Not even in the top 20.

If you compare him to QB’s. Where was his ranking for RB’s?  Credit ND…great return for their investment. When one researches NIL football budgets for ND and IU, shows very similar.

Yet he was the 3rd best player in D1 regardless of Position on the field.

No debate. Not sure what your driving?  Yes, IU spent money on Mendoza. Yes, ND spent money on Love. Both made great investments. Both spent about the same level of total NIL football money in 2025 which is way below schools like Texas A&M. Guessing they will have to spend more in the future to compete.

I'm driving a 2017 Dodge Ram.

I'm not sure why you even brought Jeremiyah Love into this conversation. It's an IU thread.

Must criticism of Notre  Dame permeate EVERY thread on the GID?

I miss the days when there wasn't so much negativity in general toward athletes discussed on this site.

Way too defensive. You complimented IU on their purchase. I simply returned the compliment about ND doing same with Love and noticed both team have a similar approach to total NIL football investment in 2025.

Nothing negative from my end. I’m going to assume you were sincere with your original post about a good purchase.

He chose his words wisely and of course “got your goat.”

Just so damn easy.

Right?

IU has more living alumni than anyone else in the country. That equates to donors. Which equates to "we can compete for players." Couple that with the best coach in the country, fans better get used to Indiana being at the top.

As much as I dislike NIL, Indiana has one of the deepest pockets in the country. Everyone better get ready to see IU at or around the top of college football for awhile

Sure I was sincere, but in no way did I mention Notre Dame. Nice spin attempt.

College football becomes the new NASCAR. Buy your championships. It’s pretty sad really

Whatever you say…either you take a return comparison compliment or you don’t. I don’t care

All that's quite true, but why wait until 2024 to take football seriously? It's a big money maker and has been even before NIL.  Football has been in the shadows of basketball at IU forever!

I sure hope so if that’s the new equation for success. I was blown away reading how much A&M spent this year and assume Texas is close. Big time oil money.

I think the president spent time on staff at Georgia and understands what football can mean to a school.

Well, whatever the reason, it's about time someone woke up in Bloomington.  I'm glad they did, so I have someone to root for during the CFP.

Not sure how long I can last as a fan in this environment. Maybe take up hiking or fishing to occupy my time.
