Successes as in plural?

IU’s 20-15 win over the worst Michigan team in over a decade counts as ONE.

Gave em credit.  Told em I was wrong on Cig.  Not sure what else you want.

The main difference between IU football fans and Notre Dame football fans is the level of delusion.

All 5 people on this board who knew Indiana University had a football team prior to last year know that they are in the midst of their best run in school history and it will never get any better than this.  Let em soak it up.

Notre Dame fans convince themselves every off season that “this is the year.”

Exhibit A:  @Bobref’s anointing of “The Chosen One.”

He was right though I’ve gotta give him credit.  The kid did win a national championship…just did it in lacrosse instead of football.

Fair enough, but my inference was moreso of the intent of these messages are the same, attempting to "shut one up" about teams they support vs other teams.   Hence Message Boards

The advanced metrics still love PSU

I just noticed that Sagarin has Penn State at #16 despite being 3-6.

Sagarin has the top three teams in the country from the Big Ten.

CFP has Notre Dame as the highest ranked two loss team and Iowa as the highest ranked three loss team. SEC country is having a mental breakdown right now.

Sagarin has Notre Dame at #6, Miami at #10. Sorry ACC fans, it's about how you're playing NOW, not three months ago. Pittsburgh comes in at #23. The ACC just.............well, they suck.

If Sagarin is correct, and they probably are, then two of the top six teams in the county are from Indiana. That's gotta piss some people off. Ohio State right next door. The best football in the country being played right in our own backyard.

It's just a hypothetical.

I guess something comes to mind. Is Auburn more relevant than Notre Dame since they had a title in 2010?

Good find.  Auburn is also irrelevant.

Exception to the rule.

"Also irrelevant."

Could you really put yourself on national television and tell the audience that Notre Dame is irrelevant?

You're not being honest with yourself. You'd be taken off the air and given $20 for a cab ride back to the airport.

Not in the era of sports media today.  It'd be considered a "hot take" and I'd get SAS money.

Once again, you measure relevance by eyeballs and money which is fine, I measure it based on trophy cases.

Team A: Makes the playoffs five seasons in a row. All 10+ win seasons. They make the national title game twice but come up short. Are they relevant?

In a small vacuum, sure.

But they'd better come up big in round 3.

And for the record, before 2023 I cringed when Michigan football boasted about having the most wins in college football and how many consecutive sellouts they had.

Notre Dame ALWAYS manages to step on a rake when the lights are at their brightest.

They obviously need a "spy/sign stealer."

Personally if you were trying to equate, should have used a OLD PERSON, that would be tit for tat...... in the game of online cyber jabs..... not what you chose to do that I removed...... I know you see the difference

I would argue that Notre Dame normally overperforms for a bunch of smart kids.

A true Michigan fan would boast about "most wins" regardless if the current team is good or bad. No point in erasing history Temp. Michigan's success goes back decades. Something to be proud of. It's what builds a brand. Without a past, there is no brand. Would Notre Dame have the fan base and revenue they have right now without those 11 national titles? No, no, no they wouldn't.

If past championships and achievements don't matter, why make tee shirts? Why boast on here with pictures and memes?

Geez.  Double standards.

You let that geezer get away with murder.

What’s he got on you?

Or is it that he is your best door to door salesman when donation time rolls around?

Many of those early Michigan wins came against teams they were teaching the game to along the way, including high school teams and such.  It’s actually kinda embarrassing.

The guy stalks me and gives folks my whereabouts and physical features.  It was more than “being compared to a guy on television” and you know it.

He then panhandles on behalf of this website and bullies folks consistently.

I choose to fight fire with fire, sue me.

Dude is geriatric.  Not like I am gonna go Ryan Day/Lou Holtz on him…

Good grief, don't make that public. No one knows about that. All they know is that Michigan is #1 on the all-time wins list. Just leave it at that.

Certainly you have him on ignore like I do. I have the pleasure of not seeing any of his posts. It's great.

Contrary to the belief of your fellow posters on this board, I do not believe that my favorite program is free of flaws nor above reproach.

And no, I do not have him on ignore.  Seeing his posts actually boots my self esteem.
