  1. I still don't see the need for a shot clock in Indiana High School Basketball. There is already a counter to "stall ball" in the existing rulebook. It's called the 5-Second Violation. Coaches need to actually teach their players how to play aggressive man-to-man defense in order to force such violations, along with turnovers. Yet it seems more and more coaches are content to play insipid zone defenses and just whine and complain about the other team holding the ball.

  2. "The university protected it's brand." It was the logo, not the name itself. What Cathedral did was worth fighting for. What Central Catholic is doing is not. Good grief, how did we get here? I was just suggesting some good games.

  3. proximity wise it's totally understandable though... some areas, well basically anything outside of "more than an hour from Indy" are in a scheduling crunch... Bloomington South even saw the ramifications of that... Thankfully for FC--- no longer playing JC and Vincennes moving out of the SIAC-- has offered some flexibility. All three of these adds are still pretty hefty drives. 105 miles to Whiteland, 106 miles to GS, and 111 miles to Ev Memorial.

  4. FC-Providence? That’s a special rivalry?

  5. Northrop sucks. 23, you are basing this off one year. They need to put together 5 years of good play to even be mentioned

  6. Can't say I love the PBA stuff, but at this point it seems like a losing fight, so meh... My wife is the basketballer in our family and she was definitely NOT in favor of the shot clock, so bully there! Any word on the co-op proposal?

  7. I've been advocating this one for a few years now. We finally got a game last season with Dwenger vs St. Francis DeSales. Per AI.................Fort Wayne vs. Toledo makes for some of the best possible interstate high school football matchups in the region because the talent levels are similar, travel is manageable, and the fan bases are close enough to actually show up. 🔥 Premier “headline” matchups Snider Panthers vs Whitmer Panthers Two physical, disciplined programs Both regularly produce playoff-caliber teams Would feel like a true “border rivalry” game 👉 Probably the most natural stylistic matchup on the list. Carroll Chargers vs Central Catholic Fighting Irish Carroll = modern 6A Fort Wayne power Central Catholic = Toledo’s perennial elite program This is a statewide-level quality game on both sides 👉 Easily the highest “rankings impact” matchup. ⚔️ Competitive, evenly matched games Bishop Dwenger Saints vs St. John’s Jesuit Titans Both programs are physical and well-coached Similar enrollment and competitive cycles Would be a grind-it-out, defense-heavy game 👉 Very realistic as a long-term home-and-home. Homestead Spartans vs Perrysburg Yellow Jackets High-level consistency on both sides Strong playoff histories Would likely be one of the most balanced games 👉 Great “benchmark” matchup for both programs.

  8. I understand what you are saying. We need to stay on topic. Unfortunately, it's the offseason. Any thread on here that gets any conversation is good for all of us. There aren't many of us on here everyday in the offseason for good/fun discussions. Thank you for posting a thread that got some kind of conversation going. Even if it wasn't the intended topic. It gives a teacher like me that is bored at the end of the school year something to read throughout the day lol.

  9. ND went after Indianapolis Cathedral. "AI" to the rescue:

  10. I believe TCC is a school originally founded by the Brothers of Holy Cross, who founded ND. In Indiana, both Indpls. Cathedral and Evansville Reitz Memorial were also BHC schools at one time. We have recently "re-affiliated" despite not having any Brothers of HC on faculty. Not sure if Cathedral is still affiliated or not...

  11. "Fighting Irish"? Does the University of Notre Dame know about this blatant trademark violation? Or does Toledo Central Catholic has some kind of special dispensation?

  12. I know I’m ranting into the void - but earlier this week I heard questioning ‘Why don’t they move all non conference games to week 1 and be done with it?’ It won’t work with an odd number. Not sure how people can’t figure that out. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk

  16. It seems particularly appropriate, in light of current events, to remember what happens when a government turns on its own people. Never forget. Images

  17. More state titles after they joined, but having watched Snider for 50 years, better teams before they joined in my opinion
