  2. There are currently 6 IHSAA football teams with open games in the week 5 or week 6. The two in week 5, Monroe Central and Wes-Del, actually happen to play each other in week 6. If they shift that game a week forward, and fun opportunity for the 6 teams missing dates on week 6 to have a fun little Eastern Indiana vs Region showdown. On a Saturday we could have Wes-Del vs Bowman Academy Monroe Central vs Hammond Central Connersville vs East Chicago Central all at the same field to cut operations costs for all involved. I'm sure Hammond Central would love to put their beautiful facility to work. Chicago could be a fun weekend trip.

  3. It seems particularly appropriate, in light of current events, to remember what happens when a government turns on its own people. Never forget. Images

  4. It does sounds like the co-op program has a chance this time of passing: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2026/05/01/ihsaa-proposals-high-profile-athletes-could-benefit-from-indiana-high-school-nil-rule-change/89876819007/ Could open the door for students at Rossville (enrollment 279) to finally get to play varsity football. A co-op arrangement with Clinton Central (239) makes perfect sense.

  5. I was working a flag game once when two defenders were following their receivers on crossing routes. They collided full speed and neither saw it coming. They were able to get up and walk away but were done for the day. I'm guessing one or both ended up with concussions. There are also incidental contact when two players are going for a pass. Contact is definitely much less than tackle football but not enough to not non-existent.
