I’m not familiar with the WRC or the teams around that area.  I have read Coach King is a HOF and folks around all parts like certain coaches, etc. etc.  what makes Coach King “legendary”?  No shade or negativity intended with this post.  Thank you.

Let's not forget he played under the legendary Coach King. He was a great offensive lineman. Sadly lineman don't usually record many stats.

Legendary coaches don't usually get fired from every place they have coached at, usually schools hold onto legendary coaches as long as they can.

There are a lot of things legendary coaches don't do...

Hilarious. I was a decent player for 1A football, we won a lot of games under coach king, over 40, and had a lot of fun.  Mostly road the coattails of Matt King, Kent, etc and lost to the FC state finalists in back to back sectional championships my JR and SR year. Bastards.

I coached under Moore for 5-6 years here at PH and ran his OL, and learned as much offense as I could cram in from him and Coach Sheldon. RIP. Been doing lots of studying and helped with the PH JH this year.  To be a good head coach you have to be in the building and manage your players in weights everyday, that’s not an option for me. On a serious note, I do plan on coaching at the varsity level again this next year.

Like Kevin Allen, I seem to be a bull in a china shop type of character, if you aren’t confident in yourself or want to win at the level I do, I’ll come off the wrong way but I’ll outwork anyone and the kids love me no matter at what level I’m at. We get stuff done, jump on board or stay out the way.  If I can coach for Moore, I can coach under anyone. Not sure where I will end up but I need to start making some calls and seeing if I can get hired on. Visor and polos will come with me.

Correction -   That would be the “Credit Union 1 JUCO National Championship”.   Better Banking for All.   🙂.    Google it.

The last thing FC needs is anyone on the current staff to be head coach and I’ll say it right to his dad’s face!

Truth! Forget head coach, it seems pretty clear that those assistants aren’t even cut out to be assistant coaches.

Just asking for a friend, does Herb leaving mean that the prince will finally stop talking about him in every conversation? Once again, just asking for a friend.

I think it means that the WRC thread will have some BC talk every week. There’s no way that ThePrince quits talking about TheKing. But it’s also fitting since TheKing has been at so many WRC schools. He might have to be honored as WRC coach emeritus.

Is this a real question?! What makes King so legendary is the impact he has on a program. Before Herb took over at FC they were a combined 4-23. The four years he was at FC they were 20-21. Is that great? Well its a heck of a lot better than 4-23. He takes struggling teams (most the time the worst in the state) and he turns them into competitive teams. If we look at Sagarin Ratings at the past couple schools he's been at

Seeger in 2015 before he got there was a 12.61 / his last year 56.03

FC in 2021 before King they were 25.52 / his last year 50.27

Those are huge increases! and it takes him only a couple of years to get these teams competitive. Benton Central was a -.17 (yes that's a negative) this year. If the trend continues BC will be at least 30 points better next season.

Again can anyone tell me where I can find some BC Bison gear?????

You’ll be able to find his work on the Hoosier conference threads. BC will be the best 1-8 team in the state!

You know that ThePrince will keep the WRC threads full of and updated with The King’s love.

Donnie, do you know what The King said to ThePrince as he left FC for BC?

Bye-Son.

@ Crawfordsville 2022

@ RP 2017

Both rookie head coaches.   Both 3 win teams in each of those seasons

Cronk to Seeger!

Sounds like the legendary Jacob Earl is still in play. Which lucky school will end up with him at the helm?

Congrats to Coach Scott Cronk and to the Cronk family.  Coach Cronk has been instrumental in our run here at Lafayette Jeff over the last 11 years.  His players are going to be extremely tough and play extremely hard each and every time they stop onto the field.  Go Patriots!
