WRC123 Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Attica @ FC - Fountain Central has the potential to win out the rest of the season and with the weapons they have that's exactly what I think they will do. FC wins by as much as they want. RP @ NV - The number 1 Sagarin rated Panthers come into North Vermillion and win by as much as they want. This Panthers team might be the biggest and toughest team the WRC has seen since those Seeger teams in the early 2000. Some bad blood between these two teams.. could get ugly before halftime. Hats off to Sanders and all the work he and his staff have put into that program to turn it around. Games of the week Seeger @ PH - I don't know what to think about Seeger. The only team they've played was RP last week and they got thumped. Could be because RP is that good or that Seeger is not as good as what we thought. I think it's a mixture of both. Parke Heritage has played well this season but they have also played no competition. I'll take Parke Hertiage winning in a close one 28-20 SV @ Covington - Both teams aren't great but they have some good athletes to make up for it. Rumor is that the Covington qb went out last week. If that's the case that's a tough loss for them. He's a heck of an athlete. South Vermillion's qb is also one of the better athletes in the conference. I'll take the home team. Covington wins 35-20 2 Quote
ThePrince Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Attica @ Herbs - Mustangs showed that they can still play some tough football last week. The dominance will continue against a much improved Attica team. It's always great when a Herb coached team gets a win in Covington and gets to TP Herb's tree! That's great tradition he's been doing! FC by as much as they want. Riverton Parke @ North Vermillion - I've seen multiple resources stating that the Panthers are state ranked #1. It's been a while since we've had a team ranked that high! I guess they are legit and it's time to accept that THE PANTHERS HAVE ARRIVED!!! Seeger @ Parke Heritage - Seeger will be too much for the Wolves to handle. I don't see this game being close. Seeger will be hungry after that loss to RP last week. Seeger wins 35-14 South Vermillion @ Covington - Covington is banged up from last weeks match up with the Mustangs. That was the toughest team they had seen so far. I'll take the Wildcats to win in a close one 28-22 2 Quote
Marshall Mathers Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Im not sold on RP yet. Sanders is the best coach in the WRC, and it's not close, but they just haven't been tested yet. They wont get a true test until South Putnam in the sectional, but I also heard SP lost their good back. The starts could be aligning for Sanders after all. 2 Quote
DoctorShrimpPuertoRico5 Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Attica @ Fountain Central Fountain Central I believe is a good team just riddled by injuries. Not even going to bring up the whole Herb King situation that the prince was arguing about. I think this game comes down to FC just having more athletes. FC wins 42-12 Tenderloins @ North Vermilions Last season when these 2 teams met, they were instant classics. One ending in overtime and one ending on a blocked field goal. This season it won’t be like that. Tenderloins have already secured the conference. Tenderloins will rush for however many yards and touchdowns they want. RP by 50+. Seegers @ The Woofs I have to give credit to the woofs. I had them as the worst team to start the season. Usually I would throw in a remark about getting ready for basketball season in Parke county but the woofs have come alive, do they return to where they were at with the Johnson brothers? Not sure but Coach Rector is building something. Seeger on the other hand is playing well too. I’ll mark this as the game of the week in my books. I think the Patriots put up a battle but I have the Woofs moving to 4-1 with their best start since the 21 season. Woofs 34 Seeger 28 South Vermilions @ The little rubbers Both teams here are feeling the effects of graduation. I’m not sure if this is going to be an offensive battle or a defensive battle, could be either. Neither team is good. I’ll take SV 20-12 1 Quote
KDumbwitty Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Attica @ FC - Here's a little fun fact about our Hall of Famer -- He hasn't won a game at FC vs a team that finished with a winning record. Stats don't lie and that's hard to defend. (Enter The Prince.....) FC's OL/DL is too good up front for the Rambler's, but these teams did meet in the summer. I'll take the Mustang's by 20. 32-12 RP @ NV - I don't know if the Panthers are the #1 team in the state, but they cemented their place as the best team in the conference, and by a long shot. I didn't expect a mercy rule vs Seeger at halftime, even with multiple starters out of the game or hurt. RP rests up this week and plays many backups by halftime. 46-0 G Seeger @ PH - Even Marshall Mathers can see the Wolves are improved. Is it the poor WRC schedule strength or are they moving the needle in Rocktucky? This would be a nice, quality win for the Wolves, but not so fast, my friend. Seeger's kids are too much overall for the Wolves. 28-18 Seeger SV @ Covington - Coach Miller secured a nice rivalry win last week vs NV to get the Wildcats to 2-2 and Covington finally played a quality team that slowed down their offense. I like the Wildcats in this one in a close game. 20-16 2 Quote
Richard C Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Attica @ Fountain Central- Although FC is banged up, the pulled one out last week against Covington. FC is the second best team in the conference. I still am going to tip my hat to Coach Dean at Attica for doing what he does. I believe Attica may win a few more WRC games this year. FC is just to big and to physical up front. FC 49 Attica 6 RP @ NV- Last season the Panthers and the Falcons battled it out in two hard fought games. I don't think this will be the case this year. NV is on the struggle bus. RP will win out and win the WRC without a question. With the bad blood between RP and NV I believe the Panthers will rush and score how ever much they want in this game. Panthers 50+ Seeger @ Woofs- I don't think the hype train for the woofs is all that.. They haven't played anyone in the conference yet and seem to struggle a bit with the Ramblers last week. I think Seeger has more athletes than the Woofs do and will take care of business. The Woofs won't go down without a fight though... Seeger 34 Woofs 12 SV @ Covington- Can we still call SV the visors? Although Coach B left the visor tradition still holds true.. SV struggled at times last week against NV. Covington is also banged up. I am not sure whether this game will go into OT because it is 0-0 or 42-42... Visors 14 Rubbers 6 1 Quote

They've beat the brakes off of everyone they have played. They can't change who they play good or bad the Panthers are the real deal and I see them making a late playoff push this year. 1 Quote

Bear54 Posted September 17, 2025 Posted September 17, 2025 Week 5, Halfway through already? Attica @ Fountain Central - There may be another win or two waiting for the Ramblers this year. But unfortunately, this is not the week. The Mustangs are just too dang big up front. They handled the previously undefeated Trojans last week. FC 35 Attica 18 Riverton Parke @ North Vermillion. What a difference a year makes. The Panthers look to continue their WRC run. The Falcons are looking for their first win. This is also not the week for that. RP Wins Seeger @ Parke Heritage - The Patriots were definitely humbled last week. Can they bounce back this week? The Woolfs are slowly building their case. But I'm not so sure they're as good as they think they are. Seeger 28 PH 14 South Vermillion @ Covington - The Wildcats are in the same category as PH. How good are they, really? This week will go a long way in answering that question. The Trojans were beat up last week by FC. Can they right the ship? This one should be close. SV 27 Cov 26 1 Quote

SURELY they could've picked somebody up better than EDINBURGH if they knew they were going to be solid this year right? Quote

Coach Marshall - I believe it’s pretty widely known RP had a two year home/home with North Put this year in week 2 and next but NP canceled late due to their new conference. The only 1A/2A/3A open dates for week two were Edinburgh or at Lake Station on central time on a Friday night. It could have been Saturday, but those are reserved for SV on raining Friday nights, so RP took the Edinburgh game. Truth be told, the Edinburgh game was offered to PH to swap for WV in week two and declined. Hope this helps build your case for a “solid” year. And don’t call me Surely. 1 Quote
Lucy Draper Posted September 17, 2025 Posted September 17, 2025 Do any teams in the WRC do the Haka in their pre-games? I'm having trouble recalling which ones. I think it could be extremely effective in certain situations. Quote

I didn’t even realize North Putnam was on Riverton Parke’s schedule. That’s a bummer that game didn’t happen this year. It would’ve been a fun one to watch. That’s really the next step for RP. They’ve got to beef up their schedule to get ready for the playoffs. Herb did the same thing right before the Seeger incident when he went out and scheduled Lafayette Central Catholic. Back when North Vermillion was rolling, they went and scheduled Linton. Man, it’d be awesome to see Linton and RP go at it this year. I get it’s harder now though, since the WRC only allows non-conference games in Weeks 1 and 2. Quote
wabashalwaysfights Posted September 18, 2025 Posted September 18, 2025 "Beefing up" ones schedule is not nearly as simple as it would appear. Sometimes simply getting an opponent, any opponent, is a small miracle. When programs can do it, "beefing up," it obviously is ideal: see Seeger picking up West Lafayette years ago when they were in their hey-day in the early 00s, but sometimes it is simply not possible. Part of this is due to the way conferences have gone to scheduling: the WRC now, like the old Sagamore did years ago, has gone to a format whereby all of your non-conference games have to be in weeks 1 and 2. I am not entirely sure of the rationale for this, though I could hazard a guess, but the result is that schools become limited in their options for those non-conference games. 2 Quote

Nah, they would went to watch the FC/Southmont game to scout the Mustangs and not jeopardized their JV’s three year winning streak. The good news is the moms got some great shopping in at the Edinburgh Outlet mall. Back to Library class. 2 Quote

I've heard they have around 50 players on their roster this year is there any truth to that? I just can't imagine a school in the WRC having 50 kids on the roster. Quote

Agree with what Wabash Walley said above - It's easier now to schedule very competitive summer scrimmages than it is to find games in the weeks 1 and 2 slot. Kudos to those schools that can and are willing to do this. As someone mentioned earlier, RP's summer schedule was loaded, and I know Seeger went to Linton as well. Both coaches didn't take on cupcakes but assume both expected to compete at a high level this fall. Quote
