East leads 14-7 at the half

My buddy is at the game. She said that FC looks like they don't even want to be there. East has outplayed them in all phases and has been the tougher team.

I’ve been listening on the radio. Floyd Central has struggled moving the ball but East keeps leaving the door open for them. It’ll be an interesting fourth quarter.

East might have just sealed it. Up 27-14 with Floyd Central at the 3 yard line on a 4th and goal. The pass into the endzone was intercepted and returned 102 yards for a touchdown. East leads 34-14 with 6:01 left. Really kicking myself for not picking East in this game. I was strongly considering it.

East D-Line and O-Line were physical tonight. East fumbling the ball on the FC 5 yard line before half I thought was going to come back to haunt them. Both Floyd and East turning it over at the goal line were killers at the time. East is very improved from where they were at the beginning of the season. I would have lost my house and boat had I had to pick this game.  I thought Floyd was 10-13 points better.  I still think these 2 teams are pretty even.. East might win 6 of the 10, but it would be a toss up in almost every game.

East plays Bloomington North next week, which will be an uphill battle.

Bloomington North 52 New Albany 7 (final)

Look forward to the Bloomington North vs East game next week. Will be a challenge for East but East has vastly improved from week 1 against South. East’ defense was actually good against South week 1, the offense just couldn’t do anything and put the Defense in bad positions.

I obviously wasn't at the game. I was at the IU game today. But I'll congratulate East on their win today and most likely winning the HHC title. I've talked to a few people and I've heard a whole bunch of excuses but I'm not going down that rabbit whole. East was obviously the better team today. I'm not really suprised since I really haven't been impressed with the leadership of the Senior class. It's a small class. And we still seem undersized a little bit. 230-240 Lb lineman is fine but we go up against 270-280 Lb lineman on other teams. I think this SO/JR class needs another winter and spring in the weight room. This might be a good loss for FC. Maybe it helps in the Sectional? Good win for East.

BNL 41

Jennings County 14

Final

I obviously wasn’t at this game either. But from everything I heard, BNL did want to be at this game and showed it. Impressed by the senior leadership, especially being so small with only having 5.
Congrats to coach barker and his staff. I hope they celebrate by eating a whole rabbit.

Good try. Maybe next time.

Hopefully we get the Bloomington North team that lost to Mooresville and struggled with Terre Haute North.

New Albany is just bad. And they're down some starters.

Oh I know but Bloomington North is really good when they’re on their A-game.

It's a good litmus test for East. Have they turned a big corner and are on the way back? Or did Floyd Central just play like dog 💩? I've heard both from observers. But that will be a big and interesting game on Friday.

I was told Floyd looked extremely weak on the lines. East’s O-Line was way too physical for Floyd’s D-Line.

That's probably true. Our Front 7 has struggled this season. We lost some pretty good dudes from last season. I won't make excuses but we definitely need another year in the weight room.

It happens man. Another year will do those underclassmen good, and they are getting a year under their belt. Will only continue to improve and get stronger too.

East's linemen are small and young.

I was really surprised.  I figured that Floyd had more play makers.  East had more yards given to them by Columbus North in penalties than actual yards earned.

This conference has become very weak.  Hopefully there is more young talent coming up with several HHC teams.

Yeah if it wasn’t evident already the HHC is pretty bad then the fact East is looking to go 6-0 in it is all the proof we need. I can believe that they have improved since the beginning of the season but Bloomington North this week will be the true test as to how much they’ve improved. Based on the first two weeks, the gap was a huge one and I doubt we’ve closed that huge of a gap.

Nevertheless, I’ll be excited to win the HHC (if we can beat Jeff) because I never thought it was possible and we haven’t won it in four years. Little steps here and there I suppose. Hopefully we can build on it.

Floyd Central played a bad game from what I heard. You have to give credit to East obviously. But when it's 4th and goal at 3 yard line and you throw a 95+ yard pick 6, you're gonna take your medicine. East was ready to play. FC wasn't. That's how it went I assume.
