A lot of people don’t know it, but the most historically successful athletic program at Notre Dame is the fencing team. NCAA championships start this week. Irish have won 14 national championships,  4 of the last 5, and 6 of the last 9. Irish currently ranked #1 in NCAA.

How much NIL money does a top rated college fencer take home?

#1 Irish stickmen move to 7-0, as their defense absolutely stifles the Skunk Bears, 9-4. After taking 3 straight from the B1G, Irish move to the ACC Schedule: Virginia, North Carolina (#5), Duke (#6), and Syracuse (#8), plus a non-conference against #2 Richmond. Going to be a brutal stretch run.

Just to keep you all updated. This is the first year the NCAA has divided the team championship in fencing into men’s and women’s teams. The women’s championship finished last night, with the Irish women taking home the championship. This weekend is the men’s. Stay tuned, as the Irish go for the sweep.

That’s why we need to keep all that playoff money.

Notre Dame says families with incomes under $150K will pay no tuition

If the family income is <$200K, you pay 50% tuition. And if your family income is <$60K, both tuition and housing are free. Last year tuition and housing at Notre Dame for a school year was a bit over $67K.

If you’re going to talk about providing opportunities for the disadvantaged, this is how you put your money where your mouth is.

Spring practice has started, and the primary project is the O-line. Here’s how they started the Spring.

LT: Will Black (6’7/316)
LG: Anthonie Knapp (6’5/304)
C:  Joe Otting (6’4/306)
RG: Sullivan Absher (6’7/325)
RT: Guerby Lambert (6’7/322)

The team’s mantra this season: “Leave no doubt!”

Today is the 95th anniversary of one of the darkest days in the history of the University. It was on this day in 1931 that a plane crash claimed the life of the legendary Knute Rockne. Rock was only 43 when he died. Imagine what he might have accomplished had he lived a full life.

There will be a new #1 in men’s lacrosse this week … again. For the 2nd weekend in a row, the Irish dominate the #1 ranked team. This week the victim was top-ranked North Carolina who visited South Bend, and were completely stifled in the 10-5 Irish victory. ND should be back in the top spot today. 2 games left before the ACC Tournament: at Duke, and home against likely #2 Syracuse.

Was unaware of this. This might be a more dominant dynasty than Cael Sanderson and the Penn State wrestling program.

Not ND ‘26, but former ND soccer player turned NFL kicker, Brandon Aubree (sp.) becomes highest paid kicker.  All time I believe.

Irish Men’s Lacrosse punches their ticket to the Final Four by dominating John’s Hopkins in the 2nd half. Final was 15-9. Irish now hunting their 3rd National Championship in the last 4 yrs. Next up in the semifinals is the winner of Syracuse vs. North Carolina, both of whom Notre Dame beat in the regular season.

I will always think of this when I see or hear Johns Hopkins

Spring of my junior year we played at Hopkins on our Spring Break trip. They drubbed us, of course. But they put us up in a couple of fraternity houses, and we clearly won the evening’s events.

Irish lacrosse punch their ticket to Monday’s National Championship game vs. Princeton by outscoring Syracuse 6-0 in the 4th period, to pull away 15-7. Playing for their 3rd Natty in the last 4 seasons. Now the gold standard of college lacrosse programs. They’ve come a long way from this:
