  1. I believe this is the series of plays being discussed, in case the timestamp doesn't work it is at 1:12:27. From what I see, this is what happened: Warren Central was stopped short of the goal line on 3rd Down, running clock Warren Central tries to spike the ball on 4th down False Start is called on Warren Central During discussion Personal Foul is called on Center Grove They put 1.5 seconds on the clock and play 4th down with a dead clock I have no idea what the discussion on the filed was, but this is for sure an odd sequence.
  2. The drones aren't allowed on the field of play, they are typically flown behind and to the side the uprights.
  3. I've seen a few posts about Pike's potential this year, but I'm out of the loop on them. What has people optimistic?
  4. You started to answer your own question there, it isn't holding to block a player and land on top of him. It is a foul (a physical restraint, it doesn't have to be with his hands) to lay on top of him and not allow him to get up. So we have holding, which the blocker gained an competitive advantage, at the point of attack. It's also a judgement call, you won't see this called the same way every time. That wasn't the game I was referring to, it was film from the middle of the season that I was watching to scout a team before a game.
  5. Just heard another one on a replay, "If an offensive linemen lays on someone after a pancake block that's not holding, that's just what happens!"
  6. Sometimes I can't help but laugh when you hear fans shouting out rules that are 100% wrong but they think they are 100% correct. Some recent ones that come to mind: "Roughing the kicker isn't an automatic first down!" "That's not a horse collar, he took him all the way to the ground!" What are some confidently incorrect calls from fans or coaches that stand out to you?
  7. #3 Clearly pulls the defender's jersey.
  8. Does that make Knox and Jimtown co-champions of the conference?
  9. Now this is a fun conversation we should be having more of! I haven't been to most of these schools in many years, but you definitely aren't wrong about North Miami. Plus, their long jump pit is right next to the south end zone and causes the corner to go uphill. I haven't been to Caston, but not having a track is a cool feature. Really shrinks the stadium and makes the fans feel like they are right on top of you.
  10. I figured that to be the case, Coach Buresh doesn't seem like one to intentionally run up the score and it's always good to get the young guys some playing time. I'm more surprised by the exact 35-0 three times in a row, lots of things can go wonky during the try or garbage time. Can they make it a 4th against Frankton? 😜
  11. I think this is a perfect thread to note that Mississinewa has won all three of it's games exactly 35-0.
  12. That's absolutely brutal to hear.
  13. Thanks posting on this, Bob. If we get observed this year, is this something all observers will be made aware of?
  14. The Artesian on the way walking up to their field looks quite nice!
  15. Now the question is, how do we get this more accurate poll posted to the media? 😆
  16. Although the channel isn't as active as it used to be, I really enjoy watching Todd Allen at https://www.youtube.com/@ToddAllenaahso/videos. He breaks down film really well and teaches how to spot the action of a foul and the philosophy behind making calls.
  17. We just got an email from the state: Friday, November 24th 1A @ 11 AM, 3A @ 3 PM, 5A @ 7PM Saturday, November 25th 2A @ 11 AM, 4A @ 3 PM, 6A @ 7 PM
  18. Very impressed by the HNAC to produce 3 sectional champions
  19. With the season winding down I just wanted to note that I always enjoy reading your predictions. It's clear you put some thought and effort into these each week. Cheers!
  20. Thanks for the reminder, FtS.
  21. I think the main reason is simply geography. Unlike CFB and NFL, high school sports allow for away fans to travel easier and together, creating a more balanced volume level from each side of the bleachers. Of course, the bleacher size for the away teams will typically be smaller than the home's, but if it is a big game between local schools you know the fence will be lined as well. I think during the regular season the team's talent disparity will typically outweigh the fan's influence of the game. That being said, .25 points is quite low, but I think 2.5 points would be too many. PS: I really enjoy using your Predictor Tool.
  22. Now THAT'S a flag I would hate to try to explain. But, in reality, if there is noticed field issue we are supposed to play the game and alert the administration.
  23. More often than not, there isn't. The picture @gonzoron just posted shows that as well. It's just surprising that the manufacturers haven't caught on to that since it is a rule. Just an official's pet peeve 😜
  24. Perf NFHS rules, any logo covering a yard marker should have a shadow to establish the line. If there is a measurement in that area and we don't have the yard lines, we have to move the ball outside of the logo to measure it.
  25. Now someone tell the manufacturer to put a shadow on the 50 yard line through the logos 😉
