Fantastic.

With Corydon+Salem both turf....

Weeks-- scrimmage through week 9-- we will play 1 game on grass. Next season, obviously when the schedule is flipped, we will play 2.

3 games over a two year time frame played on grass.

That's awesome. Can't wait to see pictures of Corydon's field. Should be done I'd imagine.

16 days out they posted this morning showing them getting the actually turf on the foundation. So just started the final phase, or seemingly close to that. Those crews operate with pretty good efficiency though.

I would think they'll be able to practice on it all week before the first game. (maybe the crew that did the Salem turf went to Corydon afterwards).. just a guess.

With ours--- the crew that did it was at Jennings County putting their turf in before ours. They finished ours on Thursday afternoon with a home game on Friday lol

That was a quick change. Haha. What for?

Something to do with Forest Park recently re-sodded their field and have had issues. Not sure if its just affects their scrimmage or more games.

Looks like they won't have to be on it until the first week in September now.  FP plays at Princeton and Perry to open the season.  They won't play at home until Tell City comes to town on September 6 (Week 3).

I'm not sure who is putting CC field in, but the Hellas crew here was going back and forth between here and Lucas Oil Stadium when they had to convert back to football from swimming.

Pretty impressive crew to watch. 12-14 hour days and worked most weekends. Finished a couple weeks ahead of schedule. It took just a little more than 2 weeks after they initially laid the turf to have a finished field. Amazing how they cut everything in.

Brownstown Central is looking for a JV game Week 3.

We were planning to travel, we would prefer to play Monday Sept 9th, but we could play Saturday Sept 7th, as well.

This mean Pekin won't have a JV again? Could mean WW looking for JV week 1

Mitchell scrimmages Salem

I was thinking Crawford County and Pike Central were scrimmage opponents.

In the past, Perry Central and Southridge were. Not sure if they still are.

Yes, Perry is at Southridge.  Tell City is at home vs. McLean Co., KY.

You guys should scrimmage McLean Co.

I assume Wagner is still there?

Just got back from scrimmage at WW. WW did ok on offense. Moved the ball but stalled out in RZ. New QB Gavin Hunt looked pretty good. Freshman RB Xander McPheeters got alot of work. Not sure if that's the plan or just keeping Jamesdon Collier fresh. Line was reshuffled quite a bit from last year. Defensively they struggled against NH power. Had 35 dressed if I counted correctly so about 10 less then last year. Although the JH is around 50 so may be last year for that. 4 seniors....2 played significant time last couple years and 2 others are trying to get starting roles but will be pushed by younger guys. All in all was ok. Young team in a new offense (full triple option style flexbone) so I imagine it'll be a struggle at times. How was everyone else's scrimmages?

I went to the FC-Charlestown game, as I am a FC fan. Charlestown has a pretty good running game. Their passing game has a ways to go but they have some guys I like at the skill positions.

Is Perry doing anything different this year? I know new coach is from within but didn't know if he changed your scheme or anything

The jackets went into the scrimmage banged up. No Gavin Robinson and Kaden Mullis.

Offensively we moved the ball, but it was primarily through the air. Once Robinson and Mullis are back, should see a lot more balance. Salem was able to run the very effectively whenever they wanted.

I sound like a broken record, but we'll only go as far as our line can take us. Depth is also an issue. When healthy, I think we have 10-12 "good" players. We can compete for a half, then will struggle to keep our head above water in the 2nd half.

Robinson is a stud. The 10th grade has some talent at skill positions. Again, nothing coming down the pipe for the line.

Wishing coach See the best of luck this year! Hoping he gets the time and resources he needs to build a program.

For this year to make it more challenging, I think we are going to use the point spreads used on the John Harrell's site to pick games. Week 1 does not have points on so starting next week, I will list spreads as well.

Week 1 Match-Ups:

Boonville at Paoli

Eastern Pekin at West Washington

Edgewood at Mitchell

Springs Valley at Eastern Greene

Switzerland County at Crawford County

Tell City at Perry Central

Brownstown at Corydon

North Harrison at Salem

Scottsburg at Madison

Silver Creek at Charlestown

Bonus Pick of the Week: Castle at Evansville North
