  1. Yes sir! Coaching stints at North Vermillion, Mooresville, and Avon. Great man a terrific coach with character and even better role model for students he coached and taught. I was hoping he would get to the State Championship in 2015 and win one, he was very close! Regardless he was a great man on the gridiron and even better man away from the gridiron! I wish him the best in his retirement it is well deserved!
  2. 100% agree. Also of interest is 30 8th graders attend St (insert parochial elementary) and 10 of them attend (insert Parochial Deanery High School) 20 of them do not and attend (insert local Public Township High School) would those be considered stolen from the Parochial School?
  3. What is misleading? If they are a member of a parish they are a member of a parish. I am sure there are kids that attend the local township school and are members of the parish yet attend the Parochial High School when the time comes. There are also kids that attend the parish school but when it comes time for High School they attend the local Township school instead of the Parish Parochial High School. Is there a difference or should it only work one way?
  4. Like I said just because they are recruited by Big Ten or any D-1 school due to (Size or Potential meaning they haven't proven anything) doesn't make you toss them on the Top 50 For De'Eric Mister I would not replace one of these players. Yes they aren't 6'8" but they have proven on the field with terrific competition what they can do. Even if a D-1 Big Ten school hasn't offered them jut because they are 6' 8" and have so called potential (which doesn't always work out) I also would replace for Jordan Woods because he is going to Eastern Illinois as WR. Some of the WR on the list are going to bigger schools than Eastern Illinois anyway.
  5. The more logical and biggest question. Who would you like to see removed to add the 2 players you mention? It is easy to say this player has D-1 this (insert whatever), but what Top 50 player do you feel should be removed to make room for them and why. Just because they are a D-1 recruit? LOok at it from that aspect. I will tell you there are kids that get D-1 offers off of their size and potential that haven't produced like others that don't have D-1 offers.
  6. That will NEVER be accounted for! It is so quick to bring up the "recruiting" aspect even though in Indy recruiting students is a must (see every HS that puts a flyer out. What gets missed is kids that went to P/P elementary yet didn't attend a high school be it feeder or Private. When you talk Indianapolis there are plenty of kids attending Ben Davis, Warren Central, and yes Center Grove that attended a Catholic elementary school that is a feeder to P/P High School it just doesn't get talked about (do to agenda mostly).
  7. Plenty of highlights of Hansen defensively, O-lineman opening holes, and him doing work downfield. http://www.hudl.com/v/2JHnZV
  8. For the first 3-5 yards maybe. After that Pee Wee Herman would have to learn to stiff arm, spin move, break tackles, keep moving his feet, or dive for extra yardage. Yes Offensive Lineman are crucial (Hansen and Coyle had a great benefit from their O-line), but there are things done downfield that get extra yardage. Then again you have RB's like Barry Sanders that have to break 5 tackles in the backfield without an O-line and still get 15, 20, 30+ yard gains!!
  9. Coach Ted Ginn Sr has people that have mixed feelings for him. Personally I commend Coach Ginn Sr. regardless what anyone feels about him. He has dedicated himself to the not so great areas of Cleveland being a Father Figure, Role Model, and Coach to manny less fortunate young men in both Football and Track & Field. I am extremely happy for him! They have been so close at Glenville and have finally accomplished it in Football! Aside from that the nickname "Tarblooders" is so awesome!
  10. I a million percent agree Snider is a different team on turf in Lucas Oil. I might take turf out of the equation (not many grass fields left anymore). I will say though over the last 5 years (while New Pal and Roncalli have had big Offensive Lines) you would be surprised at the speed both teams actually have had and do currently have. Especially New Pal there have been several players for the Dragons that are deceptively fast. Maxson Hook was definitely one of the most deceptively quick and fast football players I have watched in a long time. Even Spegal surprised people with his open field speed against some pretty elite speed guys (Tracy's at Decatur Central). Even in that 2015-16 State Championship game that Snider beat New Pal 64-61 it kind of turned into a track meet. I personally think (this is just me) that there are a few teams that can do it both ways pound it out in inclement weather or hit with speed in perfect weather Roncalli, New Pal, and East Central would have been in that category. In all fairness I did not get to see much of Snider this year. I do know watching Valpo in the State Championship game. They had a big Offensive Line but their RB Travis Davis had some excellent speed and quickness (I personally love the way he hit the holes like raging bull). Another team that really boosted their speed to me is Center Grove since Eric Moore became the Head Coach. Early on there was a lot more speed out of Warren Central and Ben Davis. CG stayed in games with them with their Wing T offense using some deception. Now I would say I don't see much difference in speed between CG and Ben Davis and Warren Central. Credit for that goes to Coach Moore and his emphasis on speed and agility because he is also their Track coach.
  11. A New Pal team minus key injuries can provide doubts. With players like Grayson Thomas they were just as much capable as Roncalli and East Central.
  12. Perspective can be everything. Positive if you are a St. Ed's fan/alumni, painful if you are a Notre Dame fan/Alumni. You are both @Bobref makes it pretty confusing! 😂🤣
  13. Yes! RebelDad is a great man with a great family! I had been out of the loop for a little bit, just saw the role KB has at Roncalli extremely happy for him and now ole RebelDad should be changed to RebelGranddad (a role I know he is proud to carry). I am telling you TW some of these O-line guys are really making big splashes with their football minds. It is evident at many levels! Just an example I remember watching Kyle Ralph play in his HS days at St. X (fortunately that St. X was playing some Indiana teams then). Like New Pal or hate them listening to Coach Ralph talk Offense is impressive and he isn't the only one!
  14. When are you and Randy gonna get Dee Tee's a job with you, then you guys can start a youtube channel!
  15. Come on Donnie you are slackin' on your spellin'! You know it's Hoosier Daddy!
  16. Ok White Goodman move along. Just antiquated that's what happens as you and I get older!🤣 Bet you could still diagram the several blocking schemes on the Power Toss though! #HurricaneScifres (just throwing it back a little) Honestly though glad all is well TW. Now if I can just get RebelDad to make an appearance! He and I have had some great person to person talks!
  17. He also flat out told you that you can reach out and ask another Coach that was in the room. I have no narrative, I flat out stated Coyle is a great kid had a great season, but Hansen deserved the RB position award. You feel he doesn't the difference is you have rose colored glasses and are obviously a Center Grove fan and your guy won it. I on the other hand have no ties with Roncalli not even close, just calling it as I see it.
  18. Come on man if you can't tell that was a comment in jest and had some sarcasm built into it, I have no help for you. I think everyone on here knows how important Offensive Line play is. That being said there are thing that certain RB's do down field after that first 3-5 yards that are on their own merits. Of course their O-line play is crucial. Hansen and Coyle were of benefit of terrific O-line's so that is moot. Nope probably haven't seen the movie in at least 10 years. Probably won't for awhile either. Unsure how long you've been around the GID, but I have been around long enough to see @The TW on here from some archaic message board iterations (heck even the Horde vs Driven T days), even though he like to disappear and reappear on occasions 🤣. Some things I do know is he is and always has been very honest on these boards, has some coaching experience (heck I me be pulling out the old memory cells but I think at one time at Broad Ripple HS, he will have to tell me if I am going senile), and for safe measure I am pretty sure he knows a thing or two about Offensive Line play. You don't have to take him for his word, but he has no reason to make it up.
  19. Don't be obtuse Using the Heisman trophy to compare to the Indiana High School RB position award is not an apples to apples comparison. When it comes to Doak Walker (the College RB award) no it does not always go to the leading rusher in college football you are correct. It also does not go to a RB that has 1,008 less rushing yards and 13 less TD's than the leading rusher. It isn't just stats either as Hansen definitely is an impactful player for his team otherwise they wouldn't have given him the ball 420 plus times. Heck he had 41 carries 204 yards and 3 TD's in an OT loss by a FG in the Semi-State. To top it off anyone who wants to say he only has those yards because of his Offensive Line has not watched his game film. Yes his Offensive Line was terrific, but he has broken plenty of tackles in the backfield and downfield to earn those yards.
  20. I stated that Yeast did not win Mr. Football over another terrific player with very good stats, but he at least won a position award. Hansen did not get the RB position award while have 1,008 more yards rushing and 13 more TD's than the player that did get the position award and will not be able to be in the running for Mr. Football (huge difference). I typed it out very clearly and posted the statistics for a position award. Would you rather me use absurd. I don't know what your definition of travesty is, but I think you would be surprised at how it can fit. Difference is you are a Center Grove fan so you have no problem with one. I am not even close to a Roncalli fan.
  21. I didn't state that Coyle replaced Wheat, I said he stepped up taking a bulk of the load. I also stated Thomeson was moved from defense to offense. Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Football are 2 different awards by two different entities and they are not one in the same. The difference is Yeast was at least voted as a position award winner and Hansen was not. Directly why I say it is a travesty. He (Hansen will not even have the opportunity to be up for Mr. Football because he was not a position award winner. It is a joke and he 100% had the statistics at RB to win the RB position award.
  22. Edit: Disregard my previous post. Didn't realize Juniors could make the Top 50
  23. Yes they would have. Coyle great kid and had a terrific season. I would bet money there are 3 other RB's behind him that know Coach Moore's Wing T system and can run it in their sleep (they've only been doing it since the 2nd or 3rd grade). Wheat went down Coyle stepped up. Thomeson was moved from defense to offense. Regardless of any of that Hansen still had 1,008 more rushing yards in 1 less game (and yes the dogs were called off in games at Roncalli too just like CG) and 13 more TD's. Both were even in receiving yards as well. ANyone that says stats don't matter for a position award is fooling themselves While some CG fans were very upset Russ Yeast did not win Mr. Football over Hunter Johnson, that was less of a travesty than Luke Hansen not being the RB award and it isn't even to the Mr. Football award. When talking schedule strength do NOT use Sagarin as Sagarin does not take Out of State opponents into consideration (good or bad). If you want to debate Strength of Schedule you should look at Calpreps (which takes all opponents into consideration). Roncalli's SOS was 20.5 and Center Grove's was 36.8 (lower the number better the SOS) Roncalli's opponents were 108-62 Center Grove's were 83-74. (Shortridge, Attucks, and Southport definitely brought down Roncalli's SOS both teams had no choice in who they played especially in the Tournament). It can be spun however anyone wants but this was one of the biggest travesty moments for the position awards. I take nothing away from Coyle as he is a good kid and good football player, but he wasn't better than Hansen this year. Yes the CG fans would be super upset if the roles were reversed and that was evident from the year Russ Yeast didn't win it over Hunter Johnson (which was even less of a travesty because Yeast at least got the position award).
  24. Hansen had 195 yards against New Palestine. Had 204 yards and 3 TD's in an OT loss against East Central in Semi-State. I think he did pretty well for himself. Not to mention had big games against some good Out of State Competition like Male (KY) 316 yds 4 TD's and Elder (OH) 221 yds. Not to mention he played defense too with a good amount of TFL's
