After all , that's all they needed last year was an opportunity and we all seen what happened . A sleeping giant is being woken up , the haters can't deal with it . They know they can run their mouth now , but their time is limited .

And Notre Dame is better this year, lol. I've been saying for the last seven weeks. NO ONE wants to play Notre Dame right now. With the injury to IU's D lineman, I've got Notre Dame and Ohio State in a deadlock as the favorite to win the whole thing.............that's if Notre Dame didn't get bamboozled.

I consider conference championships, money making machines, regular season. Bama had an opportunity to showcase themselves only to prove they don't belong with the best. Had they lost by 7 or 10, they'd have a case. They were humiliated shortly after barely beating Auburn. Don't give me this rivalry bull crap. Bama barely beat them because they are barely better than them.

I don’t trust a guy whose favorite team has never been in a conference thus has never played in a conference championship contest.

Sorry.

Honest question since you @GOLDRUSH1985 keep mentioning “close losses”.

Did you watch the first Oklahoma/Bama game?

If folks’ time was limited and a giant has been woken up, then why did the Irish pull out of their bowl game?

I’d want to play as soon as possible and send a message.

Instead, they whined, stuck their tail between their legs, took their ball and went home.

Losers.

Don't even go there. Oklahoma fans are pissed that they have to beat this team for a third time. The Tide getting in is a joke. You know this Temp, you just enjoy the debate. Trust me, I'll find other things to debate with you to scratch that itch, just admit that Notre Dame is better than Alabama. You know in your heart that they are. You're just pushing buttons.

Third time now?  What are you even rambling about?

I will assume that means NO, you didn’t watch the first contest.

Hit up the box score and tell me what you notice.

Why is Bama favored by 1.5 Friday?

Don’t you like citing “Vegas?”

Posted (edited)

Ohio State     30%

Notre Dame     30%    (had they not got screwed by ESPN)

Indiana     20%     (injury bug, otherwise 30%)

Georgia     20%

Rest of the field     0%

Notre Dame was a 5.5 point favorite. Case closed.

Why line ESPN's pockets when they are the ones that just screwed you? Plus outside the CFP, they are meaningless bowls . Guys going into the NFL draft won't play anyway .

Agree. Bowl games just need to go away.

Why not IU?

IU goes 12-0. But really, they're not going to beat Ohio State for the Big Ten Championship, right? Fast forward to 13-0. Okay, they got it done, but just barely. These teams in the playoffs are LOADED with four and five star kids. Certainly they don't have it in them to run off three more games.

I dunno, that's just where I'm at. But hey, guys who are a lot smarter than me (Saban and Meyer), think pretty highly of these Hoosiers. Was it Meyer who said this IU team is the most fundamentally sound football team he's ever seen?

Indiana has a legitimate chance to win the natty. One team that nobody is talking about and I believe is a serious threat to win the title is Texas Tech. Only loss was when their QB was hurt, otherwise, they have been dominant

Actually, Texas Tech is all over talk radio. Everyone seems to like them. But you're right, when they win, they look good doing it.

Yes.  I also am all in on TTU.

I hope not all....that would only be 12 teams for the post season...soon to be 16.  There can be some other outstanding matchups outside the top 16 in FBS.

I agree Tech looks incredible defensively.  Assuming Oregon beats JMU, the TTU vs Oregon game will be an interesting one to watch.  Not sure the Big 12 provides the team speed Tech will see in Oregon...and the quality of QB.

Temp's P4 proposal...

1.  Four 20 team mega conferences in which teams are divided into four divisions of five teams each.

2. Each team plays its own division (4 games) and two games against each other division.

3. This eliminates the need for P4 teams to schedule one another out of conference so they can have 2 buy games to prepare.  That adds up to 12 games.

4. At the end of the regular season, the division winners are matched up in conference semi-finals.  The remaining division finishers can get one more game by playing the team in another division that finished in their same place (2vs2, 3vs3, 4vs4, 5vs5).

5.  The two winners of those semi-final contests play in the conference championship game.

6.  With an expanded playoff, the division winners are your 16 teams.  The last two weeks determines seeding.

7.  The others, and non-P4 teams can play in the meaningless bowl games.

At least you admit the Bowl games outside the CFP are meaningless .

Really like this. I would suggest augmenting it with a dramatic event where the 80 P4 schools are randomly assigned to divisions. Each school’s name is on a ping pong ball, and placed in a hopper. Pull them out to assign the divisions. In fact, you could reshuffle the divisions every year. Make an annual show of it.

But 365 days ago @23andCounting kept going on and on about how Notre Dame was a different team at the beginning of the season then they were in December.

But won’t give Bama that same grace.

Maybe Georgia improved and is just really damn good?

Nothing against @23andCounting, but that’s hardly surprising.

There is no reason to believe Georgia isn’t better now than they were in September. The problem is that Alabama is also looking like a different team. Still, I like the Tide against fake Baker and the boys from Norman in the dysfunctional offense bowl. The winner of that one is in for a rough ride against IU’s defense.

Getting embarrassed by Georgia in the championship game isn't a very good look for a playoff team that is "improving."

How much improvement would we be giving Bama credit for if they had this murderer’s row down the stretch?

@ Boston College

vs Navy

@ Pitt

vs Syracuse

Stanford

Notre Dame didn’t beat anyone.  This isn’t hard.
