STARS program. 2.) You do realize there are more transfers out of Private/Parochial Schools to public than the other way around. Usually the student that transfers from Private/Parochial to Public gets an immediate sign off by the P/P school and on the flip side the rare occasion a student transfers from a Public to a Private/Parochial school there is no sign off by the Public forcing them to sit out a period of time. There are also a lot more Public to Public transfers especially in Indianapolis and surrounding counties
  11. Also keep in mind Guerin was founded in 2004. So students from many of its feeder schools like: Our Lady of Grace, St Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maria Goretti have attended Brebeuf Jesuit, Chatard, and Cathedral over the years and some still do. Just like prior to Cathedral becoming a Private school they were a Deanery High School in Dowtown Indianapolis (Opened in 1919) long before the 4 current Deanery schools were built (earliest was Scecina built in the 60's) so there are a lot of legacy students that still attend Cathedral following family footsteps.
  12. They are split to certain HS as feeder schools. West Deanery would be Cardinal Ritter, East would be Scecina Memorial, South Roncalli, and North Bishop Chatard. You also have long standing and legacy students that will go to the 2 Private Catholic schools Brebeuf Jesuit and Cathedral. Here are all the Deanery's https://www.archindy.org/parishes/deanery/index.html
  13. It is not coincidental that there is very little talent in IPS (with the exception of basketball). The IPS education system has been very bad for several years. There are long standing High Schools that have closed, re-opened, and even been repurposed to middle schools. Howe and Washington have closed re-opened and I think Howe is closed again. Arlington closed has now become a middle school. Northwest has closed and become a middle school. Broad Ripple has closed. It has been a mess. The talent pool from IPS has been drained, but it has been getting drained for YEARS dating back to busing to Township schools (Ben Davis, Warren Central, etc). It isn't just a recent thing it has been going on dating back to the late 80's early 90's.
  14. These are the Indianapolis North Deanery parishes: These are the South Deanery Parishes
  15. Coach as for Mr. Football, isn't it 1 vote for each sectional and 2 at large votes making 60 votes or have they changed it?
  16. Sweet #88 even beat out #95 Springfield (OH) whom just beat #29 Moeller to crack the 80's In honor @GroverI think you should rock out to 80's music all day!
  17. 😂🤣 No I was thinking it would be because of the school lunch pizza. Only one of them stuck with the best pizza lunch money can buy!!
  18. I am curious with this statement. Do you not think Hansen was a "Put the Team on Your Back" guy? Heck I remember posts on here asking if Roncalli was even going to pass. I will have to go take a look, but I think Roncalli attempted around 180 passes and 600 plus rushes and 400 plus of those carries were Hansen. I stated Luke Hansen made his case for Mr. Football and supported that with the stats to back that up. Not too shabby for a 6' 205 lbs kid that is not going to Notre Dame. Yes he had a good Offensive Line (I don't get what the point of that statement is when it comes to Mr. Football) its not like he was untouched because he had a good O-line (if you have watched him play he broke many many tackles). He just so happened to play defense too and didn't do too bad at that. Tote the ball 30 times a game and play defense he definitely made his case.
  19. That contagious and passed on by somebody else or self inflicted! 😂
  20. Yep and a team from the same conference as Prairie Ridge ( in Cary Grove) upset that huge East St. Louis team last year. I would like to see the Free and Reduced lunch statistics between the 2 teams (since that seems to be a hot topic here on the GID).
