They're trailing Illinois at the moment but they're looking like they care! That's good to see! those early turnovers just hurts when you have such a small margin of error but hey at least were not PENN ST......... ( whispers wish we had Penn St talent every year) Quote

Hopefully a couple more improvements in the portal forthcoming for Box Defenders, they have some decent DBs I think , just missing some dudes to stop the run and get pressure on QB: I like #5 Correa, Soph MLB transferred in from UNLV with ODOM, he seems like a legit B10 Box defender right now. Bash Riprock Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 Coach, I didn’t see much of this game other than some highlights, but Boilers must have battled. Seeing some promise??? Final score got my attention, especially on the road in The Big House. 1 Quote

Underwood had one of the worst performances from a QB you’ll see. Glad he’s making $10+ million, don’t see Michigan’s staff developing him the next 2-3 years. 1 Quote

Coach Nowlin Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 Hold judgement til final product takes field in Sept 2026, HOWEVER, don't see a lot of momentum right now, but long way to go . Hiring Kevin Kane is head scratcher but I will trust Coach Odom Sounds like Purdue was throwing more money out there, but AD Boboski relying too much on Govt settlement and is getting left farther behind sadly it seems. Coach, my wardrobe alone with the age will demonstrate I have been an IU football fan for years...Got hooked as a kid sitting in the Knothole section of the end zone for the cheap tickets close to the field in Btown. That being said, I was quiet because my expectations were pretty grounded...enjoyed a couple of years during the Corso and Mallory tenures, but pretty darn limited. Just because one is quiet, doesn't mean they aren't a fan or aren't investing. Simply means they don't fabricate or embellish things to cheer about...they wait until its earned. Then again, long time Cubs fan....perhaps I have learned to live with limited expectations....and then celebrate when I am surprised. Edited June 10 by Bash Riprock Quote

Not sure why the statement I made was read to individually "call out " Komet or other IU fans who spend in this forum.... HOWEVER, you and I both know, many folks turned the ND jacket back to IU and are fans all of sudden of both and others who have completely disregarded IU football all of a sudden have been a "fan for years". Neither of those apply to you 2 gentleman for the record Now back to Purdue, you know because the thread is about them...... Just another 4 star In State kid says YES to Barry Odom and Purdue https://www.on3.com/rivals/kaleb-elkins-249256/ Beat out Tenn, Vandy, KY, OSU among others Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Elkins had official visits lined up to Vanderbilt and Tennessee prior to his pledge, while he held offers from Ohio State, Missouri, Alabama, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, Louisville, Wisconsin, Arizona State, Kansas, Kentucky, and others. It is rare for players of that ilk to head to West Lafayette straight out of high school, but that is exactly what Elkins is set to do with his pledge. Purdue has been on fire on the recruiting trail of late, and may have just landed the gem of its entire class on Wednesday. Quote

Having been an Indiana fan all my life, almost 60 years, I know the frustration of losing better than most. Been a Cleveland Indians fans, screw the Guardians nickname, so no World Series in my lifetime. Finally, a huge Cleveland Browns as well Never been to a Super Bowl either. I thumped my chest about IU football in the 10+ years of being in this forum with many negative comments. I get it. My daughter is a Purdue graduate and I have rooted for Purdue, except against IU, for a long time. Purdue had been leaderless for a long time and it will take time to get the ship righted. At some point, they will win a Big 10 game and then another and then another. Maybe it will be this year, maybe not. Boiler up!!! 1 Quote
