I watched a little of the Stanford vs Hawaii game as well and also terrible attendance. I know Stanford doesn't have the same tradition as SC does for football, but attendance was ugly. Perhaps weather, perhaps season start is too early with plenty of other things to do, perhaps escalating cost of attendance, etc. are all factors. I also can't help wondering if west coast football was destroyed with the elimination of the PAC 12 conference. So much history and tradition went down the drain with teams being sent all over the place. Just not sure it will ever be the same for west coast college football.

Predictions all over the place for that matchup, wonder why Harrell thinks it will be a close matchup. Maybe it’s a neutral field game on a Saturday at noon?

Can You Afford To Take Your Family To An NFL Game?
Boilernation replied to hhpatriot04's topic in The Next Level
I paid $7.90 as well via Event Link at Zionsville on Friday night. My wife sometimes works the gates. Oh man, she gets an earful from the old timers who pull up with only cash in the pocket. -
As Sir Charles Barkley once said, "I don't know nuthing' about LaVille, but LaVille is in trouble." Or maybe he was talking about Angola... LOL.
-
That's a BIG line. You think Mater Dei will score 35 points?
-
Good enough to beat LaVille by 35...

NFL Sunday Ticket is no longer worth the price

Thankfully, there are bars and restaraunts around Indy that cater to Bears fans. But, yeah, it's annoying that I pretty much know I'm not getting the Bears on Fox59 or CBS4 if the Colts are on at the same time. Otherwise, I feel like the Indy stations will typically televise the Bears. -
CIC play starts this week. The conference was represented much better this week, going 5-3. Eastbrook at Alexandria - Rematch from a BARNBURNER in the First Round of Sectionals last year. Townsfolk of Alex still have nightmares of the Bodie Howell scamper from that night. Both teams lost a lot of production with graduation, and new names will leave their mark as Mr. Howell did, I'm sure. Slightly more impressed with the play of Alex upfront so far, and that'll win the game. Elwood at Blackford - Elwood put it on Tri-Central in the Rock Bottom Bowl. Elwood has a few good pieces, but the low numbers won't allow them to be competitive after this week. Blackford took a way worse beating than I thought, but they did score 36, and that could make things interesting on Friday. Blackford kids know they won't have many chances after this, so expect a Herculean effort. Elwood wins in OT with another Mireles Miracle. Side note: Powerhouse Wes-Del might just make it to the 2nd round of Sectionals for the first time since 2017. 156 on Tri-Central and Blackford is quite the feat to hang your hat on. Score it while you can, I suppose. Mississinewa at Frankton - Mississinewa looked better against Marion, or Marion was just that much worse; unsure on that. Hard to get a good gauge on Frankton after playing Tipton then Lapel, but there are some bright spots for the young Wells Warriors. Branham kid is a good athlete and shows flashes of being a good player, but I think Mississinewa is still too much. Indians 35-14 Oak Hill at Madison-Grant - OH has confused me with their 0-2 start and a rough showing against Norwell, especially after a brutal loss to a good Eastern team. MG's 2-0 record carries little weight, but they are still physical and play quality football. Lots of dislike between these two, with a little extra fuel this year due to some staff movement. Oak Hill's Double Dive and Waggle are the difference-makers. Ott will be key to OH winning. Oak Hill wins 33-21. Final Standings Prediction: Mississinewa Oak Hill/Alexandria Eastbrook Madison-Grant Frankton Elwood Blackford

How good is Mater Dei?
-
After a competitive Wk.2, its Blow-out City this week. LaVille got smoked by 1A North Judson, so I don't see them hanging with MD. IMO, the only chance at an interesting game could be Jasper at Reitz. It wouldn't surprie me Reitz dominates Jasper. Already looking ahead to Wk.4 with Memorial @ MD and Reitz @ North.

Wabash River Conference Week 3
Marshall Mathers replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
FC vs RP - Ill take RP for 800 Alex NV vs Covington - NV is still struggling offensively. They have no run game, but Hinchee has some upside. Covington lost to the Polytechnicians last week. Ill still take Covington this week by a few scores. 27-12 Seeger vs Attica - Seeger by as many as they want. QB had quite a week last week 5 TDs no INTs. Is he the best QB in the conference? 47-6 SV vs PH - This is game of the week for me. PH dominated last week, and SV got a spankin. PH will have home field advantage, but the Cats will use the power of the Little Italy Festival weekend to win on a last second hail mary, then stompa da grapes on the field directly after. 35-34 -
Computer rankings are all over the place on this one: 7, 14, 21, 35 point margin-of-victory predictions. John Harrell: LaVille vs. Mater Dei (-7) Jeff Sagarin: Ev. Mater Dei is a 34.5-point favorite vs. LaVille (no HFA) Massey: Mater Dei 28, Laville 14 Cal Preps: Mater Dei 35, LaVille 14
-
Is LaVille really that bad? I know absolutely nothing about them. I remember MD's last non-conference game vs Whiting that was a blowout as well.

Legacy, baby! Pollsters probably think Goebel is still coaching.
