  1. I remember watching in 2002-2003 when Coach O'Hara decided to make the change from mostly ironman football to a 2 platoon system. There were some growing pains early on in 2003 (3-7) and in 04 and 05 they lost a couple of close games to some very good Roncalli teams. That 2017 Columbus East team was a very fun team to watch and follow! Everyone knew they were going to run the ball with their 3 headed monster and only their rival Columbus North was able to stop them. Columbus East and Westfield in 2016 would have done well against Cathedral if they were still in 5A. In 2016 Cathedral had 3 weeks of OT games before getting blasted by Ben Davis (44-41 OT loss to CG, 41-38 OT win over LN, and 20-17 OT win over LC). 2015 was some of the best Tournament games in 6A I was blessed to actually attend. I was at the Cathedral @ Avon Regional game that Avon won 37-34 in 2 OT. The following week I was at Center Grove for the Avon @ CG Semi-State game that Center Grove won 35-34 in 2OT. I got my money's worth from those 2 games.
  2. Never forget! 😂🤣 Hope all is well @Lysander
  3. I agree I think it depends on what falls to their lap. If a seasoned QB looks to them in the portal it will be difficult to pass it up. I think you have seen Coach Freeman do the same at ND. That being said Jackson and Cherry will garner their eye as they spend a couple of seasons in the Offensive system.
  4. I agree with Coach Comer it was one of the oddest endings I've ever seen. I also agree it is disappointing to his kids. What I will say is that even though there was a bad call in Danville's view and maybe in the officials view. Brebeuf did still have to score and kick a PAT to win the game. Danville still had the opportunity to stop Brebeuf Jesuit again. You will hear coaches tell players all the time "Control what you can control". You can't control an officials call. At that point the only thing Danville could control was the next play. Just food for thought. Question for those at the game. Did Danville have any timeouts left? If so might have been a time to call a timeout before that last play and regroup your defense and get them focused back in (of course that is in hindsight).
  5. I won't say Jackson played terrible. He played like a Redshirt Sophomore QB in a big game. 11 of 19 124 yds 1 TD and 1 Int. The Int was a pass tipped to a D-lineman. Kurtis Rourke is very well seasoned being a redshirt Senior his Redshirt sophomore year he threw 11 TD and 7 Int's. Jackson has some growing to do still but he didn't have a terrible performance.
  6. It is a tough loss for Danville to take. Brebeuf Jesuit is officially the winner. Their reward is a rematch with Roncalli whom they lost 37-18 (18 was the lowest amount of points they have scored on the season).
  7. 6 years before delving into OnlyFans abyss! How many more lawns were mowed to extend the expenditures?
  8. Agree 100% to that. The St. X game and Warren Central both were games they should have won. If I am being honest they have exceeded what I thought they would do coming into this season. The Brownsburg game is really the only game they were not in. Their defense is playing better than they did in that 2 day affair. Agreed and get pressure to rattle the LN QB. Maybe force the run (which can be dangerous too if they don't bottle up Zay Moore). We will see how healthy they are in a couple of weeks.
  9. It is on another part of the bell. The only games that are recorded on the bell are regular season match-ups. The KofC Victory Bell does not get exchanged for tournament games. Example in 2004 Cathedral beat Roncalli 20-17 in the regular season and brought the Bell back to the Hill. In the tournament Roncalli beat Cathedral 17-16 but the Bell remained in Cathedral's possession because it is only exchanged during regular season games. In 2005 Cathedral again beat Roncalli 21-14 and kept the Bell then Roncalli beat Cathedral 16-12 in the tournament. Then in 2006 Roncalli reclaimed the bell to the southside beating Cathedral 14-13. In the tournament Cathedral beat Roncalli 28-0. Cathedral had to wait until 2007 to beat Roncalli 31-0 and regain control of the bell. They have held it since then.
  10. Grocery bills getting too high with inflation😂😂. Figured they would whip out the chopper for Colabro's last Hoorah!
  11. A little better than some of their Public counterparts, not so much other Public Counterparts.
  12. All good, I was just stating I didn't take it as he was stating Cathedral didn't belong in 6A. He was mentioning depth is the great equalizer. I don't think anyone is arguing with you that the Irish shouldn't be in 6A. Too many automatically get defensive and think that. I am not one of those. I am 100% believer they belong in 6A and should play there. Now if their enrollment were to drop to Chatard's level I would say maybe not, but I don't see their enrollment doing anything but stay at it's current number for the future.
  13. I think you misunderstood his statement. I took it as him stating Cathedral can play with these teams, but what really offsets is the depth. Not that they can't but if they sustain some injuries at offensive line where depth lacks it can make a difference. It has happened at the 5A level too when the Irish played in 5A. They did not win State every year they were in 5A. In 2017 they lost some good lineman to injury and had nothing for a very good Columbus East squad. They will manage through. Yes they did those turnovers giving an inept WC Offense a short field did them in. WC wildcat to Bell in goal line situations was pretty stout. With a defense like theirs they could run that a little more as Bell is a bruiser. I think QB 1 has done a great job this year replacing a QB like O'Neil. I would bet he came away from that game with some lessons for future games. I agree the defense has played well. It will be interesting to see if they can bring pressure on LN's QB to offset their WR speed and if they can bottle up the LN RB. Yes they likely are enjoying the benefit of getting healthy and tuned for a battle. I will restate Westfield has really raised my eyebrow the last 2 weeks. They had a loss at Brownsburg and lost their QB in qtr 3, but they were well in that game giving Brownsburg all they could handle. After that loss they thrashed Avon, Fishers, and an on the upswing Farnklin Central.
  14. I agree nothing good happens after 10pm, but there are shootings that happen in broad daylight too. In 2020 Mario McCullough a Junior at the time at Cathedral was shot and killed around 3pm on a Sunday. It is definitely tragic to see these young men lose their life to senseless acts. https://www.wishtv.com/news/local-news/cathedral-remembers-student-who-died-after-triple-shooting/
  15. Things have become a little more difficult for Cathedral to possibly challenge Lawrence North. They have not had much luck with the injury bug. Before the season started they lost their top O-lineman for the year. They lost their starting RB Bonds in week 2 (unsure when he comes back). they lost a WR in the Center Grove game for the year. Before the Kickoff of the Warren Central game their 2nd best lineman was a scratch. Last night their Sophomore RB that has been lights out (Dangerfield) left the game with an injury. They have a week off and then North Central but they need to get healthy if they want to challenge Lawrence North.
  16. The most impressive victory to date is the Center Grove game. I knew Warren Central and Ben Davis were going to struggle to keep up scoring with LN it was more of can their defense limit LN from scoring to keep them in it. Neither succeeded. Center Grove on the other hand had an offense that can keep up scoring, LN was able to create turnovers to extend their lead and make CG play from behind. That was very impressive win to me. LN has deficiencies (turnovers and minor other things). They have been able to over come those at almost every opportunity. They eliminate the minor deficiencies and they will be very tough to beat unless you can out score them.
  17. I hear you, but i feel Ben Davis 2023 played against some better offenses than Lawrence North has. Especially with Moeller and IMG on the schedule. The goose egg on Tech and giving up only 10 to North Central and 7 to an obviously not great WC offense really drives down their average. Now don't get me wrong LN by no means has a bad defense, they have speed for sure. They are better in the backend secondary than up front, but have speed up front too. Ben Davis was really good up front (D-line, LB's) and had some great players in the secondary. This is all just my opinion though.
  18. I think Ben Davis' 2023 squad was much better on the defensive side of the ball than the current Lawrence North team. Offensively comparable maybe 1 or 2 more speedsters at WR than BD had. Both 2023 BD offense and this year LN have shifty quick RB's a WR that is a absolute burner. While Ben Davis had some terrific WR's outside of Zackery LN's other WR probably have a little more speed. QB wise both BD and LN had smart QB's that could throw the ball, BD's QB was a better runner. Defensively LN plays very good especially with a lead, but they aren't to 2023 Ben Davis level. That Ben Davis defense last year was pretty nasty!
  19. That is why I say Noblesville is a team nobody wants to see. They get their run game going and play good defense it can do damage (especially in poor weather).
  20. Yes I understand and agree. Was just throwing out who the recruits were and where they have committed. no issues
  21. St. Frances closes out with Clearwater Central Catholic and IMG also after Center Grove. A lot of road games at the end of their season!
  22. Our Hotel was about 10 minutes from Jenks and 5 minutes from Oral Roberts. So I decided to attend a game at Allen Trimble Stadium it ended up being Owasso at Jenks. I enjoyed it. Owasso won 42-24.
  23. Center Grove for many years ran the Wing T to do the same thing ball control. They have switched to a spread over the years because it has suited their personnel with some terrific QB's but their base and bread and butter is the Wing T offense. It is ran in their lower levels too and their players are well disciplined to it. Run what fits your personnel and Coach Sharpe done fine at Noblesville they are much closer to climbing over that hump than when he first got there. There are benefits to running the football and playing defense just ask East Central.
  24. If this tells you anything: Time of possession 40:32 to 7::28
