North has unofficially hired a coach but they are waiting until the next board meeting to hire. They did not have a bunch of candidates which is rather surprising.

I wonder if having a good young coach decide to quit and move to a 1A program cased some potential candidates to shy away?

This might not go over well with this crowd.....but it's going to be hard to find a proven coach who wants to coach/teach at any school in the EVSC.

It makes it hard when all the schools have to be created equal from a resourcing standpoint despite their success level.

Imagine if South Gibson could not do anything until the East Gibson and North Gibson schools could afford it as well. 

And there's no doubt a certain EVSC is favored over all others when it comes to athletics.  It will be even more difficult with transfers.

That's precisely the point I was making.  It makes things very difficult.  Being a teacher in that corporation is no joy ride either from what I have been told.

They are not paid near enough and have expectations up to their chins.

Yep, especially from within the program...

This is an EVSC problem...not a North problem.  North has challenges for sure.....especially with the dumb districting.  That said, the EVSC isn't a good corporation to work for (relative to other public corporations in our part of the state) in any capacity.  I shudder to think what a freakin power house the SIAC would be if this was fixed.

Not just an EVSC problem either. I've heard of multiple jobs in the last couple of years that received little to no interest. Tiny applicant pools and no one willing to take the job when offered. Not to take away from the EVSC being a sh#t show, because it is, and I've heard firsthand stories about the foolishness that must be tolerated by coaches there.

I believe that in general, more and more teachers are going to decide the rewards of teaching are just not worth the growing sacrifices and move on to other careers, especially if the attacks on public education continue. You can only take so much for so long.

Zac is a good dude. High energy, loves the kids, and very passionate. I enjoyed having him around when he was with our program in 2012/13.

I've always wondered what this one is based on so early with no coach questionnaire being filled out.  They literally have nothing to go on rather than last years record.
