23andCounting Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 You pretty much nailed this one. I'd like to see Carroll move up to 10 and DC down to 16. Wondering if Dwenger's good enough to sneak in somewhere between 21-25. Also curious how Northrop would do against HH and GS. 1 Quote

I agree regarding Dwenger, I think people are overlooking how great the Defense really is. They held Temp’s #12 and #20 teams to a total of 9 points. Northrop almost doubled the amount of points they scored on Dwenger last night against Carroll. Quote

BLACKGOLD2007 Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Carroll is going to make the regional game, I think their rematch with Northrop will be a better defended game not the high scoring shoot out it was this past weekend. They are my lock for sectional 2 to match up with my prediction of CP to come out of 1. I think Carmel will be the North representative at state this year. Quote

North and Center Grove v Warren I think it is going to be between Brownsburg and Center Grove Going chalk. Quote

Carroll was leading Northrop 27-7 at halftime. By far the better team. A date with Crown Point is looming as long as CP doesn't sleep on Penn. Quote

I think they let up, then won the game when they needed to. They're a very opportunistic team. Dwenger had them down two touchdowns going into the 4th and ended up losing. The Bruins just have the kind of athletes most coaches only dream of having, I just don't think the program is ready to roll with the big dogs. Quote

The program is having a very good year. Defense leaves much to be desired, although the best one they've put together during Bowen's reign as head coach. To put into perspective, I'd have them right underneath Jeff and Merrillville if they were a 5A school. They just aren't ready for the top half of 6A. Quote

A "minor headache" like one gets when they are dehydrated. Northrop might have the best player on the field in your hypothetical scenario, but I guarantee Carmel/Brownsburg would have 15-16 of the remaining 21. Running clock easily. I love and support Fort Wayne area football, but dude, this is too much. Northrop being mentioned with the blue bloods is blasphemy. We are talking like 56-7 whipping bad. Northrop better hope that Carroll takes care of them in Sectionals as if they line up against Carmel, it might be another 40 years before they rear their head again… 2 Quote

I was just giving some insight to @BLACKGOLD2007 regarding Northrop. Sorry it triggered you to suggest that they have some athletes that would give any team nightmares to defend. Again, I'm sorry. All the best athletes are from Indianapolis, just like all the best teams are. Quote

I find it humorous that key words get several poster's panties in a bunch. Never did I say that Northrop would give the best teams in Indy a good game. Was simply giving some insight to another poster regarding the Bruins. Good team, but not ready for the best 6A has to offer. Carroll proved that by going up 27-7 before letting off the gas. I love this forum, the entertainment value is priceless. Just now, Rodney said: I think maybe call it indy and the surrounding area Well, let's just call it "surrounding area." Football in Indy city proper is atrocious. Quote

Temp, I’m not letting you off the hook here. Fishers won a state title in 2010, what else have they ever done? Avon? HSE? Lawrence North? Lawrence Central? Franklin Central? Indy football is based on 4-5 programs at the 6A level, the rest are no better than the rest of the state. You can trick yourself into believing those are great programs, I ain’t buying. Just because they share a conference with the blue bloods doesn’t make them a blue blood. Rant over Quote
