every single loss of BD is to a ranked opponent, and Merrillville doesn't have a single quality win.

Swap their schedules and their records will swap identically, though the losses Merrillville would suffer would be more pronounced

It's very obviously not a ranking of who he thinks the best 25 teams are, similar to how cfb polls work to an extent. This poll would be extremely boring and repetitive week-to-week if he was posting who he thought the 25 best teams are

I actually like his method of ranking the best teams as long as they have a winning record.

Couldn't agree more. Are there a couple state contending teams in the area, absolutely. Are there more than 1 or 2 teams that are top 25 in the entire state, not likely.

I do root for them as I have a close friend whose sons play/played there, but they are not my favorite by any means, I'm a LC boy through and through, but I don't have much ties to the program anymore.

 

I just don't think they are really "overrated" and I think your hate for them is pretty unwarranted. Since Shanley has taken over they've beat Westfield, Noblesville, Lawrence Central, Crown Point, smoked Avon last year (who beat Ben Davis the next week), almost beat Chatard this year, and came within 2 points of beating FW Carroll in Regionals (who beat HSE next week en route to a state appearance).

 

Are they better than most of those teams on a yearly basis? Besides Noblesville, probably not. But they are pretty solid dude, I really don't know why you dislike them so much. They play a crappy schedule obviously and have very few chances to compete against high-quality opponents, but thats not their fault.

 

And for the record, in regards to your 5a rankings, I think New Pal and Cathedral would beat them, likely Merrillville and maybe East Central too. I see Concord as a toss up and would favor Jeff over Plainfield and Bloomington South (who have no good wins just like Jeff).

 

Their game against Chatard is free on ihsaatv, go watch it if you'd like.

I wouldn't say "generous." More than likely just plain accurate. I really don't have any reason to believe that Merrillville isn't a Top 25 team. Temps only error is Northrop. Carroll will beat them next week by two touchdowns. I get it though, he's rewarding them for their 5-1 record.

Ok, let’s go by each region except for Indy area. Tell me the top programs in each region. NW,NE,SW,SE.

NW: Merrillville, CP, Valpo, Hobart, Lowell, and Andrean

NE: Carroll, Snider, BD, BL, ???

SE: East Central, ???

SW: GS, HH, EMD, EM, ??

All of this NW bashing is ridiculous and unfounded.

Not saying there aren't good programs in the NW, just tired of listening to all you NW guys break an arm jerking off the NW like there's going to be 4 of the 6 state champions in football every year coming from that area. There hasn't been a state champion from NW since Valpo in 2021 or 2022 which is recent, but every year the NW talks like there's going to be at least one if not two every year. Yes NW has good football, they don't have 5 teams playing top 25 football in the state. There are maybe 2 a year.

Please, name all of these NW guys on here busting that stuff. The reality is there are very few people from NWI that actually post in here. I know of one individual that exaggerates often. The football in NW Indiana is as good or better than the other 4 regions around the State excluding Indy area.

Humor me, and fill out the top programs in the various corners. Honestly, I’m really struggling to identify many in a couple of the corners.
