Frozen Tundra Posted September 17, 2025 Posted September 17, 2025 Week 5 Picks BNL (3-1, 2-0 HHC) at Seymour (0-4, 0-3 HHC): This looks to be a bad matchup for the Owls. The Stars have a stellar offense (34.8 PPG) while Seymour’s defense leaves much to be desired (37.3 PPG). The purple and black have won three of the last four but BNL takes this one easily. Seymour leads the all-time series 26-24. Floyd Central (3-1, 1-0 HHC) at Jeffersonville (2-2, 1-1 HHC): Speaking of powerful offenses, the Highlanders come into this game averaging 43.8 PPG. If their one common game with Seymour is any indication, this spells trouble for the Red Devils. Floyd Central has won five in a row in this series and 13 of the last 14. Jeff’s last regular season win against the Highlanders was in 2014. I don’t anticipate that changing. Floyd Central rolls to a win. The all-time series is tied 27-27. New Albany (0-4, 0-1 HHC) at Columbus East (2-2, 2-0 HHC): I’m not sure what’s going on with New Albany but this team might be the worst they’ve ever had. The Olympians may not be great but I imagine we’ll see a running clock in this one. East has won three in a row in the series and 22 of the last 23. Those streaks will continue. The Olympians lead the all-time series 28-6. Madison (0-4) at Jennings County (1-3): For the second week in a row, the lone non-conference game is the best game of the week. The Battle of the Railroad has been an interesting one over the last 12 years. Here are some crazy trends. No team has won two in a row in the series since Jennings County defeated the Cubs in the 2016 sectionals and the 2017 regular season. No team has won two in a row in the regular season in the series since Jennings County did so in 2012 and 2013. No team has won a road game in the series since Jennings County did so in 2012 (and it took them overtime to do it). The Cubs have a chance to break all of those Friday by scoring a road win (for the first time since 2009) and consecutive wins (for the first time since 2008 and 2009). The Panthers have been dealing with injuries and dwindling numbers in the past week or two so now would be the perfect opportunity for the Cubs to take advantage. The problem is, they’re not good either. I’ll take the Panthers in a close one. JC leads the all-time series 32-29. Quote

Impartial_Observer Posted September 18, 2025 Posted September 18, 2025 Well I accidentally hit accept on EL, looks like I’m headed to Madison Saturday morning as well. I told the bus driver not to wait on me. I’m sure there’ll be a trip to the Red Pepperoni after and I’ll probably enjoy a cigar on the way home. 2 Quote

I haven't been there but as a wannabe Pizza "Connoisseur", sounds like I need to go try it out. Quote

Frozen Tundra Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 After the kick return, Jennings County lobs a bomb down the field on the first play only for it to get intercepted and returned into field goal range. Madison then kicked a 26 yard field goal and leads 13-0 with 3 seconds left in the half. Quote
Frozen Tundra Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 3 yard TD run by JC. 13-7 Madison with 6:49 left in the 3rd. Quote
Frozen Tundra Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Jennings County recovers the onside kick and marches down the field before finishing it off with a 35 yard QB keeper. PAT missed. We’re tied at 13 with 5:07 left in the 3rd. Quote
Frozen Tundra Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 24 yard QB keeper for a TD by Jennings County. They now lead 20-13 with 1:00 left in the 3rd. Quote
Impartial_Observer Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Seymour is down 24-7 end of three. Best I’ve seen them play all year, they just have a lot of guys playing V who aren’t really ready. Quote

Frozen Tundra Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 16 yard TD pass by Jennings County. They lead 41-20 with 40.4 seconds left. Quote
Frozen Tundra Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Jennings County wins 41-20. Not sure what Burton said to them at the half but they outscored Madison 41-7 in the second half. A completely different team. 1 1 Quote
Frozen Tundra Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 (edited) East beat New Albany 49-28 and only led 21-14 at the half. Pitiful performance by East when New Albany’s biggest offensive output prior to tonight was 14 points. Floyd Central and BNL will steamroll us. Edited September 20, 2025 by Frozen Tundra 1 Quote
