Well, I'm not sure about 50 but I fully expect a better outcome than we experienced Saturday.  That was hard to watch.

Weather obviously played a factor but that was just the 2nd time a Titan team was shutout in his Hart's tenure with GS?  Sloppy game on both sides as far as penalties and turnovers, but that game wasn't even as close as the 28-0 final score in my opinion.  I'm sure HH-GS will meet up again in the Sectional as we always do and I anticipate a better challenge next time.

Was a bit surprised to look in the box score and see Gibson had reached 150 in all purpose yardage.  Very uncharacteristic of the usual Titan/ Patriot showdown.  I'd say we'd better savor the flavor because a beatdown like that probably won't be something we'll see again with this matchup for many many moons. I don't like to complain about the officiating, especially in a game that lopsided, but some of the calls had me wondering if perhaps Patrick Mahomes was on the sidelines wearing maroon and gold.  Much more could be said on the issue but I'll leave it at that.

The weather was on both of us....so it is what it is.  Yeah, flags were ridiculous.

As for next meetup, if that happens in sectional, it will be a completely different game no doubt.  We can count on nothing as it pertains to Saturday if we get a round 2.

It was only 9-25-2020 when GS beat HH 38-0.  So not so many moons ago we had a zero game....I guess it depends on one's perception of many moons as it's a subjective measurement concerning time.  The GS run game wasn't there, credit the Patriots.  Interceptions plagued the passing game....bad snaps a huge issue.  Not being ready for wildcat punts....etc etc.  I don't think the Patriots are 4 TDs better than the Titans but that and 10 bux won't get you a choca-moca-bullsh!t.  The philosophical differences are always interesting to watch over the years with these two teams.  My guess is Campbell and Klem would probably be running backs at HH.

OK, to me "many moons = a long time.  4 years is kind of a long time.  And going by the game I watched on Saturday, what a difference 4 years can make.  At any rate, all I was saying with the seemingly controversial "many moons" terminology was that, like you, I don't expect it to be quite as much of a beatdown the next time these two prestigious programs meet up.

2020 was one our our worst seasons and one of 5 (I think) losing seasons in the history of the program.

History Of The Matchup

Mount Vernon (4-2) @ Heritage Hills (5-1)  Heritage Hills - The Jungle - Lincoln City, IN Friday, October 4th, 2024 7:00 pm CDT Kickoff   This is the 24th meeting between Heritage Hills and Mount Vernon (Posey). The Patriots lead the overall series 16-7.   This season Mount Vernon is averaging 34.8 ppg and giving up 28.2 ppg while Heritage Hills is averaging 34.5 ppg and giving up 9.3ppg.   The two teams played in the regular season every year from 1974-1981 and resumed the regular season series in 2014. They have also met four times in sectional play and once in the regional.   Like most of the Patriots opponents, in the early 70's Mount Vernon dominated the series; The Wildcats won 3 of the first 4 games.
