Yeah, that and the “what if” the QB doesn’t go down early.  

Not a moral victory guy but Merrillville really showed me something last night.

That was a 50/50 call in my opinion. Great coach. Hard to blame him either way.

At the end of the day, normally, the better team figures out a way to win. That's what New Pal did, so congrats to them. But anyone who thought Merrillville wasn't going to come in and make a dogfight out this was in a state of denial in my opinion. The Pirates are good and their resume shows it, very well coached. Period, nothing left to be said.

Doubt that. As a coach you make the best decision at the time based on the info you have……I never second guessed anything.

I don’t know if anyone follows the state to our west - but Illinois had to postpone today’s 5A - 8A games due to severe winter weather. 

They were supposed to be played outdoors at Illinois State in Normal. 

Another thing - because they try to squeeze in a 4th game, the 4A game kicked off at 7:50 and ended at 10:50PM. (1A started at 10 AM.) 

So even though I think IHSAA could improve the Lucas Oil postgame, they still run a better state finals weekend than Illinois.

4th and one in a 7 point game on your own 20 yard line, in a game that has been an absolute dog fight, with over 7 minutes to go. If you get it, you may still end up punting. If you don’t, you probably just lost the game. I have been coaching for almost 20 years and I still think about bad calls I made in youth league…

This poor announcer was in the 2A game. His head is spinning along with the Brownstown offense lol…

It should be a requirement if you’re calling a STATE FINALS game- you at least have a clue on the offense lol

I was a HC for seven years, never once wanted a redo. I made the best decision with the info I had. Now if you want to argue it was a bad decision, fair enough. 
 

Obviously it goes without saying, some losses were easier to let go of than others.

Radio announcer just said Andrean ran consecutive ‘Tush Push’ plays.

One of my pet peeves. Not every QB sneak is a tush push. Which isn’t even legal in HS football.

Really not surprised by this one either. If you can beat Adams Central, you're probably capable of beating anyone within your weight class. Can't say I really knew anything about Brownstown going into this one.
