All the more reason to take these computer rankings with a grain of salt.

Idk, they're so darn good that it could be possible. They kept the 7pm start time driving forever away to Linton to win 45-6. They beat much larger Ohio schools as well. 2 titles in our Stateline area and hopefully 3 with Coldwater this morning. They have a tough Kirtland squad though.

Why sell Adams Central short? Transitive property suggests the two teams are equal.

I mean this in the nicest way possible. They were up 42-0 at half. They played to kick the field goal in the third. We scored against their second or third string. They could have named the score with a running clock. Would loved to have seen the matchup, but think results would have been similar.

I personally think 45-6 would be a halftime score for at least 15 Indiana teams playing Linton.

I guess that makes my last post irrelevant. I guess I could have just edited it, lol.

I was setting there at LOS thinking, the better team won today. I was also thinking, Marion Local is just on another level. I have stated They were they best small school team I have seen in the last 20 years. They are probably the best team I have seen in the last 20 years. This includes teams 5A teams as well, including the 2020 Zionsville State runners-up.

Still though, would you bet life on Marion Local beating Center Grove, Warren Central, Crown Point, or Fishers? I've got things to live for, so I'll take a pass on that. Let's come to an agreement. Cal Preps is wrong and, and at best, Marion Local could potentially be a Top 10 team in Indiana. Can't beleive I'd actually agree with this being that there are less than 200 boys in their school, unless there's something I'm missing. Rural school right? At the mercy of the kids they have in their local farm community?

Of course. But that doesn’t mean they’re wrong.

The MAC is the best small school conference in the country. They are all at the mercy of the rural make up, however they are just big, strong, and fast German Catholic kids. All very well coached. Have quite a few D1 guys in the past & NFL guys. Especially St. Henry for NFL guys. They are just anomalies it seems. This ML team for sure. They are just on a different level than many small schools. Thankfully our Jets don't have to play fhem.

No. Public school that is made up of 98% German Catholic. Same for Coldwater, St Henry, Fort Recovery, and etc.

Hmmm, I guess that explains some of it. There's something about those Catholic kids.

3 state titles in the Stateline area with Adams County in Indiana and neighboring Mercer County Ohio! Great year!

You’d be a moron to bet your life on any high school team beating any other high school team … without a pretty hefty payday if you’re right. It’s a whole risk/benefit thing.

I'm an AC guy, but if you have watched Marion Local play and their size advantage you would understand. Their defense would figure our offense out and their lines are no joke. We wouldn't match up well to their WRs besides the 3 or 4 headed monster in the back field. Might not be a running clock for sure but it could turn that way with MLs special teams play. I'd hope to put up a Minster style fight only falling 21-7. Minster was most likely the 2nd best D7 team and Columbus Grove the 3rd best. AC is probably somewhere between Minster & Columbus Grove. Grove lost 41-6 to ML in the semis and ML turned it over 3x in the red zone and 1 deep in CG territory leading to their only score.

One of the decent Luers teams went to play a Toledo team and another Catholic school from Ohio.  They played better against the big public school, but couldn't stop the small Catholic school.  Winning state in Indiana against Ritter that year.

Toledo Witmer 20, Luers 3

Columbus Harley 40, Luers 6 (something like that)

The Ritter game was never in doubt.

Whitmer enrollment 2200+, Hartley 650+.   Whitmer lost in the state championship game to Moeller.  Hartley lost to the state champion in their class.

Last I checked, this is the Indiana High School Football Forum. I'm sure there's a similar platform for OHSAA schools and, as I'm sure several in this thread would likely inform us on, its likely MUCH better than ours in Indiana. Go Jets and great season to the Linton Miners!

I guess my point was that AC may have done just fine.

Eh, they are both just message boards. They have more frequent posting like it used to be here when I was in HS and my brother was in 16. Didn't expect the explosion of posts on AC & Linton's common opponent from Ohio. Being on the Stateline I love showing love to our Adams, Allen, Jay, (non line next 2) Wells, & Blackford County schools in Indiana, and Van Wert, Mercer, Paulding, & Allen (bordering Van Wert & Mercer) County schools in Ohio. Having connections & family spread around most in both states.

and...they win right.  they never hooted and hollared.... they never danced around... never taunted.  just took care of business and very sportmanslike the whole time. They coulda put more points on us;...  they called off the dogs in the 2nd half.  We hung about a quarter.  They opened with a long TD drive, we responded with a long drive ourselves into their 30 yard line but failed on 4th down.   Then they hit on 2 long TD passes.. and we fumble on our own 36 setting up another score.  It was a long 2nd quarter getting hit with 28 points and being down at half 42-0.  3 turnovers didn't help... but it sure was an education...and our kids responded to it.    I have nothing but respect for Marion Local.... I did all the research leading up to our week 1 meeting...and I saw nothing but hard work, small town ethic and support from their community...

My response wasn't aimed at you. It just seems like some AC fans - and some that claim to be involved in the program - are quick to look for holes in the program (like not stacking up to Ohio schools, or we should have lost last year at semistate to a team that we ended up beating by several scores, etc) opposed to actually appreciating the run the program has been on.

Tag me then. Don't like it too bad. If we would have played the 2nd half against NJSP like we did the first, then it would have been NJSP playing in Indy 2 years in a row. Luckily we were much better in the 2nd half thanks to Jack Hamilton and for the NJSP defense not responding to the AC adjustment on offense. Yeah I do look for holes & you can bet everyone in MS through Varsity do as well. Like it or not, we don't stack up to Marion Local and thankfully we don't have to. Same way with Coldwater that beat our 7th grade 47-12 this season with kids playing tackle for the first year ever over there. They are truly the best small school football programs in the USA let alone Ohio. As for not appreciating the run, you must be delusional. This year's seniors have worked their butt's off every year they played. Always 2nd fiddle to the class of 24 but the ones who always did the grunt work. It's been like Christmas since the clock hit 0. The best part has been watching my cohort the first time around watch all 3 of his boys play in the state finals with his middle son going to 4 in a row as a player. Coach started the AC in-house in 2017 and it has paid off. Just feel fortunate to have been asked to be a part of it at the youth. I was involved when AC & Bellmont (few Heritage) were all mixed together before that. Yeah I can be a bit negative or nervous about possible matchups or things that need cleaned up. That just comes from being bitten on things before.

I was well aware that I wouldn't have to tag you for the message to be received. A couple of things...

You play 4 quarters of football for a reason...and I just went and watched the first half of the semistate game on the broadcast. It was 14-12 Jets at half. So in the absolute "atrocity" of football that half, AC was still winning. To say that NJ should have beaten us is ignorant. You play a full 48 mins for a reason. See the Heritage and Eastside games from this season if you need more confirmation of that.

I don't know what your role is in the program, but as an AC fan, I hope it's a small one because I would hope a coach wouldn't publicly post some of the things that you've put out there. Looking for holes is normal. A member of a program posting the observed holes publicly on an anonymous forum is not normal for a successful program/organization.

Lastly, and probably the most important, I still don't really care about Ohio football, no matter how good it is.

Tape shows it all anyway! Luckily that end of the 1st half went our way to gain some momentum in that game. Didn't really matter anyway with Lutheran winning it all. Another thought on Heritage is that they blew it this year. No reason their 1 way players were not in condition against our 2 way guys. Plus they need some discipline on the field & sideline on penalties.

I just post what I see positive or negative on here. There are no big secrets to protect on here. The scheme is the same in everything with slight adjustments. If you purchased the broadcast of the finals, Coach Mosser even told the broadcaster it's the same as the prior 3 years. Yeah I paid the $ to watch it from that perspective to see things from another angle compared to LOS. Yeah my role is small bc I have way too much going on at work & with family. Already stretch myself thin helping with what I do at the lower levels. It's all worth it though to watch those kids you get to know have success on & off the field.

Missing out on great football. I'd love to see our Jets reach a level similar to the Flyers & Cavaliers. A lot we could learn from them in my opinion. Oh well this Stateliner & "River Rat" (4th generation) will probably never agree on everything with those in other parts of the school district. Glad to see another of our St. Mary's Township boys help our team to another title.

I'm not concerned about you giving scouting tips to opposing teams. If coaches look to the GID for scouting tips, I don't think they have much of a chance against AC. As a parent of a kid that has been in the youth program, the concern is more about the impression you give off as someone involved in the program that publicly criticizes it. Fans outside of the program can post criticisms all they want, but you aren't outside of the program, as you have stated. I'm not going to continue this discussion beyond this point. You'll continue being you and that's your choice.
