To your point Irish….

I never had a problem with the field, but, for me, but Oklahoma benefitted the most from this effect.

Only 1 of these 14 saw any regular playing time. The defensive end who committed to IU next year is the only starter to leave so far. Not much chance any of the others were going to see any significant action.

I was at the Al Smith and witnessed the entire altercation. I have no doubt in my mind that Chris Fleeger will be fired at New Prairie high school . A quick Google search shows this guys rap sheet and character . Burglary, battery, protective order against him, and 14 or so speeding/traffic violations.

Hmmmm, my traffic violations count is pushing 15 I believe. Anyways..........

I can't imagine, seeing how Marcus Freeman conducts himself as the coach of Notre Dame, that anyone took this thing remotely serious. Sounds like you have have a hot head who wants to be in the headlines and potentially an easy payday. There are some stupid coaches out there that may compromise themselves in a situation like that, but Freeman isn't one of them.

I don't disagree...what I found interesting is when the article in The South Bend Tribune stated that the police had conducted their investigation and turned it over to the prosecutor for a decision to be made about prosecution.  Perhaps it could be more about prosecution of the high school coach?  Regardless, unfortunate.

Honestly, if South Bend is anything like Fort Wayne, I have a hard time believing anything they say. Sorry, had some dishonest run-ins with the media in the past.

Glad to hear that Freeman was the bigger man in this situation and walked away. The little guy will have a story to tell his friends. A win/win.

Notre Dame's first portal commitment. I know folks around this part of the State were hoping they would get a different WR from Ohio State that came from the area. This is a great catch

seems like ND started late on portal offers.

Not exactly. More accurate to say they started late on getting accepted offers in the portal … if you get my meaning. 😉

When a player goes over the border, this Irish fan doesn't care one way or another if he ever returns. Just sayin.

Secondary will be stocked. I wonder how Brandon Logan is progressing. They were very optimistic about him coming in. He must be pretty excited to play football, otherwise, I'm sure he would have stuck with his commitment to play baseball at Vanderbilt.

This is all you need to know about New Prairies Chris Fleeger

The prosecutor's office added the following, regarding the complainant (Fleeger):

  • From a jurisdiction outside of St. Joseph County.
  • Later identified as the Complainant.
  • The Complainant admitted to detectives that he had previously tried to recruit Mr. Freeman’s son to wrestle at another high school and join the Complainant’s wrestling club.  The Freeman family had declined to do so.
  • Another witness advised Detectives that the Complainant had voiced his anger at the Freeman family, telling the witness that he was encouraging other wrestlers to harm Mr. Freeman’s son.  This witness told the Freeman family of these threats.  The Complainant has denied making those threats.

This is sad for Fleeger. Hopefully he loses his job for this. How pathetic to tell police on the scene he had to be told who Freeman was. Anyone in that part of the state is going to know who Freeman is.
