NE INDIANA FOOTBALL

Thoughts on the NE teams in 6A Sectionals 2 & 4(Homestead); 5A Sectional 11; 4A Sectionals 18, 19, & 20; 3A Sectionals 26 & 28; 2A Sectionals 35 & 36; 1A Sectionals 43 & 44. Who will win their Sectionals & Regionals to represent the area? Who has the chance to win semi state & play in LOS?

Their record doesn't show it, but South Adams is a very dangerous team in 1A. I think they have a chance to go to LOS. I don't know what the south has, so can't confidently say they win state, but I think they are the favorite to represent the north this year if they can get by Madison Grant whenever they would see them. Other than that, I don't think any of the other teams make it to Thanksgiving week, but there will be some Sectional champs and maybe a regional champ or two sprinkled in there.

Absolutely! My Jet faithful may not like me saying it but South Adams has a great shot to represent 1A North at LOS. I'd love to see SA and AC go down together. Will be tough for the Jets with Andrean, Eastern, Bluffton & others in 2A North. I think East Noble/Dwenger winner has a good shot as well. Never count Luers out regardless of their record too!

2A North is very wide open. Jets are still a very good team, but they don't look as untouchable as they have in previous years. A lot of football to be played till then, and with the great coaching they have they might get to that level by then, but right now they just don't look quite as dominant. I think South Adams and Bluffton will be closer games this year than they have been in the past.

I'm more worried about South Adams than Bluffton tbh. Bluffton is supposed to be good every year and has beaten AC maybe twice, like ever.  I think AC can make it till semi state pretty comfortably then probably will have an issue if they play Andrean again. The offense looks really bad at times but the defense has been great, i think they will continue to improve. I wish SA all the success in the post season!

East Noble has a good chance in 4A, Adams Central in 2A, and South Adams in 1A have the best shots.

Struggling to see anyone up north beat East Noble this year. Unfortunately for them, New Pal's best team ever awaits them.

Long list of impressive squads IMO:

6A:

Homestead with backup qb stifling Noblesville, Carroll hanging tough downstate. Northrop finally gets a win of consequence against another solid squad.

5A:

Warsaw over Snider might have been the win of the early season if it weren't for what happened to the Panthers in week two. Northside starting to look more like a program and less like a 7 on 7 team, beat Northridge on the road by more than Elkhart did the following week. Concord vs Warsaw matchup will tell a lot.

4A:

Mishawaka should be the heavy favorite in sectional 18, they nearly beat Penn and just ripped Concord, two of the best results in the class imo.

EN, Columbia City, Leo, Dwenger is such a deep Sectional. I'd rank them EN, CC, BD, Leo right now I think, but they are interesting matchups for each other and all state title contenders.

Sectional 20 is weak again this year. Logan or Lebanon? If Marion hangs with Lebanon this week it would make things interesting. Muncie Central beat Delta for the first time in forever and almost completed the county championship a week later, but fell to Yorktown by 3 before getting blown out by Adams Central last week.

New Pal is in 5A this year, but a great Chatard team and Heritage Hills look good.

How bout them Spartans. Was the QB out against Westfield as well?

Was at the Carroll/CG game. Came away impressed with both teams. Carroll was the harder hitting team. 

Can never discount Mishawaka, but East Noble is on a mission. Not only are they good, but they've got swagger. Lethal combo when kids are kicking ass and having fun while doing so. 

Thanks for the New Pal correction. East Noble may be calling themselves champions this year. But if they fall asleep against Dwenger, their season will come to an end. Just my thoughts after three weeks. Good to see the Saints back.

Agreed on BD. Saints defense keeps them in it against anyone in 4A.

3A:

 

NECC Big division/Sectional 26 is a mess again this year. Angola is having one of their best starts in a while. West Noble still looks capable. Garrett's defense is still strong and the offense has some pop. Fairfield has had some moments early, and Lakeland's offense just hasn't quite come together yet in meaningful games. They could all beat each other on any given night imo. Concordia and Woodlan are both shaky and Tippy Valley has a telling game against Knox this week.

 

Sectional 28 goes through Luers Field until someone from 3A beats em. The defense has been nails but the offense has little experience and is yet to click at all. They qb swapped in the second half against Snider so it will be interesting to see who starts going forward. Ole Miss and Heritage have had great starts, with the Indians being a big time threat to BL this year.

 

2A:

 

AC hasn't played to their full potential yet, but are still a bit ahead of the rest of Sectional 35. And Eastside rematch would be incredible, as they are the other real contenders imo. Bluffton really hasn't put a full game together yet either. The offense has been good at times and the defense has carried the load at other times. Busco and Eastside should a fun one this week for the NECC small school division.

 

36 is balanced. Alex, Eastbrook, Tipton, Eastern are all off to good starts. Who knows.

 

1A:

If out of state opponents counted towards Sagarin strength of schedule in a meaningful way, South Adams would have the toughest SOS so far in the class this season. They'll probably have to beat Madison-Grant and North Miami or Triton

Would love to see a Mishawaka vs East Noble Game. Although East Noble is 3-0 , their 3 opponents have a combined 1 win . I feel Mishawaka has played a  tougher schedule thus far . Mishawaka will be a serious threat in 4A .

Yeah, but.............

They destroyed Snider 29-7 and Huntington North 38-0. Neither one of those programs are chumps, I don't care what their record indicates. HN lost to an undefeated Eastbrook by 1, and a pretty good, dare I say it, Northrop team by a touchdown. Northrop has two wide receivers who'll go Power 4. 

Sorry man, but right now I have East Noble over Mishawaka by 10+. There's something special about this team. Not taking anything away from the Cavemen, they might be the 5th best team north of Lafayette.

Mishawaka = Warsaw. Two scariest programs, pound for pound, in the state. First of those two coaches to abandon the punt game altogether wins the state title in their respective class.

The Pirates and Cavemen are due. They both have played up a class and should enjoy being being in their current classifications while they can. They may not win it yet at least their communities will visit LOS.

Think Warsaw is a bit better than Mishawaka this year, though I have a good deal of respect for the Cavemen. Been a hard team for Snider to play over the years.

Agree, much respect for the Cavemen. Unsure about Warsaw. Defense isn't very good.
