Pretty sure that some do. I just check in every now and then for information, add some content (some sarcasm, some informative as in the case of answers....but I don't attempt to be a pest and just find posts to 'comment' on when I see a screen name. Keeps me sane! And as for the perceived posters that seem to just be "out there".... I appreciate and look forward to actually rationalizing about their thoughts. BEFORE making any comment, if ever. They actually are appreciated by most on the GID to providing a different perspective to discussions.2 points

Correct, as it should be in my opinion. Private school education should be within reach for the middle class.........not just the rich and the poor.1 point

Population may drop by that much, but I don't know if that will lead to an overall reduction in schools. A lot of smaller schools are already as consolidated as they're going to get. I could see financial pressures causing a consolidation like Parke Heritage's in some places where you might have two schools in shrinking communities close to each other like you might find in Wayne or Randolph Counties, but I don't see too many of them. What it *may* do, especially without co-ops, is shrink the number of schools playing 11-man football. A much bigger issue is if this hypothetical goes through (and it likely won't) is that Illinois allows co-ops - and had a long, long-standing tradition of co-op programs (especially in football). Indiana does not. That could lead to some issues.1 point

Jimmy is retiring. I was never a fan of him as a coach. he was the head coach of two of the teams I hated more than any, The Hurricanes and the Cowboys. But as a coach, watching him break things down over the years, I gained a level of respect for him. A friend of mine who is a Cowboys fan and I have this conversation often, that had Jerry been able to keep his ego in check and allow Jimmy to stay, as loaded as that roster was, they could have set records for Super Bowl wins. There are so few coaches who have been able to keep so many egos on a roster in check, but Jimmy could. best of luck in retirement Jimmy; you will be missed, especially since it means even more Gronkowski than we have been getting in the last couple seasons.1 point

Hey I've got no problem with Muda. I don't agree with probably 99% of what they guy thinks or says, but he donates to the GID and brings a lot of interesting topics to this place. If there's one thing I've learned in my short time being here, it's just let him have his say and walk away from the keyboard. No need to talk about anyone's wife. We're just here to argue and talk about the game we all love to play, coach, watch, or any combination of those things.1 point

I wonder if people ever use a "message board personality" as a character of sorts, to work through the trials and tribulations of daily life? Maybe their message board personality is cranky so that they are not hard to deal with in real life. I could imagine a scenario where a person might post on a message board to make jokes or tell goofy stories that are only meant for self-amusement. Stuff that if they did it in their daily life would make people think that they might have a screw loose. Interesting to think about1 point

Good luck to Coach Coffer. NC is a very difficult job ... you're a 6A school with some talent in the halls playing in one of the toughest conferences in the state, where a lot of the talent in Washington Township is playing for Brebeuf, Chatard, Heritage Christian and Cathedral ... all of which are located in or just across the line from the district. Finding a way to build a program and keep some of that talent "home" at NC has been a challenge for coaches for the last 30 years, since Derrick Mayes and Eric Allen graduated.1 point

DT has always been a captalist in his mindset when it comes to GID and now facebook, he wanted to make this a paid site, he has made offers, has been refuted and went the route of facebook, more power to him, no stress from this seat, his model is not the model we believe in here, thats okay too, The reason he is using the GID name is to attract noise to gues what, bring in more traffic, more traffic, more pennies he makes, its not that hard of a concept. Wish him the best, no ill will from me, just not our style of what he wanted from this site, so it goes. I have had many coaches also reach out to me with negative view points on his surveys and how he goes after coaches on facebook even on the "hot seat". you know guys who are getting paid $7k-$12k type stipends because in HS football that is something that should be bantered about. My biggest issue I have always had with him and his choice of content1 point

Mason Alexander, a recent grad was a freshman at Pitt. He was killed in an accident Saturday in Fishers. From everything I am seeing, he was definitely a positive influence on everyone who knew him. RIP Mason. Prayers for his family, friends and teammates. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2025/03/02/mason-alexander-hamilton-southeastern-football-star-dies-car-accident/81057729007/?link_source=ta_first_comment&taid=67c5e9069bbc47000128e31a&fbclid=IwY2xjawIzEMdleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHWXCtAE0vdURdZXTEnYTx2T6eTl33QjNDoBWLxMAXNIgaooRraczYuvTuw_aem_5uAARNuLsnXxLsermXgdMQ0 points
