  1. If you're over 65 and live in the district, you can get a pass at the Wayne Township Administration Center and never pay to go to another Ben Davis or Wayne Township event (not good for IHSAA or tourney events).

  5. It was more "wishful thinking" than prognostication skills, obviously. Many are hoping the Tigers are moving back towards the pack this season... Looks like "not" 8 -) COngrats on dominating victory

  6. Week 1 Pick ’Em Update: I noticed that one of the Week 1 scores listed on John Harrell’s site was incorrect when I originally calculated the standings. Unfortunately, I had already tallied everyone’s picks based on that score. I’ve gone back, corrected the game result, and updated everyone’s Week 1 totals accordingly. Sorry about the mix-up! The standings below are the corrected Week 1 standings. 👍 9 - PiratePride13, SuhMe 8 - Sparks, Bluejacket1 7 - Salem33, WWFan, Baker64, OldramDL 6 - Boilerfan87, IUFan

  9. Not trying to knock EN in any way, but if 8 D1 players is true, your three away from having a college team. You shouldn't lose let alone get shutout. I'm sure some coaches would love to have 1 D1 athlete on their team. 8?! It def is easy to blame coaching.

  10. You guys are winning that sectional. But the best team on the list you just named is probably Salem. I’m obviously a Floyd Central fan but also a Salem supporter and their football team looks very solid. Big offensive line. Really well fundamentally executing team. I don’t think NH is very good this season. But Salem looked solid tonight.

  12. Hmmhh.. BC was 2 yards away from making it 28-0 at the half. I missed when Corydon threatened to score... at all? No kidding this isn't BCs team from last year lol... "be ready for a quick exit in the tourney this year" name names.. who's that team that sends BC packing early? Here's the sectional-- Providence, Mitchell, Pekin, Salem, Brown Co, Switz Co, Clarksville.. Replacing 17 starters from our best team ever? And 4 rotational guys out right now from injury, rotating in 5 SOs, week 1 on the road, vs a senior laden Corydon team.. being up 35-0 with 16 mins to go in the game... yes, all things considered. It wasn't an onside kick to start the half.. its a squib kick.. Conyer is just really good at that. Did it in the semi state last year, too.

  13. Ben Davis 33, Cathedral 27 final BD led 21-7 at the half and built a 27-10 lead midway in the 3rd quarter! The Irish came back to tie the game at 27 early in the 4th quarter. After a Giants turnover the Irish had the ball deep in BD territory, but a series of penalties led to a long missed FG! BD then scored with 1:50 left in the game and then missed the XP! The Irish quickly moved the ball into BD territory but a fumble, after a completed pass inside the 30 yard line, ended the game! The Giants QB threw for 327 yards tonight! No Irish opponent's QB threw for 300+ yards last season! Lots of penalties and lots of turnovers, as you would expect in an opener!

  18. I was just notified Thursday night that long time Cathedral basketball coach and teacher Tom O'Brien has passed away at the age of 95. OB was a dear friend of everyone he met! He was a real asset to Cathedral High School through ou his life! One humorous story about OB, told to me by Irish coach Leo Mahoney. Both Leo and OB played football at Butler for Coach Tony Hinkle. During their early years they rode the bench for most of the season, but in a runaway game Coach Hinkle pointed at them both to enter the game. It was difficult for them as their helmets were full of popcorn! I will post an obituary later. RIP,OB!
